How does homeworld make gems?

To start off let's look at peridots lines.

"They can't make gems like they used to"

And

"You're going to HARVEST me?!"

During the drilling scene while Steven and peridot are drilling downwards into what Steven thinks is lava, peridot corrects him saying:

"it's heated peridotite"

When Steven noticed that it was "peridot-ite?" Peri nods and says "it's made from the same stuff as peridots"

So there are a few things we can take away from this:

1: home world is running out of resources.

2: some gems can be melted into a liquid form.

3: something is happening to gems called "Harvesting"

Now we know that the big 'injectors' we see in the kindergarten are similar to giant needles right? What state does a needle inject? LIQUID.

On a seemingly random note let's look at one of the off colors fluorite.

She is is a HUGE fusion, the biggest (consensual) fusion we've seen. An interesting fact about fluorite?

EXTREMELY LOW MELTING POINT.

Now let's think about emerald.

We know emerald is chasing the off colors through space but what nobody seems to be asking is why? Sure she would have a personal grudge against them for various reasons but a homeworld gem wouldn't stray from her post or orders for a personal mission right? Unless to catch the off colors IS her mission?

So, keeping in mind that fluorite has a low melting point whose to say that our fluorite couldn't be poofed, all her gems collected and melted together to create liquid fluorite? Why you ask?

This liquid could then be used to create a fluorite gem. Gem as in singular. A single gem with the power of a fusion to make them stronger and more powerful and LOYAL to homeworld.

A powerful gem who's extremely loyal to homeworld. Sound familiar?

Jasper has colored irises, which we know only fusions have (excluding sapphire)

They can't make gems like they USED to. But that doesn't mean they can't think of new ways to do it.
