Support children’s creativity
These days, when they can't get involved in a children's team, it's not easy to entertain our little ones. We have a tip for beautiful creative activity which they will enjoy for hours. All you need is a white or light-coloured cotton T-shirt, paper, scissors, textile pens and the small fashion designers can start to work. Based on paper templates, made with the help of parents, or just with their own fantasy, they can make a T-shirt with a picture of whatever they want - their favourite fairy tale hero, a meadow full of flowers, or the fiercest dinosaur. You can achieve the same with dyeing colours, commonly available in the drugstores, which our kids can use to create T-shirts with the most colourful designs. It's up to them and their imagination, which is often boundless. Ideal for such creative afternoons are children's T-shirts Basic 129, its label free variant Basic Free F38, Classic 100, Classic New 135, Fit-T LS 121 or Pelican P72.

Difficult times require daring solutions
Current events force many of you to address the lack of textile products washable at high temperatures. Whether it regards healthcare products or those, which you would like to use to make textile masks for health protection.
However, we recommend washing most of our products at 30-40 ° C. So what can you do with it?
Tumblr media
There is a solution - the recommended washing temperature is the ideal temperature, which usually is sufficient to remove dirt from the garment. However, our products can withstand much higher temperatures. Even if you wash them at temperatures around 60-90 ° C, nothing worse happens than the product will shrink without otherwise affecting its quality.
So if you know you are looking for the product you need to scald out (wash at high temperatures), choose a product that is one or two sizes larger than you normally order. Before you first put it on, wash it at high temperature and the problem may be solved.
Ideal products are made from 100% cotton, such as Classic 100, 101, Classic New 132, 133, 135, Pure 122 or Fit-T LS 119, 121, because they do not contain elastane. Unlike cotton, elastane does not withstand high temperatures and would deform the product shape by cracking. High-temperature washing is also not recommended for colours 03 – ash melange and 12 - dark gray melange, where the material composition differs.
Tumblr media
Besides that we also offer T-shirts Resist R01, R02, Resist Heavy R03, R04 and Resist LS R05, which are specifically designed for washing at 60 ° C (colour) and 95 ° C (white). Even here, however, the colour variant of pre-shrunk cotton can be washed at higher temperatures without affecting the product´s quality.
Tumblr media
All these products are therefore ideal solutions for medical facilities, medical and pharmaceutical fields, but also drivers.

Last year ADLER again increased its revenue
… by almost 20 percent, just as it did the previous five years.
In 2019 ADLER Czech reported an increase of almost 20 percent in international revenue. A few days ago, our auditors confirmed that as the Central European market leader of promotional textiles, we have sold goods and services for a total of 1.381 billion Czech crowns. The billion-crown line was crossed already the preceding year when turnover reached 1.163 billion Czech crowns. The economic results were the same as the previous years: black numbers with growing tendencies.
‘The international growth is evident both from the number of crowns earned and the number of sold items,’ stated Radek Veselý, the company’s statuary director and chairman of the management board. In comparison to 2018, almost three million more pieces of the promotional textiles and work clothing were sold. In total, more than 17 million items were sent to our customers. The number of delivered containers filled with goods rose by approximately 50 containers to a total of 440 containers.
Tumblr media
The distribution of the total turnover between the various territories is more or less the same as last year with two-thirds of the turnover coming from abroad. The company strengthened its position on the markets in Central and Southeast Europe, and the boom in the Baltic States and further east persists. Sales on the Italian market also increased by about 30 percent, and growth was also recorded in France and Scandinavia.
Promotional T-shirts, polo shirts, and fleece products still make up the largest sales volume with more than 80 percent of the total number of sold items.  Although we continuously expand the range of colours our products are available in, the most popular colour is still black, followed closely by white, as it has been for a long time. Equally successful is our selection of work clothing, accompanied by protective footwear by the company Bata Industrials.
Regarding investments, the biggest and most important investment was the photovoltaic system at our logistics centre in Ostrava. The hybrid photovoltaic system with batteries and cogeneration units was installed in September 2019. The system combines a 296 kWp FVE, storage batteries with a capacity of up to 360 kWh, cogeneration units, smart charging for electric cars, handling equipment and measuring and regulation units. The project was implemented without any construction or use of additional land. Besides saving money and making the logistics centre energetically more self-sufficient, the project lowered the centre’s carbon footprint and total emissions of greenhouse gases, as well as stabilizing the power distribution.
Tumblr media
This year, we intend to continue growing at the same rate as previously. ‘Our sales plan again includes a growth of several million Czech crowns,’ Radek Veselý commented in regard to this year’s aims. The company also has a strong focus on sustainability. Not only in regard to running the company, but also in relation to the products we sell, some of which focus on using ecological materials. ADLER now offers a new collection of towels and T-shirts called ORGANIC, which uses certified organic cotton (GOTS), which complies with the company’s environmental approach. Merino wool is fairly unique among promotional textiles and our merino T-shirts have thus gained a lot of traction.
Next year, the company is counting on investing in both tangible fixed assets and intangible assets (expanding our storage technology, parking, hardware, software, etc.).
Regarding increases in work productivity, automation, innovation and modernisation, the number of our employees has increased on average five percent in the Ústí Region and the Moravian-Silesian Region. The staffing of auditing teams for our Asian producers and our two foreign branches, Dhaka in Bangladesh and Beijing in China, is also stable.

