cw for mentions of poison and mutations (?)

warriors!arcane au where scourge is literally just silco trying to rebuild the city from the ground up through unethical experimentation of a dangerous substance (shimmer in arcane but gleam for this au) that literally mutates the user through radioactive exposure.

in this au, scourge is intent on making a twisted utopia out of the city.

his plan is set into motion when a shiny but radioactive liquid starts flowing from the sewers and into the streets of scourge’s city. it flows into drainages and waters, tainting everything in its path.

scourge notices that the poison called “gleam” for its shimmery & green appearance is overflowing the city. cats that drink it don’t die, but become mutated and severely deformed with extra limbs and eyes. cats exposed to it grow massive and run amok.

scourge is intent on conquering this power for himself and forces his followers to ingest the gleam to get bigger and stronger. for a while, he considers drinking it himself, but decides against it.

with this power, scourge rules the city with an iron fist, but his plans for turning the city into a utopia are all but threatened by a small, black kit “fished” out from a flooded den.

how do you explain jayfeather’s massive hair loss?

he’s probably been alive for who knows how long so it’s probably the age and all the stress he had to go through :) i’ve also been seeing people add onto the theory by implying rock could be jay’s wing and that’s actually makes much more sense bc jay’s wing literally Vanished on his journey to the mountains so we have no idea what happened to him

there’s a gray area between jay’s wing disappearing and rock appearing that could be fun to explore and could connect the dots

jay’s wing could’ve been cursed by something and maybe it’s the same thing that allowed midnight to live for so long as well. maybe that explains why rock and midnight know each other! we don’t know!

maybe that also explains why rock asked jaypaw to guide the others to the mountains; to finished what he started. they both have bad temperaments, similar gifts, and a strange connection to jay’s wing that no one can really explain. pot has a lot of plot holes that bother me, and rock is definitely one of them :)
