Edit to original post: Disem'bodied', Discrepancy or Discretion maybe?
I was wondering which "Dis-" word you might use for the fourth fic in the series and the first thing that popped into my head was "Dismembered" SKFJKDJF NOOOO 😭😭😭 Anyway I look forward to finding out
Haha, I still haven't decided on a name yet! I was actually thinking I might put some options in a Tumblr poll...
Of course, that'll have to wait until I upload the last chapter of Disillusioned and it becomes obvious what the fourth fic is going to be about.
But until then, I do need to look through a list of Dis- words and see if anything jumps out at me.

"But if you're really concerned about Daniel's immune system…" Vlad held up one hand and casually observed his fingernails, rubbing each against his thumb. "I'd be happy to clone him and harvest a new spleen." He lowered his hand. "I could even transplant it for you."
Maddie glared at him. "That's sick. You're sick."
Commentary Below:
I'm fumbling with my words on this chapter. Imekitty, this chapter is one of your best ones from the Dis series. Maddie is FINALLY feeling the full weight and consequence of her unwitting capture and medical torture of her son. I won't lie and say I didn't feel bad for her when Jack refused her advances. She really wanted just a moment of normalcy, or a semblance of a past romantic time with the kids out. But holly hell! The narcissist in her was cranked up to an 11
(the dialogue with Vlad's unreciprocated love to her and offering his help to overshadow Jack. The silent satisfaction she had at knowing Vlad will always bend over backwards in a 1 sided, non committal relationship. And Old fool and simp on his part. Maddie using his puppy love and her natural good look to keep favors in line for her with Vlad. And to be fair Vlad has unhealthy/negative views on relationships if we look at that canon episode where he did marry Maddie forgot name of it/can't think of it right now) and Maddie's rambling thoughts when Jack wouldn't readily forgive her for some sexy time.
She no longer feels like the 'alpha'--helicopter mom and partner. And that's too be expected given the circumstances of this hush hush drama. Plus giving him mental/parental agency to shaft (pun intended) sexual intimacy to discover Danny's real PTSD incident is very interesting. I felt like you did some kind of cheeky, implied 4th wall quip when Vlad suggested cloning him for spleen harvest. The suggestion, or rather, the unburdened READINESS of Vlad to make a Danny clone and do the replacement surgery for FREE is something he wouldn't mind doing. (Though Danny's flight or fight instincts would kick into overdrive if Vlad or Maddie took him down another lab).
XD but we all know he'll gain something from enacting such a request. Plus Maddie wouldn't take kindly in anyone ELSE doing the old 'for your own good/curious' medical procedures on her son. I also LOVE how she confronted and scolded VLAD for being a immature man-child for not telling Danny's secret to her at their reunion! At least In this story, Vlad will always simp for her, despite him doing or saying extra smugness and jabs to Danny and her, getting an ego boost from the Fenton turmoil.
Don't get me started on the disgusting idea Elise the Lawyer had with Vlad. That's too demoralizing and repulsive of an idea to spin to the public. Plus wouldn't she be investigated by the GWI if they were to go with the affair angle? They might believe she'll have ghost DNA in her system or Phantom DNA in her and take her for testing. The GWI vans following and watching the Fentons is another looming threat they all need to spice up this drama.

Paulina's pet name for Danny will always be "ghost boy." <3 He just calls her "babe."

Hello imekitty! I too reach yout latest Planned chp! I was chuckling to myself towards the end because of what Danny told them to do. It was a subversive trope I would think, the child grounding their parents and a bit ackward in serious/tense situation. At least danny ancknowledged he wouldnt harm his parents, though Maddie might need a backhand slap. It was very smart ane considerate of Danny giving his 26th clone a head start before Maddie's inevitable pursuit of him. And really Maddie, this is why you needed a contigency plan agisnt real Danny. Smh, should've had a tranq gun or something before barging down that door.
Hey! So I just accidentally read chapter 25 of Planned, because I have your user ao3 subscription notifications and clicked in thinking it was a fic I was already following. Despite my confusion, I’m super interested in this story! But I have to ask if you don’t mind, is this angst with a happy ending or no happy ending? The minimal tags made me nervous 😅 I’d love to dive in from the beginning, but I’m not sure if I can do that without knowing there’s light at the end of the tunnel
If you’d rather not answer, that’s totally fine, just figured I’d ask!
Hmm, it really depends on what you consider happy/not happy lol. But I will say that there is no major character death, if that helps at all? I never actually try to make an ending particular happy or sad, I just go with what I feel is satisfying or makes sense. But when it comes to angst, I think most of my endings are bittersweet at best, never truly happy. But also only sometimes completely devastating or tragic (The End of Danny is the only fic of mine I can think of that has a truly tragic ending).
But something to keep in mind about Planned is that it's not presented in chronological order. It started out as a response to a prompt and then I started adding on new spins on scenes from the show as I thought of them. Which means that I don't really have a concrete ending planned out, I could keep going for a while, adding new ideas as I think of them.
If you decide to read it, I hope you like it! :D

