Forest Gump Film Review
Forrest Gump is a 1994 American drama/comedy film directed by Robert Zemeckis. The protagonist in the film is also the narrator as he's retelling his story to strangers waiting at the bus stop. Forrest Gump is a slow witted child who also has back problems as he cannot walk straight. Forrest experienced a heavy amount of bullying due to his slow wittedness and his physical disability as he was unable to run. He did not have many friends as a child except this one girl named Jenny who was a full shining light in his life. After facing all these early childhood hardships, Forrest was then admitted into the US military where he met from Bubba. Bubba was slow witted himself and they were both mistreated by the military because of it. Bubba’s father owned a shrimp fishery business and once they completed the military, they are planning on pursuing a career in the shrimping industry. Unfortunately for Bubba, he was killed in action while deployed in Vietnam, as he was shot in the chest by a straight bullet. After this tragic event, he went to seek his childhood friend Jenny, however, he discovered she became a prostitute. He completely embarrassed her around her “customers” which led to a massive argument between Forrest and Jenny which led to Jenny slandering her name. After this occurrence, Forest changed his life trajectory even with all the hardships he had to overcome as he eventually married Jenny and started a family in his childhood home. All characters in this movie had fantastic acting especially Tom Hanks and the camerawork was outstanding. A narrative element that helped me grasp the movie better was the size of shot. In some scenes, the cinematographer would do an over the shoulder shot. This technique allows the viewers to see the character's emotions better while also having the camera wide enough to know the location of each character. Another film technique that was great was focal distance and definition as the cinematographer would use close up shots to see the emotions on characters faces. Low angle shots were also used in this movie in which the repurpose was to make the characters appear more dominant as they look to appear taller.
This movie was exceptional as the plot was outstanding and Forrest Gump's character development was very interesting. In my opinion, I didn’t think this movie was very funny but in fact it was more of a sentimental feeling. The time when he was rejected by his school as his IQ was 75, Jenny dissed him and Bubba’s death were very sad moments in the movie. Especially as the most climatic moment was at the end of the film when Jenny dies. The target audience of this film should be 18+ as emotionally this movie is very heavy. People who also want to watch a movie based in the 1900s would really enjoy this movie as things that were said 30 years ago would not be accepted in society in modern times. Overall I rate this film a 5.0/5.0 stars.

Casablanca Film Review
Casablanca is a 1942 American romantic drama film directed by Michael Curtiz. During WWII, Europeans fleeing from germans had to exit visas before travelling to the United States. Casablanca follows Rick, a bar owner in Casablanca during WWII whose cafe holds many refugees seeking visas that will help them escape to America. Isla who is a former lover of Rick arrives with her new husband which causes a lot of controversy as later on in this film, Rick and Isla spend time together in which Isla subsequently confesses her love for Rick and wants to stay with him. Regardless of Isla holding a gun right to Rick’s face, Rick was going to help Laszlo as he convinced Renault to drop his charges. At the last moment, Rick forces Isla to get on the plane with her husband as she believes she will regret her decision for the rest of her life if she stays in Casablanca. A narrative element that helped me understand this movie better is film music. As this is from the film noir genre, the film music was very calming and sounded like music that was from the 1940’s. The cinematographer was outstanding in this play as the size shot film technique is used to zoom into people such as when Lisa cries. The close-up shot is used to emphasise the dramatic effect of her crying as it builds up lots of emotions in the scene. As the scenes were getting more dramatic, the music became more tense. The tone of this movie was very gloomy and dark as all throughout this movie all the characters were all very unfriendly. The acting in this play was terrific and I felt like everyone had great performances and played their roles to the best of their ability.
The target audience for Casablanca is 18+ as this movie should be directed towards people very interested in learning about WWII. This movie did an amazing job in the portrayal of how people were treated during the war. This movie was a war/love film that I recommend to a group of people. The setting was around in the 40s and I felt like it was very clear this was during WWII. My favourite part in the movie would be the time Rick and Isla fell in love as before when they were in Paris, Isla believed that her husband Laszlo was dead. Once Isla found out her husband was still alive, she sent a note to Rick when he was at the train station stating she will never see him again. This part interests me as I feel like it's impossible to understand Isla’s true emotions and feelings. Overall after watching this movie for a second time, I believe this is my favourite film I have ever watched in this class alongside Forrest Gump. The message of the hardships refugees had to deal with to escape Casablanca was truly spectacular. I rate this movie a 5.0/5.0 stars.

