I open another tab to YouTube, hoping to find some familiar video I can put on to ease the white noise of my head so I can think.

I find a playlist. “this playlist will make you feel like a 19th century villain”. I laugh, I click on it to see what lies in store.

An hour passes in a blink. I am sweaty, breathing heavily, my hands ache. I look back to my computer. I’ve written 3 more chapters of absolute torture for my characters, with their only comforts being each other’s arms and the promise of a softer tomorrow.

I close to document and the playlist, proud of my work.

I'd imagine that each kind of Darkspawn has a different taste, too. I'd imagine the Ogres as the equivalent of beef (do they taste like beef? No, absolutely, they taste indescribable, but the equivalent is beef) or like, Alphas are like A1 Wagyu steak. Emissaries got magic so maybe they're spicy by default.