ADLER Czech has started constructing a hybrid photovoltaic system with battery storage
Tumblr media
In June, ADLER Czech in Ostrava started constructing one of the most modern hybrid systems in the country. The supplier NWT has started installing 947 photovoltaic cells on the roof and building shell of the warehouse and logistics centre in Kunčičky.
In addition to the 704 polycrystalline silicon photovoltaic panels on the roof, there are another 243 monocrystalline panels on the building shell. Without having to take up any ground space on the premises, we are thus able to implement an innovative energy project that is unique even beyond the borders of the Czech Republic. It is the combination of first-class technology and the modern control and monitoring system that makes this system so unique. The total power of the electrical power station reaches 296 kWp, while the output of a single cell on the roof is 310 Wp and the output of a panel on the façade is 320 Wp.
Tumblr media
The surface of the sloping roof has been utilized yet remains waterproof. The solar cells are accompanied by a high-quality battery system with a total capacity of 230 kWh. A classic on-grid converter will be an integral part of the electrical power station and will send the generated energy to a secondary distributor within the warehouse. According to the project plan, the available capacity is 200 kWh, in addition to the forklift truck batteries. The estimated annual production reaches almost 300,000 kWh. “The accumulated electricity will function as a back-up in the case of a power outage and will also help even out consumption peaks,” said ADLER’s logistics manager, Martin Řehoř, when explaining the advantages of the system.
This technology will not only be used to charge the forklift trucks; it will also supply a quick charger for electric cars – a 30 kWh DC charger compatible with CHAdeMo and CCS.
Tumblr media
The total investment for this unique solar system is 15 million Czech crowns and according to the contract, the system should be ready to use by mid-August.
Tumblr media
This complex zero-emission photovoltaic electrical power station complements last year’s investment of three million Czech crowns that financed the ecological condensing cogeneration units TOTEM 25, which provide the warehouses with heat and electricity. The emissions from these units are extremely low due to the fact that they are small and light and have an integrated catalyst. It is the most ecological way of producing both electricity and heat.

ADLER won a medal at the Czech Leaders’ Awards
Tumblr media
Based in Ústí nad Labem, the producer of marketing textiles ADLER Czech was yet again awarded for its positive financial results. The finals of the Czech Leaders’ Awards were held in Prague where ADLER’s statuary director, Radek Veselý was awarded second place in the Ústí Region.
“The award I received on behalf of ADLER Czech is primarily an acknowledgement of the effort our employees put in on a daily basis,” Radek Veselý commented on this achievement. The last five years alone have seen the company’s growth reach a level of almost 30 per cent each year. In 2018 the company moved into the billions for the first time as it reached an amount of 1,163 billion Czech crowns.
This year the top 89 companies, based on their financial results, made it into in the finals of the Czech Leaders’ Awards. These companies had been selected from a total of 1,307 companies that met the criteria for the competition. CRIF – Czech Credit Bureau functioned as the professional guarantor of the competition and selected the finalists. Of these, 43 per cent are family companies and 63 per cent sell products and services abroad.
Tumblr media
The Czech Leaders’ Awards evaluates the largest Czech companies, which are represented by successful and transparent companies with an annual turnover of at least 200 million Czech crowns and a minimum of 50 employees. Winners are chosen separately for each region of the Czech Republic. The winners are nominated and awarded based on an assessment, rating and scoring guaranteed by the international company CRIF – Czech Credit Bureau, as mentioned above. The first place in the Ústí Region went to the concrete producer CS-BETON s.r.o. and the third place was awarded to HIT OFFICE s.r.o., which produces office supplies and disposable dinnerware from card.