Joker Film Review
Joker is a thriller made in 2019 and directed by Todd Phillips. The protagonist Arthur Fleck lives in Gotham City which is full of crime. One day, Arthur was attacked by a gang group and his co-worker Randall subsequently gave him a gun for his protection. Unfortunately when they go into a children’s hospital, Arthur drops the gun causing suspicion around the workplace which causes him to get fired. Arthur is faced with a lot of hardships throughout this movie as on his subway ride home, he gets attacked by 3 businessmen which he kills them out of self defense and flees immediately. Arthur was also accused by Penny of being Thomas’s biological father which infuriated him as he accused her of being delusional. Once Arthur found legal documents confirming his suspicion, he proceeded to kill Penny making her pay for many years of false accusations and lies. The movie ends with Joker getting arrested for shooting people on live TV and going to a mental constitution. After watching the movie, I also did some character analysis research and I found out that Arthur suffered from paranoid schizophrenia. This disorder makes people hallucinate and have paranoid delusions which is very unfortunate as it becomes difficult for a person to live a normal life with it. A narrative element that helped me understand this movie better is Focal Distance and Definition. The cinematographer would put the camera to eye level or below to try to cut up the frame. This strategy also helps us as the audience to be able to see details in the characters faces that we would normally not be able to see. In the subway scenes, the cinematographer made sure he used a size of shot. He used a medium shot which is used to capture everyone in the scene as in this scene, there were plenty of people. In my opinion, I believe that Joaquin Phoenix did an outstanding job playing Joker. I feel like he put so much effort and he was very passionate about playing this character.
The message of Joker is terrific as society needs to support people that are poor and in desperate need of medical care due to their health implications. As Arthur was unable to be treated with the right medications, he began hallucinating which subsequently led to the murders. The target audience of Joker should be 18+ as there are sexual images, bloody violence, disturbing behaviour and vulgar language. People interested in Dc comics would love this movie. I overall give this movie a 4.5/5.0 stars as I believe it was a fantastic film but Forrest Gump and Casablanca will go down as my all time favourites.

Fallen Creed (Student Film) Film Review
The Fallen creedstudent film made by former Thornhill Secondary School students. The main character in this film is a man named Creed who is suffering from grief as his wife has been murdered. He believes the police are unable to help him so he wants to take matters into his own hands by tracking down the murderer and shooting him with the gun. Throughout the whole film, Creed’s best friend tries to calm down Creed and stop him from continuing on his evil plan. I really liked how Creed had such a good friend as he also visited and waited outside in the freezing cold for 2 hours just to talk to him. I enjoyed this movie from the beginning to the end as it was very similar to the godlike movie. Both the main character in Fallen Creed and Irene and Megan in Godlike had the same way of coping and relieving stress. They all wanted to commit violent acts regardless of what others think. Unlucky for Irene and Megan in godlike as they didn’t have anybody to stop their irritation plans. The tone and mood of this movie was a sad and gloomy atmosphere which is very common in noir genres. The cinematography was terrific in this student film regardless of the restrictions they had such as budget and technology availability. A film technique that was great was focal distance and definition as the cinematographer would use close up shots to see the emotions on characters faces. The old jazz music was terrific and It really captured the feeling of a film noir. The black and white filter did that as well. Also the camerawork was really good. The transitions between scenes were really well. The film was in climatic order making it very easy for me to follow at all times and the characters were very interesting.
In this student film, Creed's best-friend tried calming him down and mentioning that his emotions and his anger should not overtake him as it's going to make the situation worse. I really like this message as if your id takes over your mind, it drives you towards aggressive thoughts and you are filled up with anger and revenge. I really liked Creed’s best friend as a character because I believe he is such a caring and great friend. In my opinion, I feel like this film is perfect for people that are interested in black and white coloured films. This film was very interesting but unfortunately this wasn’t a long film as it was only 12 minutes. This film should be for kids 15+ as the subject matter is disturbing at some points. Despite the acting and the length of the film, I rate this film a 3.5/5.0 stars. I feel like the godlike student film was a little more interesting because at the end, Irene and Megan followed through with their plan of shooting up the school. The camerawork in the film at the end of the other film was exceptional which leads me to favour godlike over Fallen Creed.

