Leaked Ep. 3 Cut Content

For the past couple months, leaks about episode 3′s development have been coming from two different people who knew beta testers that got to play early drafts of the game.

They cut sooooo much stuff. And I’m 99% sure the leaks were real and not a troll because they got so many details right and knew things like what days information was going to be announced and what songs would play in what parts. A lot of the stuff they said would happen, did happen. According to them, Deck Nine cut the best parts of the episode:

There was a scene with Steph where Chloe would talk about Rachel

Chloe would tell Steph she was realizing that she was a lesbian (and supposedly she was going to be very explicit in her language here. no “uh idk i think i might like girls no labels tho”)

Chloe and Steph were going to hug

There were multiple kisses

There was an implied sex scene

The bedroom scene was longer and you could talk to Rachel about running away.

There may have been a morning scene where you could change into Rachel’s clothes at her house.

Rachel initially wasn’t supposed to get hurt because Sera would save her

Sera and Rachel would actually speak

Sera was confirmed supernatural. She apparently had something to do with the crows and Chloe’s dreams.

There was a choice where Sera wanted Rachel to come back to California with her and Chloe could be for it or ask Rachel to stay in Arcadia (shit happened afterward and Rachel would always ended up staying though)

Sera knew about Chloe and Rachel’s relationship

Rachel was going to kick Eliot’s ass when he got creepy on Chloe

Rachel was going to be there when Chloe got knocked out by Damon

It was going to be Rachel’s idea for Chloe to dye her hair

Rachel was going to be with Chloe when she dyed her hair

Rachel was going to meet Joyce and David and defend Chloe against David (this may have been dependent on if you’ve pissed off David)

Max was originally in the play dream sequence

Max was going to be mentioned in the epilogue

Drew, Mikey, and Steph had more plot around their involvement with Damon

Supposedly even in the “just friends” path Chloe said something that implied she had romantic feelings for Rachel in the ending.

There was supposed to be a lot of really cute dialogue in the epilogue scenes. (You can honestly tell this is true because they went through the trouble of animating the characters talking and it looks like the dialogue just never got put in)

There was a kiss at the end (depending on intimacy)

There were 6 variations on the endings (3 for each, I believe, and I believe this had to do with your intimacy counter with Rachel.)

All endings were meant to be happy. No mention of the dark room being shown at the end.

The information came from beta testers which means that Deck Nine had all of this content. They wrote it and they voiced it and they animated it. It’s not like they cut it because it was Too Much to do. They literally…. did it… and then just… threw it away???? At least that’s my understanding. I’m SO baffled right now tbh.

Even if the beta testers were somehow lying and coincidentally managed to get insanely weird details correct, their fake episode 3 was better than the real one, and I’m pretending this is the version we actually got.

Writing can be a soul-crushing experience. You can spend weeks, months, or even years on a single work and not get any response to it. Because of that possibility, putting that work out there, through a website or publisher or even just to a close friend, is terrifying. 

I’ve received many kind words whilst releasing my LGBT mystery/adventure book, Jam Jars. Praise and constructive criticism both being equally appreciated and welcome. I can’t express how happy such support makes me, how fantastic it is to get to engage with the people consuming what I’ve created. Interaction with the readers is one of the best parts of publishing online through platforms such as AO3 or Wattpad.

Never feel like you can’t tell a writer you love their work or give them a few kindly constructed opinions on how they could improve. It’s what motivates someone to write and to keep writing. Without such support, a writer thinks that their work isn’t good enough, and such a feeling is soul-crushing, especially when they’re giving their work away for free. Just leaving a like can be the difference between a writer giving up or not. 

Thank you to all you lovely readers who make writing possible and who keep writers going. You are the driving force behind literature and your comments/likes/kudos are always appreciated. 

And to you writers out there, keep going, you’re doing great. Just remember, every mistake is a chance for improvement, and you can’t improve without being brave and putting your stuff out there.

How to treat artist: on tumblr

don’t rush them to draw something. if you want something drawn fast, do it yourself.

don’t like their style? whatever, it’s your opinion. but don’t tell them its bad!

if you like something they drew, then TELL THEM! PRAISE THEIR WORK! artist need every bit of motivation.

constructive criticism is always good, but don’t flat out tell them they suck.

everyone has their own style. if they draw a certain character a bit different than you want it to look, then that’s ok. don’t like it, again, DRAW IT YOURSELF

if they are asking for payment for request or commissions, DON’T COMPLAIN!! artist need money just like everyone else, and art supplies are very expensive!

if they try a new art style DON’T TELL THEM THEY SHOULD JUST STICK WITH WHAT “THERE GOOD AT” that’s just plain rude. period.

don’t hate an artist just because they only draw one thing, or draw all kinds of things. unless your paying them real hard CASH to draw for you, then you don’t have a say on what they are doing. actually…

UNLESS YOU PAY THEM, YOU CANT TELL THEM WHAT TO DO AT ALL. PERIOD. END OF STORY.

TREAT THEM LIKE HUMANS. NOT MACHINES. they need to eat, sleep, and mess around just like everyone else. give them a break.

ART IS ART, WRITING, DRAWING, PAINTING, IT’S ALL ART! Don’t tell someone writing isn’t art, or singing, or painting, IT’S ALL A FORM OF ART!!

artist are consistently improving. just because they might not be all that great now, does not mean they wont improve! stick by them, encourage them, no matter what!

EVERYONE HAS THAT ONE WORK. every artist has that one piece of art that sucks, alright? EVERYONE. so, don’t judge an artist just by their one work of art that isn’t as good as the rest. we all mess up.

and lastly, JUST TREAT THEM LIKE HUMANS, OK???????

This, a thousand times this.

And its not just Books you buy, The stories ect that people put up on Fan-fiction etc deserve the same treatment, The Authors have taken the time to write the story THEY created, There letting you into their world,

Seriously it's the best feeling in the world when an author wakes up, checks their e-mail and finds they have a review or two on their stories, Even if it's just, a thank you, he'll start a chat about what you think is going to happen, predictions, this ALONE helps writers. Take Olivia for example, She writes so well, I have predicted events in several of her stories before there even written or I've got to them. Sometimes she makes a mistake, (It happens to us all) Ill point it out for her and she is GREATFUL, It means her readers are PAYING attention, and what she's writing warrants attention.

A follow is nice, But taking 2min to put a few words in that box MAKES or BREAKS a story, It gives writers another reason to carry on, and can REALLY help them out of a rut, and put them in a REALLY good mood for the rest of the day.

Honestly, if you’ve just taken the time to read a 50k + word story, Surly it deserves a 2 min response
