[Gleipnir, by Walton Ford (2012) Watercolor, gouache, ink, pencil on paper]
Again, I dreamed of dogs. Black, filthy and wild. They came from the window, climbed to the 6th floor and entered my bedroom. One, two tall dobermanns, later a bulldog. Feral, with their crazy eyes, pitch like a shark's, and their fur unswept, feasting on my fear like physical hallucinations.
They told me not to open the window, I don't know why I didn't listen; maybe I wanted to air out the room. The view on the outside was concrete, set to muffle my screams.
When the bulldog came, I rushed to the opposite wall. My mistake. The dogs were there now. They were there to harm me. The rabid beasts started jumping around, and while I was there, I never thought of being bitten. I feared of being pounded.
The bulldog was mounting my bed, leaving wet stains all over the red sheets. Then it jumped on the cushions under the window. I tried to push the dog out of my room, went behind the glass, then it was gone.
The following day, a man was found dead outside my building; he must have jumped from the 6th floor, they said.
#dream#prose polished version of the dream I had last night#WOKE ME UP AT 5.30#I'm starting to think the dogs in my dreams are a metaphor for men#this is the second time I dream of violent (rabid?) black dogs#the first time it was fighting an equally old and sick horse#i have very weird dreams#my dreams#maybe I should have put a warning beforehand? this is kinda explicit?#dreams#one time i dreamt