The Rape of Nanking (Student Film) Film Review
This student film was made to recreate the horror that a women had to go through during the 1937 Nanking Massacre. The Nanking Massacre was a mass murder and rape against residents of Nanjing committed by Japanese troops. I liked how the film was shot in black in white. The film was supposed to be set in 1937, so they wanted the camerawork to appear a bit older than it is. Also, the black and white results in a more gloomy and dark atmosphere. Considering the contents of the film, the atmosphere would be incredibly dark anyway, but the use of the black and white filter added on. Since the film was set in China during monstrous times, the realism was sold further by making the dialogue in Chinese. The characters in the play did an outstanding job with their acting and their emotions. The costumes in this film were very subpar as I believe that because this was a movie about Japanese soldiers assaulting innocent women, they should be wearing some sort of uniform. A narrative element that helped me understand the movie better is film music. As the events were intensifying, the music became more tense and it enhanced the scene. When the man was running into the closet to sexually assault the girl, you can hear the background music change from calm to apprehensive. Another narrative element used is camera movement as the shots would be from many different angles which demonstrated the dominance of the aggressor and the weakness of the Japanese girl. The last element that was used in this student film was size of shot as the cinematographer would establish medium shots of the family gathering allowing for a sense of safety and community. The purpose of Medium shots is to emphasise all the people involved in a scene.
Overall after watching this film for a second time, I feel like I have a better understanding and grasped the whole movie better. As I was watching the film for the first time, I was unable to follow the plot because I believe the transition from part 1 and part 2 was a little too sudden. I believe there needed to be something in between to provide a little context as when part 2 initially started I was a little bit confused. This is a little suggestion as I feel like the film would flow much better with that little extra wording. This film was very interesting but in my opinion I preferred the godlike student film which was a recreation of a 1999 shooting massacre in Columbine High School. The target audience for this film is definitely 18+ as I strongly believe that this content was very disturbing as the man wanted to rape the young girl. This subject matter in my opinion is very inappropriate for younger kids. I recommend this movie to people who want to learn more about the Nanking Massacre as the acting and the characters' emotions in this play seem very similar to the real incident. Overall I give this film a 3.5/5.0 stars.

Godlike (Student Film) Film Review
This student film was made by former Tss students Irene and Megan and was based on the Columbine Massacre that occurred on April 20, 1999. Two boys named Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold were at such a poor mental state that they decided to shoot up their school. These 2 kids murdered 12 students, 1 teacher and left 21 additional people injured by the gunshots. I really enjoyed the sequence of events as Irene and Megan start off by hating everyone in their surroundings for wanting to shoot up the school. All the events were in climactic order which intensified my mood as the film continued. I admired the action scene as the film had 2 very well sequenced film techniques. I found the film music, dialogue, and acting to be very successful. The film music matched the narrative of the film, and that the dialogue was well written and felt natural. The acting between Megan Melo and Irene Kim was well executed through their use of facial expressions and body language. However, I disliked the parts in which the screen was split, as the shot composition felt a bit awkward. I would also change the audio of when the two characters were speaking in the cafeteria scenes to be louder, since it was hard to hear the dialogue. As they were shooting up the school, the evil background music was used to enhance the emotional depth of the scene. Real sound was also incorporated as the gun shot effects made the scene more believable which makes the audience more engaged. I would have enjoyed it if we saw some scenes where students would bully Irene and Megan so the audience can understand their emotions and feelings better. Megan and Irene felt the urge to relieve their stress by committing a violent act. Regardless of the act of shooting and killing people being unjustifiable, I would have continued my life instead of killing myself because I would have relieved a-lot of stress after committing the violent acts. The film's purpose of educating people on this event was amazing, as Irene and Megan did an outstanding job in giving us insight on the murders psychological state and what drives them to pursue their actions. The target audience of this student film should be 18+ as it was very interesting but there was a lot of inappropriate language used. People who also want to learn more about the Columbine Massacre would be very interested in this film as the storyline is in sync. I thought that this student film was well done, and sends an important message about gun violence in the United States that is still an ongoing issue today. Overall I give this student film a 4.0/5.0 stars as regardless of it being an amazing storyline, the production was inadequate. This was a student film so I shouldn't expect much as there was a low budget and lack of technology available for usage.