take your time getting back to your healthy self. "Absence makes the heart grow/fonder" is a saying i think. Cant wait for your next DIS chapter :)
Hey all, I took much a longer break from writing than I meant to. I stopped writing the middle of December due to moving to a new state plus the holidays with family but my plan was to start writing again the first week of January. However, I got really sick New Year's Eve, like so sick I actually thought I was maybe dying lol. My anxiety was absolutely through the roof, but having pretty extreme anxiety helps me write pretty good angst, so you all benefit from my suffering! :D
Anyway, I wasn't able to write this past month because I'm only just now starting to feel somewhat normal again. I still have some lingering issues and I'm not completely convinced I'm not somehow dying, but I am setting a goal to write at least 15k words during February in addition to uploading the last chapter of Ghost on the Couch some time this week. Don't write me off yet! Still alive for now...

Gasp O0O. Did Vlad suggests she, and possibly he, do some kind of sneaky DNA test on traumatized Danny? Or have you incorporated the 'ghost hunger' fandom theme for this upcoming or future chapters? As in, Vlad offers an alternative care treatment, but involves ghost protein; or their equivalent of blood that can be given intravenously? Or Danny would have to ingest but can't stomach the taste? Will Maddie and/or Vlad force feed Danny something he'd be against cause its gross? Your last sentence "Perhaps as a last resort if the situation gets desperate." Force feeding him the 'bodily' component of ghosts to restore what Maddie damaged?
Today I worked on:
Disillusioned: 588 words
Last sentences written (from Disillusioned):
“It’s just something to think about, Maddie,” said Vlad softly, holding out a hand to help her up. “Perhaps as a last resort if the situation gets desperate.”
Hahahaha you'll never guess what Vlad just suggested to her.

Indeed they both have wacky placements going on!
The way they drew Jazz being excited with the eyebrows coming off her face seems weirdly out of place but also the placement of the cupboard handles behind Maddie's head making her look even more like a bug lol.

@Imekitty, Can't believe how simple you made your Dis and Lexo DP summaries. *insert skeleton emoji* I can't even for Lexo's one. Its like the tone of Darcia from Darcia cartoon! Or a Deadpool--ish 4th wall tone XD
Writers!! Describe your current WIP(s) in the most boring way possible. I want to see this skdjfkdfhk