We are Winners in the field of Innovation
Tumblr media
Yesterday, our Chief Operations Officer Jan Korol accepted the „Innovation and Sustainable Development“ award from the representative of Czech Business Council. We won thanks to the „II. Phase of extension of the ADLER Logistics Center, Ostrava Business Park“ project.
We are leaders in the category of stock and logistics system, and especially in the ecological approach to the environment – last year, we installed modern cogeneration units for the production of heat and electric energy.
Tumblr media
“This is already our third award we earned in the innovation and sustainable development field during the last two years,” Jan Korol says. Most innovations improve our service to the customers or ease the physically demanding work of our employees. “We realize, that sustainable development is closely connected to the environmental approach.” he said. Also the project of photovoltaic power station in the logistics centre in Ostrava should start running this year. It will complement the solar panels, already installed on the roof of our headquarters building in Ústí nad Labem.
The “Innovations and Sustainable Development“ award is presented every year at the event “Manager of the Year”.

Korean students’ internships confirmed by Memorandum of Cooperation
Tumblr media
The internships of ten South Korean students in Usti region were confirmed by today’s singing of memorandum of cooperation. Aside from our CEO Radek Veselý, representatives from Infinity Energy, Decin-based Chart-Ferox and Most-based Grid Consulting & Trading were present, as parts of this educational initiative. The signing of the agreement took place in the Inovation Centre of the Usti Region.
Before signing the memorandum, representatives of Kyungju Business High school visited our headquarters in Usti for a tour.
Two of their talented students will be coming for a three-month internship in the IT department starting this September. If they fit in well, they can end school early and be offered a permanent position.
„Usage of data is the cornerstone of our way of doing business. Therefore, IT specialists are valued highly by us, and we believe that these internships will be beneficial for both sides,“ commented Radek Veselý.
Tumblr media
For the Korean school and their student, Czechia is an unknown environment. Director Kim Do-Hyun noted: „We will do our best to prepare our students well.“
ADLER is the market leader in promotional and work clothing segment in Czech Republic and Slovakia, with a prominent position in Europe as a whole. Given the company profile, with a modern logistics centre and the importance of e-shop as the only distribution channel, ADLER has a large demand for good IT experts. „For the company, internships provide help from new IT specialists, and for the students receive practical experience, working and living in a foreign country,“ adds ADLER´s HR director Jana Kucerova.
This opportunity came about thanks to the Global Internship Program, lead by Elyse Consulting Korea, Inc, while the Inovation Centre of the Usti Region and CzechInvest helped bring the project to Czech Republic.