Contagion Film Review
Contagion (2011) directed by Steven Soderbergh was an action-packed film about an unknown deadly virus from Hong Kong spreading around Minnesota. This deadly contagious virus is spreading like a wildfire causing a global crisis. Many cities are put in quarantine and the deadly virus was spreading fast. This film shows us how humans can react when their family is at risk. Pharmacies are robbed and the streets are chaotic, when society is at risk this event brings out the worst in humans. When family is at risk, people will do anything to protect them, whether this means violence or stealing. It is hard to trust anyone during a pandemic, when everyone was waiting in line at the pharmacy and people shoved to the front and began to steal. There is a lack of trust in society and people are driven insane during times like this. The film truly showed the audience how people react when their family is at risk. Additionally, during this pandemic, it focuses on the lack of trust we have for society during times like this. I feel like watching the consequences a big pandemic can have on a country is a wake up call for those to always be prepared. Currently, we are in a global pandemic with COVID-19 spreading rapidly. Human nature is very real in this film. There are no heroes to save humans when the disaster comes, all humans can rely on is themselves. humans naturally react in a way that will only protect themselves. In the movie, citizens are trying to secure their own lives, and are not willing to help others because they do not want to risk their own lives doing so. A narrative element that helped me understand this student film better is tone. The tone of a literary work expresses the writer's attitudes or feelings about the subject matter and in this student film, the tone is violent, chaotic, sad and tense. The tone was depressing as the whole community was paranoid and violent due to this massive outbreak. Everyone was fearing for their lives as scientists were struggling to find a cure for this deadly virus. Statistics were shown that 1-12 of the world population will be infected, with a 25%-30% mortality rate. This virus has taken the lives of millions and has caused chaos around the world, something needs to be done as the world is falling apart.
This movie was exceptional and I recommend everyone to watch it. If I would've seen this movie a few months back, I would've never believed that such a thing could happen. I would've just believed this was another fictional disaster movie. The target audience of this film is 18+ as this could potentially scare younger kids but educate the more mature audience. This film made in 2011 is very similar to the COVID-19 pandemic and can educate people on the right way to handle these types of situations. Overall after watching this fantastic student film, I rate it a 5.0/5.0.

Ghost Rwanda Film Review
Ghost Rwanda is our third and last Rwandan movie we are watching this semester, and this documentary was truly inspirational. This documentary was special as it marked the 10th anniversary of the Rwandan Genocide. April 7, 1994 - July 1994 was the Rwandan Civil War between the Hutu and Tutsi tribes in which over 800,000 people died. The Rwandan genocide was a terrible place for both parties and basic human rights began to change into their privileges. The human rights of having shelter, food, healthcare, and safety were stripped entirely from the refugees. This documentary goes in depth with people who experienced this genocide first hand as they are describing all their hardships. Compared to the other 2 Rwanda movies, I enjoyed this movie more as the usage of literary techniques really helped me get engaged in this movie regardless of it being very disturbing. The people being interviewed were very passionate and thorough describing the sequence of events. Regardless of this movie being boring to others, in my opinion I love this documentary for the sole purpose of it being educational and the footage was all real and nothing was made up. A narrative element that helped me understand the movie better is real sounds. The long pauses and the heavy breaths of the speakers as they were talking were used to inform the audiences on the amount of pain the speakers have when they are talking on such sensitive topics. I really liked this literary technique because instead of other movies cutting out the stutters and the pauses, this documentary included it to show their real feelings towards the genocide. Shot composition is another literary element that was implemented as it helped for close up shots, blurring out the backgrounds so the audience can focus more on what the speaker is saying and the use of handheld cameras. Realism can be increased with a handheld camera so the documentary's use of real raw footage was very impactful as it created such quality regardless of the camera shaking a couple of times.