Real Danny's plan is to what exactly? Have them feel deeply guilty and remorseful once they realize he doesn't have a tattoo on his arm?
Will Maddie notice the clone doesn't have a tattoo on his arm? Maybe Jack? Will she dismiss it as 'one off' from Vlad? Or has Vlad already called/text Maddie after awaking from Danny's ghostly wail? Suspension and tension indeed!
Danny finds his clone in the Fenton Works lab.
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7, Part 8, Part 9, Part 10, Part 11, Part 12, Part 13, Part 14, Part 15, Part 16, Part 17, Part 18, Part 19, Part 20, Part 21, Part 22
-----
It couldn't be true—
It couldn't be true—
It couldn't it couldn't it couldn't be—
Danny denied it over and over like a mantra, a broken record stuck in a painful loop as he flew home as fast as he could.
Because he didn't want to believe any of it. Vlad had to be lying. His parents wouldn't do that to him. His mom wouldn't do that to him.
But all the clues, the scattered bits and pieces that were at first perplexing and nonsensical were now falling into place.
Don't you know what they've done to us? To you?
His ultimate enemy's words had no meaning for him before but now they all rushed back into his head making such terrifying sense.
And then a second ultimate enemy, a number tattooed on his upper arm just like all the dead clones in that graveyard.
I was created to be used and then destroyed. To live a short time before she killed me.
She. She.
He did not want to believe that she could be his mother.
It had to be a lie. He would go home and down into the lab and there would be no clone there. He was sure of it.
He wanted to be sure of it.
Danny phased through the walls of Fenton Works and maintained his ghost form as he searched for his parents. He found them upstairs in their room with the door shut, their voices muffled as they spoke about something. Danny stood outside a moment before floating away, past Jazz's door and down the stairs, down to the basement. Taking the long way instead of just phasing through the floor because he was stalling, afraid of what he might find once he reached the lab.
The lab was dark. Danny switched on a light and went down the stairs, one step at a time, slowly, slowly, holding his breath.
God, he didn't want to keep going. He wanted to go back up to his room and hide under his covers.
But he gripped the stair rail and continued his descent, down into whatever hell was waiting for him.
He froze when he saw what was belted to the main examination table.
No, not what. Who was on the table.
Unmoving. Sleeping. Or perhaps unconscious.
Danny approached the table to get a better look, but even from a distance, he recognized that thick dark hair, the point of that nose, the curve of that neck, the jut of those eyebrows.
He had seen them in photographs. In mirrors. Every day for over sixteen years.
"Oh, my God," he breathed out, not even realizing he had been holding his breath.
He braced himself against the table, leaning and hanging his head, on the edge of hyperventilating. Gathering courage, he looked up again and studied the clone. On his back with his arms down by his sides, dressed in a hospital gown, wrists and ankles strapped to the table with anti-ghost belts pulled tight. No cuts or incisions, no signs of trauma. It appeared the experimentation had not yet begun for this clone.
A flash of memory. The second incarnation of his ultimate enemy pulled down his sleeve, revealing a tattoo of the number 26.
Danny shakily lifted the right sleeve of the clone's hospital gown. The number 26 was tattooed in black on the clone's upper arm.
One day you will see me again. I won't look like this, but you'll know it's me when you see this number. And then you'll understand.
Yes. Danny understood now. The past version of his second dark enemy looked very different indeed.
A small metal side table stood nearby, holding tools and a clipboard. Danny picked up the clipboard and leafed through the sheets of paper clipped to it. Notes written in his mother's handwriting, details and instructions for what was to be done with Clone 26.
Flay the skin away from the arm in one piece if possible so it can be restitched on, will see how quickly and how well it is able to reattach and heal—
Danny dropped the clipboard, which clattered back onto the metal side table. He covered his mouth and turned back to look at the sleeping clone, so peaceful and unaware of the horrors planned for him. No white hair, no ghostly complexion. His skin was warm and pink with blood, his lashes dark on his closed eyes.
His mother was planning on destroying him knowing full well he was her son.
She wasn't even going to pretend he was just a ghost.
Danny stood there. Motionless. Staring. Hell stared back at him.
An involuntary shudder jarred the return of his senses. His parents were probably going to come down soon.
He made a decision in just a split second and knew he had to act quickly. No time to think or consider his options.
He loosened each belt holding the clone to the table and lifted him, one arm supporting his back, the other beneath his knees. The clone did not wake as Danny jumped into the air and phased through the ceiling, up and up to his bedroom. He laid the clone on his bed and pulled a pair of jeans and a T-shirt out of his dresser drawers. He removed the hospital gown and redressed the clone in his own clothes, stepping back when he was done, watching as the clone continued sleeping supine on his bed, on top of the covers.
God, the clone really did look exactly like him.
He heard shuffling noises from his parents' bedroom down the hall. Still holding the clone's hospital gown in his hands, he dropped through the floor, all the way back down into the basement lab. He changed into his human form and quickly stripped out of his clothes, phasing all of them off and tossing them out of sight. He then slipped on the hospital gown, shivering in the frigid, sterile lab air.
He imagined all of the clones that had been here. That had died here.
Such a frightening place to wake up in.
He climbed onto the lab table and placed the four belt restraints around his wrists and ankles, loose enough that he could easily slip out of them. He then lay back on the cold metal surface and closed his eyes, breathing deeply, trying to control the erratic tremors seizing his whole body.
Then he waited. And listened.
His heart began racing when he heard the basement door open.

@imekitty Read chp 7 of Disillusioned. Love the normalcy you wrote between the Fenton's. Too bad Maddie denied Danny's chore of washing dishes. I agreed with Jack that he should pick back up on his home chores to be reacquainted with his daily musings. *even through it won't be the same routine post reveal* Also, I don't like seeing the italicized sentences of Maddie's doubts and guilty pleasures! No woman! keep your paranoia and doubts to yourself! XD one would think if it were just Phantom pretending to be Danny after ALL that bullshit you put him through, then you deserve to loose custody of Danny.
And her insistence of keeping him home is smothering! Like I know she worry he might dip out for good, which he rightfully do so, if not for Jazz and Sam in particular. But she said maybe "he won't have to go to college?!" *paraphrasing* I'm like 'Ma'am, your in your late 30s/40s. You want your son to mature into a perpetual, mother fearing (pun intended) shut-in?!XD.
Maddie's vice is her mad doctor obsession with Phantom! I'd rather side with Jack's fudge addiction than have a dark/amoral pleasure for your kin. I like how you made Maddie realize how sneaky Vlad is, Vlad def wants something to gain out of this when things come crashing down. OH! maybe he'll tell Jack what happened if Maddie were to reject an advance or she pisses him off.
And are you foreshadowing something with the news segment in there? 'Ghost don't loose/abandon their obsessions'. Will Maddie try a test of sorts, provoke Danny's obsession in hopes of helping him recovery faster? Will she delude herself into thinking Phantom came home, not Danny? (sedate him while sleeping in his room for 'follow-up' exams?) Find out next time on DBZ er, Dis series! :3
