Is The Floor a glitch? Inanimate Insanity theory

In the body swap episode Paintbrush claimed that, while they were the floor, they went somewhere else in the process of teleportation.

Mephone could have made the Floor as a joke, but it is kind of strange that he would program that in for the haha funny.

Not to mention Mephone wasn't able to control the floor. An entire challenge was dedicated to trying to get him off the island. Maybe he wanted to pad out runtime, but that is a bit of a weird way to do it.

Mephone doesn't strike me as someone who would be organized with code as well. So I think I have good reason to suspect The Floor was an accident.