Overall after watching this exceptional documentary, I gained lots of knowledge about the genocide. The speeches were fantastic, the real raw footage was very interesting and the camera work was amazing. This documentary was very informative and I would love to look forward to watching another documentary based on another issue. The target audience of Hotel Rwanda should be 18+ as there is a combination of a lot of violent scenes, and people need to grasp the Rwandan Genocide information. This is very educational so younger kids would not enjoy it as it's not an adventure/drama based film. I would overall recommend this movie for adults wanting to learn more about the genocide and understand that we do not live in such a utopian world where everything is perfect. The sad reality of the hardships that the Rwandans had to go through were terrible and I was disgusted to watch their fundamental human rights fade away. I give this documentary 5.0/5.0 stars.

Children of Men Film Review
It was the year 2027. In this dystopian world, an infertility crisis struck humanity, and the United Kingdom was heading towards species extinction. Humans were unable to reproduce for no apparent reason, and the last child was born 18 years ago. The film is based around a character named Theo, who is a bureaucrat living in London. As the UK had one of the only functioning governments left, thousands of immigrants began flooding in the nation. Still, because of the refugee policies, they were transferred to refugee camps. Theo was kidnapped from a group called the fishes who were fighting for equality for refugees, and the leader Julian (Theo's Ex-Wife) wanted Theo to get transit papers so they can get a young refugee to the coast. Once Theo found out she was pregnant, he was destined to get her to the human project. I enjoyed the storyline and the sacrifices and risks Theo took to save Kee. In most dystopian films, a sacrifice was seen as a necessity to achieve progress. Miriam was one of the characters that stuck with Kee throughout the journey and sacrificed her safety to protect Kee from Syd. Julian and Theo also died for Kee to get to the human project safely.
A narrative element that helped me understand the movie better is real colours. The movie's feelings were expressed through different colours as the scenes about the refugees were dark and dull themed. As the government was mistreating the refugees, the dark theme represents things that are gloomy, and the sadness that prevails from being harmed by the government. Focal Shot and definition was a significant film technique that was repeated in countless scenes. Cuaron would widen the camera lens to allow us as viewers to see different events happening at the same time in the same scene. In the scene where Theo, Julian, an officer and Kee were in the car, Cuaron widened the camera, which helped viewers realize that Juliana and Theo had a past relationship. After watching this movie, I was curious about what would happen if society was spontaneously unable to reproduce. I believe homo sapiens would go extinct, and wildlife will prevail, returning to its original natural form. Overall after watching this movie, I really liked the character development of Theo. Heroes can be specified as courageous and inspirational protagonists who have induced a positive impact. In Children of Men, I believe Theo is strong-willed. The target audience of Children of Men should be people interested in the Totalitarian government and how corrupt and unfair they treat refugees. I also recommend this film to people that have not explored Dystopian films as I highly recommend you do so. Overall this movie should be 18+ as there are a lot of mature scenes such as the burning of dead animals, bloody bodies, drugs and numerous fighting scenes. In conclusion, I give this movie a 4.0/5.0 stars.

Hotel Rwanda Film Review
Hotel Rwanda was a dramatic film directed by Terry George in 2004. This movie told the real-life event through a hotel manager named Paul Rusesabagina's perspective. During the Rwandan genocide in 1994, tensions between the Hutus and the Tutsi’s tribe lead to this war. As the genocide was breaking out, there was no way for Paul Rusesabagina to escape as he was a Hutu, but his wife, Tatiana, was a Tutsi. Paul became a hero once he saved over 1200 Hutus and Tutsi refugees from the Interahamwe military. The Interahamwe was the ruling party of Rwanda at that time and were the leading criminals of the genocide as they killed over 500,000 Tutsi’s. Hotel Rwanda had an intense and emotional mood with the use of some film techniques such as physical relations and Film music. As the Interhamwe group was roaming the streets, you could see how helpless the refugees were. They were unable to protect themselves, and in some scenes, the Interahamwe militia was holding a gun right into their face. You can see that in those scenes, physical relations played a massive part as you know the connection between the refugees and the militia. The film music in Hotel Rwanda was sombre and depressing as it correlates to the mood of the film. The Rwandan genocide was a terrible place for both parties and fundamental human rights began to change into their privileges. The human rights of having shelter, food, healthcare and safety were stripped entirely from all the refugees. Paul Rusesabagina not only hid 1200 refugees, but he also provided them with basic necessities such as food and water.
