I forgot this existed

Okay, so I have a (2?) headcannon(s) that I want to share with you guys.

First, is that A.As due to being more advanced are able to self repair minor-mild damage on their own. (I.E: cuts, bruises, minor burns, etc.), anyways patching and repairing the artificial skin from any worse damage can cause “scarring”.

Also what if Advanced Androids could develop freckles. under the right conditions.

So a few ways the could do this and an explanation as to why:

- Sun damage

To start is actually the most common method of developing freckles in humans, yes that’s right. Freckles are a type of minor sun damage. So similar to how if you leave a particular item out in the sun for to long it bleaches it. Now take that bleaching effect but instead of lightening the skin it instead darkens it and voila! You have a freckle.

For an A.A this is the same thing but a lot slower.

(Small/medium dots, patches are loosely kept together.)

- Plasma damage

Or more specifically plasma damage while still covered.

Wether or not the armour the A.A is wearing deflects or more importantly absorbs the heat from impact defines the severity of the effect. However this is the fastest way for an A.A to gain freckles, although they’ll be isolated to the general area of where the shot landed.

Development of said freckles also gives a temporary itchy sensation due to the sudden loss of moisture.

(Large/medium dots that are dark in color, in the general area of contact, if the armour absorbs rather than reflect this will cause more instances)

- Having a Plasma based weapon

What is the sun?

A star, well yes but more importantly what IS a star?

Yup, a giant ball of plasma in the sky.

So if over exposure to the sun and plasma damage are two most common factors in development. It’s no shock that A.As that have plasma welding as their main weapon, are the most likely to develop multiple patches of freckles. Some of these patches will even bleed into one another and development of new freckles is heightened. Making the A.As that do present this unusual ability more prone to creating new ones even after their skin is replaced.

(Sporadic dots of varying shapes and sizes, can show anywhere but most often in the area of effect, dots come in dark/medium shades)

- Stress

In short.

Stress=higher internal temp

Internal temp= slight increase in radiation

Radiation= a slight sensitivity to light/sun

Light sensitivity=freckles bby

But it also reduces the A.As ability to repair properly, so if they’re already prone to developing them then stress could cause more to show up.

(Tiny speckle like dots, light/medium shade, appear in equally tiny patches, tend to show up on the chest and face)

- A design flaw? Unintentional ability?

Then there’s the fact that every once in awhile, an A.A is just flat out prone to developing freckles with little input. Doesn’t matter if you replace the skin of try your hardest to fix it. The A.A will still make them. Though some are of the belief that the strange ability originates from the A.I itself having a sensitivity to stimuli on the skin and that’s reflected in the tiny little annoying dots that develop on them.

(Most variety in general, but also have some more unique dots)

Proto:

So since his case has a lot of explaining to do I’ll start from here.

Method(order of relevance): design flaw, bomber, sun/plasma damage, stress

Due to him being a Bomber Bot like his brother, Proto is constantly making new tiny freckle patches. Mostly in his buster arm and along his upper back. Though he was developing them long before becoming a Bomber.

Dr.Light noticed and to interest in a small patch that had developed under his left eye. Which started a slight dislike (or more accurately an insecurity) in them. But when Dr.Light told him that no more would develop further, Proto had a slight hope that the current ones would be the only ones. Despite this Dr.Light was wrong and Proto now finds a new tiny patch every week or so while in Light’s care.

He had also thought that when Wily rebuilt him as a bomber that it would stop it. He was disappointed to see the opposite that happened and that it actually expedited the issue.

Luckily his armour and helmet covers most of them, and the ones on his face are small and light enough to go unseen with considerable distance. The only people that know he even has them are the ones who are able to get close enough to have a face to face conversation.

Despite Proto being rather insecure about them.

Elec thinks their rather adorable… and~ also calls attention to them in order to get a rise out of Proto. Though Proto also won’t say to Elec that he enjoys Elec’s underhanded compliment.

Wily couldn’t care less, he just wants to know why. But in a surprising amount of respect, he doesn’t bring up the fascination up to Proto.

Light thought they were rather fitting for him and wishes he’d embrace them a little more.

Rock likes using the knowledge that Proto just doesn’t like them to ride on Proto’s nerves. But secretly likes having the small similarity to his brother.

Roll is absolutely amused by them and whenever she’s close enough she tries to connect them or poke them. She also like the reaction she gets out of her brother when she does.

As stated above Rock also has them.

Rock:

Method(order of relevance): Bomber, design flaw, stress, sun/plasma damage

Much like how his brother has an odd freckly ability, so does Rock in a slightly more relaxed state. Unlike his brother though, Rock really loves his. He likes the fact that it’s a rather unusual and rare ability to have. Him and Roll like to share new patches with each other.

The man has a freckle he’s name Frank… he’s located on Rock’s collarbone. Frank was his first one.

Light and Roll think their absolutely adorable and encourage him in his fascination.

Proto’s both annoyed at Rock’s fascination and comforted by the fact he’s not the only one that has this flaw. He also thinks they just look better on Rock than him.

Wily, again doesn’t care just wants to know why.

Roll:

Similar to her brother Rock she’s fascinated with them… not hers though. She’s more fascinated with her brother’s in particular. She’s also the least freckly of the three.

Light is unchanged in his opinion of his very freckly children.

Rock and her discuss and bond over them. He does like her better though. She the one that Frank his title.

Proto… loves them on his sister, and wishes he could just give her his for max cuteness. Alas he can’t, however he won’t say it to anyone else but he loves his sister dotting over them. Her and Elec are the only people that can make Proto feel a little better about them.

And~ that’s all I got currently.
