Hi, I am a Quilter, Runner, Gardener from New Zealand. I have a Blue Design Wall in my tiny sewing room where you can see what quilting projects I am working on. I will take you running with me and you can come for a walk in my garden and see what is growing. Thanks for popping in.

It was a pretty frosty long run this morning. Freezing in the forest. I had to do a loop in the sun mid run to warm up. Slow and steady got the job done.

I seem to be having a bit of trouble with motivation. I am finding it extremely hard to move off the couch and away from the fire this morning. Long run might be late run today.

We started our Matariki holiday with a walk on the beach. I have never seen so many dogs on the beach at one time. The rest of our day was spent pottering in the garden, cooking, chatting with the neighbours, doing housework and finally with a bit of hand quilting. A nice relaxing day.

What a great run. We got away from work on time today so I was keen to get out for a run. It was warmer than it has been in a long time and as I ran into the forest I ran through warm pockets of air. I spotted a cute painted stone on the side of the trail as I ran into the forest. I re-homed it out of the mud to a log by the beach. Once that was done I ran as hard as I could down the beach to the big pipe. From there home over the sand dunes and a final burst of speed across the park which felt really strong all the way.

We left work a little earlier today which gave me the opportunity to run in the forest and down to the beach. It was freezing out there but beautiful, don't you think?

It was minus 2 when I set out for my run this morning. There was a bike race happening so I could not run my usual hilly start. I got two hills in then ran into the forest. It was even colder in the trees but the sun was breaking through and making for some pretty cool sights to enjoy as I ran.

I started hand quilting my batik table runner last night. I made this back in 2014 and put it aside to quilt when I got a better sewing machine. I never got the fancy machine so I have decided to hand quilt this and get it out of my cupboard and onto my table. The batting is a bit too thick for hand quilting but I didn't realise that until I had struggled through an evening of quilting. I was blaming the needle I was using but I thought about it later and I think it is the batting. I can either unpick all my stitches and replace the batting or I can just keep going. Hmmm something to think about while I do the housework this afternoon.

I have been really busy lately but I have still been chipping away at attaching the side panels to the mother ship. Finally tonight it is done. I think I will take a break from this for now and work on some hand quilting projects. I will need to cut out and make some more hexies for the top and bottom. I am not sure exactly how many I will need to make but I think it is guaranteed it will not be a small number.

I waited. I was very patient. In the end I gave up waiting for the rain to stop and just headed out for a run. There was some beautiful birdsong in the forest so I ran very slow and tried to spot the singer. The beach was deserted and grey so I ran down to the exit that would give me 6kms and then headed towards home. It was good to get out there and run. This is my first run this week. The weather has been pretty wintery around here.

I wasn't going to go for a run today. Sleety rain and wind are not my favourite running conditions. I slept in and had a slow breakfast in front of the fire. Some sun broke through the clouds mid morning and that was enough to change my mind. I rugged up and headed out for a run around the neighbourhood. My suspicions were confirmed when I saw the Port Hills and the Southern Alps. Both are coated in snow. Usually when I run in such conditions I peel off layers as I warm up. Zero layers were peeled off on today's run.

Panel 3 is now attached to the mother ship. I even got panel 4 started too. That is enough for today I think. Night all.

Today was a tough day, really tough. We had to move Mum to her new home today and well it was a day. I thought I could run it off when I got home but it was just too overwhelming. I ended up on the beach a blubbering mess. But hey the beach was beautiful before the tears flowed and after. I made it home despite it being very hard to breathe. No good stats to see here, however I did get a badge for World Environment Day and a big hug when I ran in the door.

I have made a start on attaching panel 3 to the mother ship tonight. It is slow progress as I have super sore eyes. Eight hours staring at a laptop screen will do that to you. Happy I have made a start though. Night night.

It was raining most of the day so I was light on steps. I decided to go for a run around the neighbourhood to get the steps I was missing. I really like running in the rain so I was disappointed the rain stopped as I walked out the door. I enjoyed the run, got the steps and a bonus badge for Global Running Day. Nice.

A bad picture of me in the dark after my run tonight. We were late getting home and then my phone rang just as I was heading out the door. Out the door I went anyway and by the time I ran back in the door it was dark and chilly.