Overall after watching this exceptional documentary, I believe that Paul Rusesabagina was a true hero, and his character development throughout the movie was genuinely inspirational. At the beginning of the film, Paul was self-centred and only cared about the safety of his wife and their 4 kids but later had empathy for the helpless refugees. As the Rwandan genocide was between the two different tribes, regardless of Paul being part of the Hutu tribe, he did everything in his power to help all the refugees, even if they were from the opposing tribe. I am a huge horror movie fan, but the violent scenes where refugees being beaten were really heartbreaking. This movie helps me reevaluate my life and be grateful for having fundamental human rights. The target audience of Hotel Rwanda should be 18+ as there is a combination of a lot of violent scenes, and people need to grasp the Rwandan Genocide information. I would overall recommend this movie for adults wanting to learn more about the genocide and understand that we do not live in such a utopian world where everything is perfect. The sad reality of the hardships that the Rwandans had to go through were terrible and that the US could have saved many more lives if they send as little as a few thousand troops. In conclusion, I give this documentary a 4.5/5.0 stars.

V for Vendetta Film Review
V for Vendetta is a film that encourages people to stand up for their rights and not let the government strip them of their freedom. V for Vendetta takes place in a dystopian London where the political system is totalitarianism as the government or ruling group has complete control and authority over everyone. People in London were enforced on strict rules such as being unable to be out late, and unable to have public television as it was all government-based. Everyone in the community followed the government’s rules, but V had intentions of oppression against the regime. V’s objective was to bring awareness and motivate the citizens on fighting against the government’s corrupt actions as everyone was stripped of their rights and freedom. The audience watching this movie usually cannot decide whether V would be considered an evil character or a superhero; throughout the movie, he shows both traits. V for Vendetta had an intense and emotional mood by the use of some film techniques such as Lighting, Film music, and the camera shot composition. Whenever V is on the TV, the lighting is used to show deep shadows, and the loss of emotions V has. Another film technique that plays a huge role in the movie is Costume/Make-up. V has never been seen without a mask as he is always wearing a Guy Fawkes mask. The Guy Fawkes mask symbolises standing up for your rights and powers against the government and social justice against laws. V for Vendetta’s target audience should be between Teens and Young adults as the movie goes in-depth with legislation and politics, and I could understand that kids under the age of 13 will not fully grasp the understanding and ultimately get bored. There is a lot of action in this movie, which I feel would interest young adults and teens more than older adults.
Overall after watching this movie for a second time, I felt like I understood lots of different film techniques and moods that I never knew before, which made me more interested in this movie. I really enjoy watching a dystopian film as it always interests me how the protagonists are going to stand up for their rights and fight for social justice or give in to the law. I love watching the protagonists face such hardships and how they are able to react in a brave way or react in a way that makes their situation even more complicated. I also really liked the message of the movie as people should stand up for their freedom from the government oppressions instead of following the fa system. As the movie was over 2 hours, I was beginning to get very bored, and the action scenes were not enough to keep me watching. Regardless of my understanding of this movie through many different points of view, I feel like out of all the variety of dystopian films I’ve watched, and This was the least fascinating. Overall I give this movie 3.0/5.0 stars.