Representing ADLER at prestigious international trade fairs
Tumblr media
ADLER Czech, manufacturer of promotional textiles, will be visiting trade fairs in Germany, Italy, France, Poland and, of course, the Czech Republic in the first few months of the upcoming year.
On 8 January, ADLER will present its classic products as well as new items at Promotex Expo in Düsseldorf, Germany. On 23 January we will open our booth at the PTE trade fair in Milan, Italy, and in early February the exhibition will move to CTCO in Lyon, France. From 13 February we will fill our traditional spot at the Rema Days trade fair in Warsaw. This marathon of trade fairs for the spring/summer season draws to an end in April 2019 at the popular exposition Advertising Polygraph in Prague.
Tumblr media
‘ADLER holds a leading position on the market of promotional textiles and 70 percent of its production is now distributed to 25 different countries in Europe. Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania are among the company’s traditional export destinations, and the upcomers this year are the Baltic states, that are still securing their position,’ says ADLER’s International Marketing Director, Martina Weber. Taking part in these prestigious European trade fairs is one way for potential customers to get to know the company better, and it is also a good way for us to show off our new products to our current customers.
Tumblr media
PromoTex Expo is visited by 20,000 people, and is the first European event of the year for promotional textiles, sportswear and work clothes. Promotion Trade Exhibition in Italy, better known as PTE, is one of the most famous and largest trade fairs for promotional products in Europe. The trade fair is divided into two main areas – textiles and promotional products and machine technology – where manufacturers, importers and distributors present their promotional and marketing products. CTCO is the only exhibition for promotional products and textiles that takes place in France during the first few months of the year. For 15 years, around 800 exhibitors and tens of thousands of visitors have gathered annually in Warsaw at one of the largest trade fairs in Europe, REMA DAYS.
Tumblr media
Every year, the trade fairs present the latest trends and modern solutions for promotional communication. Innovative concepts are a characteristic of the fairs and a large part of the programme is dedicated to an extensive selection of seminars and workshops for both exhibitors and visitors. Our booth at the trade fairs is open to current and potential customers as well as those who would simply like to know more about the company.

We are joining today´s world celebrations of Giving Tuesday with our charity calendar Bangladesh 2019
Tumblr media
"Give education, give the future"
We are joining today´s world celebrations of Giving Tuesday with our charity calendar Bangladesh 2019.
"Last year, as part of the project „ADLER helps“ our company together with its employees contributed 50.000 CZK to a young woman for buying a wheelchair and to a „butterfly child“ boy for special dressing material. This year we focused on helping the country where we make eighty percents of our production," explains Martina Weberová, the Marketing Director.
In spring we joined forces with the ADRA International Charity Foundation and got involved in helping children from the Čalantika educational centre, which is located in the Dhaka slum of the same name.
Our colleagues gave school uniforms and other school supplies to eighty children, paid their tuition fees for a whole year, secured for them a daily warm and nutritious lunch, filters for potable water production and also organized an educational trip.
All the proceeds from the sale of the calendar will be forwarded to cover the education of these local children. Education is the only way to get rid of poverty," adds Martina Weberová.
Our registered customers can buy the calendar on the e-shop www.adler.info. Other interested parties can order it for 299 CZK by e-mail: [email protected] where they will receive a specific payment instructions.
Tumblr media
The charity calendar Bangladesh 2019 was created in collaboration with famous photographers Hanna Connor and Filip Jandourek. A famous fashion designer Liběna Rochová, who regularly uses our promotional textiles, christened the calendar at the beginning of November in her studio in Prague.
Tumblr media
Giving Tuesday, the International day of donation and the day of good deeds, is celebrated this year for the third time in the Czech Republic. Celebrations are held all over the world always on the same day, which is Tuesday following the Thanksgiving, as a contrast to Black Friday's shopping madness. Giving Tuesday in the Czech Republic is covered by Association of Social Responsibility.

We want to give back to the place that has given to us. That is the only thing that can truly make us a socially responsible company
Tumblr media
The issue of foreign suppliers financially supporting the education of Bangladeshi children arose when our company representatives recently visited the educational centre Chalantika. In addition to our own charitable activities, which we started at the beginning of the year in cooperation with the Czech branch of the international organisation ADRA, local business owners have promised to join us during the coming year.
‘Most of our products are manufactured in Bangladesh and so common sense tells us that we are indebted to the region. We want to give something back, whether it is direct help or mediated support for Bangladeshi children. We want to provide at least some of them with the prospect of a better, more dignified life,’ says Martina Weberová, the marketing director of ADLER Czech. Company representatives visited Chalantika back in May to hand over school uniforms and other school supplies to the children. Tuition fees for the year, hot and nutritious lunches, filters for drinking water, and an educational trip were also provided for all 80 children currently attending the centre.
Tumblr media
Top management then visited the centre with one of the shareholders in September. ‘Almost 80 percent of our products are created in Dhaka. The seamstresses at the factories we use have a respectable job and earn a salary that provides them and their whole family a good standard of living,’ says Aleksandar Alačkov, ADLER’s business director. ‘During our visit in September, we also approached the issue of charity with the local suppliers, and they agreed to join us in supporting the educational centre Chalantika financially. Together we will ensure the financial stability of the centre for the next few years,’ Aleksandar Alačkov adds.
Tumblr media
The cooperation is also appreciated by the representatives of the humanitarian organisation ADRA in Czech Republic. ‘For the children living in the eponymous slum, the opportunity to go to school is their only chance to experience a real childhood and the hope for a better future,’ says Jakub Charvát, the project coordinator at Chalantika. Education is the only way to help them to move forward and escape from the clutches of poverty in which they and their parents are currently living. The educational centre is visited by 80 children and often also their parents, mainly their mums. They too learn how to read and write as well as financial literacy.

