@alphinias I totally get your disappointment! I was really surprised they didn't end up together when literally EVERY SIGN lead to them :(

BUT we know Alarik is getting his own novel now, and he's getting a story and happy ending that he deserves!!!

I am confident that his new love interest will exceed our expectations and will make us forget all about Wren!! I'm so excited to learn more about her and the overall plot of Alarik's novel!

He came to her side, resting his head on his elbows until they were both slumped over the side of the pool, looking at each other. Alarik took a deep breath, and Wren did the same. In and out, in and out, until they fell into sync with each other.

He reached over, peeling a strip of wet hair from her eyes.

"How do you feel now?"

Gingerly, Wren lifted her head. "A little better."

Oonagh swung Wren around to find the king of Gevra standing at the edge of the cliff, looking worse than Wren had ever seen him. And that really was saying something. Yet, despite his weakness, she could tell be the smudges of dirt on his cheeks and the grass stains on his trousers that somehow, Alarik Felsing had dragged himself up those cliffs.

Wren felt herself smile.

Alarik, for all his suffering, smiled back.

I am VERY excited to share this wonderful piece with you all!!

For those who don't know by now, I might be VERY Alarik biased 😂😂 (I mean how could I not?! Do you see this face?!! 😍❄️)

Let me tell you, I BAWLED my eyes out when I read this scene because it was so simple, yet so beautiful😍 and immediately went to find an artist who could bring it to life!! And @im_arc was the perfect choice!

I hope this illustration will push many other readers to go and read the final installment of the Twin Crowns Trilogy!! 👑

But do not worry! This might be the conclusion to Wren and Rose's story, but two spin-offs about two known beloved characters are on their way!!

We will return to this world in the future!! ✨️

She twisted her fingers in his collar, threatening to choke him. Her magic irrupted and a blizzard roiled, shoving them

closer. There was snow on the King's hair, on his face. A single white flake on his bottom lip.

"I hate you," she hissed. ,,I hate you more than anyone I've ever met."

"And you think I care?" he sneered. "I hate you, too."

"Tyrant," she said rising to her tiptoes.

"Brat," he shot back.

She jutted her chin out.

"Wretch."

He dipped his head. "Witch."

"So what?!" she said, her gaze falling to that single snowflake on his lip.

He moved his hands up her neck, trapping her face between them. "Wren."

His fingers slid into her hair, holding her still.

"Stop. It."

"Make. Me."

And then they were kissing.

I feel like I need to make something really clear.

*If* (for whatever reason) there is another woman Azriel is very into, Elriels do not want our girl fighting another woman over a man. If there is even conflict to work out that means Az has all the agency and the choice is up to him- we do not want it.

Full stop.

Idk a single Elriel who wants this. What woman wants to read a harrowing tale of 2 women squabbling over a man in Romance!? Not I. Not anybody I know. I have never met a single Elriel who has expressed that desire to me.

Literally none of us want Elain to fight another woman for Azriel’s heart/love.

We all, by and large, love Elain and read these books for the sisters. We want to see Elain take control of her life and find her agency/voice; step away from people pleasing and be seen. We want her to make the tough choice and do what is right for herself and not what is political or in the benefit of others.

None of us (that I know of) are under any presumption that the power in Elain’s story is going to be given to a man. We want Elain to choose. We want love to trump a mating bond.

Respectfully, if the agency is taken away from Elain in the Elriel ship, the other girl can have him. None of us want a man for her who is so feckless to jump from Mor, to pining over Elain for a year, to the next available woman.

If that’s the case, let Elain world-walk to Hel and give us a reverse harem with the princes of Hel.

If that man is not 100% in love with our girl (which he is), we don’t want it.