Shake Hands with the Devil Film Review
Shake hands with a Devil is a 2007 Canadian War drama film starring Roy Dupuis as Romeo Dallaire. General Romeo Dallaire served as a force commander of the UN peacekeeping force between 1993-1994. During the genocide, he desperately tried to stop the Hutu extremists from attacking the Tutsi tribe. General Romeo Dallaire shows the rest of the story of the genocide from his point of view. Romeo Dallaire arrives at Kigali with one of his forces, which had 2500 of his peacekeepers, to keep the peace between Tutsis and Hutus. As Romeo was trying to negotiate with both parties, no parties were agreeing, and Hutu extremists began stocking up on weapons, and the Tutsi tribe began forming a rebel army. Dallaire was the Lieutenant general, and he had a massive command of saving the Rwandan genocide while being denied the resources needed to do the job and then having to try to protect a country of 8 million from slaughter with a force of 500, many of whom were under-trained and all of whom were under-equipped. This only begins to describe how inadequate UNAMIR was to the task of protecting the Rwandans. An essential Element of the Narrative technique that was used is Camera movement as one of the fighting scenes was filmed with a hand-held camera, which made the scene more realistic. The setting was another huge film technique used as most of the views were shot in the real events that the genocide occurred in. This was used to increase realism, and it helped us as readers visually grasp the viewing experience.
Overall after watching this exceptional documentary, I believe that Romeo Dallaire was a true hero, and his political view on Rwanda was unique. Dallaire's perseverance and dedication to stop the genocide really made him an inspiration. He is unfortunately still dealing with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and a lot of other psychological problems, but he overcomes these hardships by public speaking. He speaks with such compassion about his past life stories, and he will continue to raise awareness for Mental health. The target audience of Shake Hands with the Devil should be 18+ as there are some disturbing images and disturbing languages but not as mild as Hotel Rwanda. In my personal opinion, I enjoyed Hotel Rwanda a little more as from a viewer's perspective, there were more action scenes compared to Shake Hands with the Devil as that was more about the political views. Both Shake Hands with the Devil and Hotel Rwanda my Rwandan genocide knowledge and were both well-made movies. I would overall recommend this movie for adults wanting to learn more about the genocide and Romeo Dallaire's life political view on the genocide. The sad reality of the hardships that Romeo Dallaire had too overcome to be the inspiration he is mind-blows me. In conclusion, I rate this movie a 4.0/5.0 stars because I was confused at the introduction and did not have a strong hook.

Minority Report Film Review
Minority report is a movie based on the old movie called The Minority Report, which was made in 1956. In 2002, they released Minority Report, which was a film taking place in 2054 in Washington, DC. The protagonist, John Anderton, is the creator and head of Precrime. Humans (precogs) are utilized as surveillance cameras as they are tied in beds and floating in the water as imprisonment to use their cognitive capabilities to determine the future. Precogs are a unique ability that the government uses to foresee crimes before they are committed. The main goal of this agency is to decrease the murder rate to zero percent rapidly. As John Anderton meets his new assistant (Witer), Anderton immediately finds out from the precognitive data that he will murder a man named Kaplan, and he is shocked and in disbelief about the outcome of the data. As Anderton meets Mr. Kaplan, He begins to explain to him and tells him he has no intention of killing him, and he is being framed. As Anderton was too busy fighting off problems of his own such as his wife and Fleming, who was an army major, Kaplan copied all the reports, and at the rally, he will read out the minority report to the public. As Kaplan's goal is to discredit Precrime, Anderton concludes that he will murder Kaplan as that's what the reports said he would do. Minority Report's filmmakers intended to show the viewers the advancements of technology in the future and how futuristic the society will become in 30 years. The mood of Minority Report changes as the viewers are so excited and happy that the murder rate of the community will go down to 0% and believe that John Anderton is a hero. Once viewers notice that the precogs accused Anderton of murdering someone, everyone was with him and were deeply in shock.
Although society is believed to be safer without these potential criminals, I wouldn't say I like this advanced technology social justice system. John Anaderton's wife, Lisa, mentions that precrime prisons innocent people. With this precrime method, it imprisons people before they commit the crime, so when the time comes for them to do the crime, they are unable because they are in a detention camp. This is a dysfunctional community as people can understand other's perspectives and maybe even change their minds, so they end up not carrying out the crime. In a functional society, you have no right to prison innocent people as they are still considered acquittal. I love how this futuristic movie portrays both dystopia and utopian aspects. I also overall like Tom Cruise as an actor, and he did an exceptional job playing the role of the protagonist John Anderton. The target audience of this movie should be between Teens and Young adults as there are some strong language and graphic scenes such as the man stabbing his wife with a knife and the man shot falling from the window. In conclusion, I give this movie 4.5/5.0 stars.