The Czech Business Superbrands award is ours!
Tumblr media
The prestigious quality award Czech Business Superbrands 2018 for the company ADLER Czech, a.s.  was accepted by the statutory director Radek Veselý and marketing director Martina Weberová during a gala event in Prague.
Last year, when we won the Czech Business Superbrands award for the first time, I was very pleased to be listed among brands with amazing reputation. Today‘s award, which we owe to the dedication and hard work of all our employees shows our strategy pays off. I am proud to be a part of this great company “, said Radek Veselý about the achievement back in May, when he presented the award by the Czech Superbrands director Roman Sovják during the international trade fair Reklama Polygraf in Prague.
Tumblr media
As part of the gala ceremony, the now traditional Czech Superbrands 2018 yearbook was issued, in which, among all the awarded companies, we also present our achievements, history and social responsibility activities.
Since Superbrands evaluates and honors the best brands in more than 90 countries, we have ranked among such brands as British Airways or Microsoft. In the Czech Republic, the Czech Superbrands program has been active for the 6th year and has gained a prestigious position during its existence. The jury selected the most successful brands of more than a million registered on the Czech market. However, only the best can win. This is done by independent triple measurement across dozens of categories, with emphasis on business results, expert advice from Brand Council experts, or in the case of consumer brands by consumer surveys.

We design cuts with the advanced technology
Tumblr media
Avatar is the working name of a virtual character in the computer program that our colleagues from purchasing department are using to design and develop new cuts.
This software officially called Program OptiTex is a computer system to design clothing from start to finish. Saša Dragounová, the head of development department says that this program helps to make a concept of future clothing pattern, but also allows to design, construction and modeling including electronic documentation for individual models and large series production. The entire system bought for a purchase price of millions of Czech crowns consists of a powerful computer, a digitizer which is a large-format drawing board for saving and digitizing paper drawings on the computer screen. Another component of this technology is a plotter – a large-size printer on which you can directly print the cut created on the computer screen. The paper form serves as a further check for some details, as well as for postal sending the cut to a manufacturer who does not have a compatible computer program.
youtube
Team of designers and garment technologists in our development center is working not only just with typical paper cuts. The three-dimensional avatar model, for example, helps to make cut displays for T-shirts, jackets or shirts in a wide range of color and size combinations, taking into account specific properties of various fabrics. Advanced manufacturing technologies will significantly speed up communications with a foreign manufacturer and, above all, the entire development process of new garments.

We are supporting an SOS Children's Village in Croatia
Tumblr media
SOS Children's Villages International is a project aimed at improving substitute family care for abandoned children. However, the primary goal is helping biological families to stay together. SOS Villages are offering multiple forms of support for families, so that they can take care of children on their own again.
The five programs for vulnerable families include the „Preventive help for families with risk of taking their children away“, which helps to overcome a life crisis in the shortest possible time, or the „Halfway home“, which offers help to shelter home kids reaching their adulthood. When young people turn 18, they are often helpless in finding a new home or a job, because in a functional family its the parents who usually help to solve these challenges.
SOS Children's Villages are financed from 90 % by the state budget and from 10 % by sponsors like a common citizens and companies like ADLER.
Tumblr media
In the SOS Children's Village in Lekenik town near Zagreb, Croatia, are 72 children being raised today, taken care by 15 SOS substitute mothers, aunts and other employees. The kids stories are different, but they all need home functioning in the traditional way - surrounded by their family. One SOS mother can take care of up to 7 children and together they are managing a new home – covering their material and emotional needs.
Tumblr media
Nikolina and David, the kids on the photographs, gave us a look into their new lives. Nikolina is a young schoolgirl. She loves cartoons and fairytales, especially Frozen and SpongeBob SquarePants. David is just 4 years old, he likes to play and with the help of his substitute mom, he is already preparing for school. We wish them to enjoy their childhood as much as possible in spite of the unfortunate conditions they were thrown into. And we are happy we could contribute at least a little to a future much brighter.

