It's been on my list for a long time because I also think it would be up my alley. I love a story driven game and a flawed protagonist. But, I almost always end up picking something else when I pick a new game up because I remember there being some controversy around the development of the game. Also because I don't know enough about the game to know whether to buy original or final cut, and I'm always hesitant to look into these questions too much because I know it's a game I would want to play without too many spoilers.

Archives and Libraries play such an important role in societies to help preserve and share knowledge/information and culture and so on, so I'm always going to be on the side of something like this, especially when the people going against it are huge companies. I think it would be a little different if it was like an independent writer or artist who had an issue with something like this, but that's so rarely the case.

important to note than there are also gofundmes for Palestinians who need funds to rebuild their homes and businesses that need as much attention as gofundmes for those fleeing genocide. I feel like helping Palestinians shouldn't be synonymous with displacement.

I don't want to go into specifics because it was a pretty unique class and I try to remain as private as I can in online spaces. But it was an upper college level course.

Check out this brief overview of a court ruling that has forced the internet archive to remove a shit ton of books (they're currently trying to appeal the decision) and there's another link at the end to sign a petition.

First and foremost I believe in open access, but also the argument that publishers are making that a resource like the internet archive cuts into their profits is absurd. When people utilize a free service like this it's often because they don't have the funds to do otherwise, or weren't interested enough to pay for it in the first place. Those people were never going to pay for the product, and thus there is no loss of revenue.