Educational Center CHALANTIKA - Ticket to the Dignified Life
Tumblr media
Humanitarian aid to children in the Bangladeshi Education Center CHALANTIKA was presented on Monday, May 7, by our colleagues from the purchasing department.
„Donate education, donate the future“ is an ADRA program which we proudly joined. Thanks to our contribution, children living in the slum of the same name in Bangladesh‘s capital Dhaka have paid tuition, daily warm and nutritious lunch throughout the school year, drinking water filters, new uniforms and school supplies for this year. We are glad that we put a smile on their face.
There are more than five million people in the poor neighbourhoods who come to Dhaka from Bangladeshi villages with the vision of a better life. Overpopulated Dhaka is a ruthless and only a fraction of them will be able to find a dignified job that guarantees a better life.
Tumblr media
Nearly 80% of ADLER products are manufactured in Dhaka. The seamstresses we employ have a decent job and a decent salary for them to live properly. Unfortunately, there are millions of those who do not have the same opportunity. The Center CHALANTIKA is attended by 80 children, who also receive a chance for a better future thanks to our gift. Only education can move things forward and help them out of poverty in which they live with their parents today.
We are talking about extreme poverty. They live in illegally built houses made of everything that is right at hand, and so it is hard to talk about living under acceptable hygienic conditions. Most slums lack things like drinking water, sewage, electricity, or paved roads. Most Dhaka slums face high unemployment, crime, lack of health care and, of course, difficult access to education.
Tumblr media
And how will our donation be used specifically? Thanks to ADLER's contribution, all 80 Bangladeshi children have paid tuition, a daily warm and nutritious lunch throughout the school year, drinking water filters, an educational trip, and all pupils have received from our colleagues from the purchasing department a new uniform and school supplies for this school year.
And now one for all, the story of Rumi - the girl in the photo
When Rumi was two years old, she and her parents were heading out of a village in the south of Bangladesh to Saudi Arabia. With the vision of a better life, they borrowed funds for visas and travel expenses.
Tumblr media
However as many families before them they were deceived by the middleman and ended up without means in Dhaka, in the slum of CHALANTIKA, in the hut of bamboo and corrugated iron.
Twelve-year-old Rumi's father Motiur works as a labourer. However, his income is irregular. Because of jaundice, most of the time he stays home. Her mother earns a living as a helper in the home of richer families. Together, they earn about 6,000 BDT per month, which is about CZK 1,500. But most of the money is spent on the necessary payments, food and medicines for the father.
School in the center is for Rumi a ticket of hope that her life will be easier than her parents' lives. Her most popular subject is English, where she makes great progress, as well as her mother tongue. Rumi is focused and active in classes, teachers often praise her. She is very friendly, she wears her heart on her sleeve, and therefore has plenty of friends with whom she spends her spare time. Her most popular activity is jumping over the rope, but she is also artistically talented. "Rumi is a nice, decent girl," says her neighbour and wishes her a lot of success in her life.
Tumblr media
Rumi has also acquired the habits necessary for a healthier life in the slum. She regularly cleans her teeth, washing hands with soap, drinks boiled water, and knows how to store food in order not to spoil. She then passes on this knowledge to her family. Her great dream is to become a doctor and help poor and sick people like her dad and provide them with the necessary treatment.
"Rumi is my only child and she is everything to me. I wish she wouldn’t have such a hard life as me, and she got the opportunity to complete her studies." Rumi wishes for a better future than her mother Helen.
And that is our wish not only for Rumi, but also for other 79 children from the CHALANTIKA Education Center.
