PROMPT ONE RESULT: SEARCH THE LIBRARY FOR ANSWERS 

The masses gather in the library, led by candle lit lanterns and their best efforts at seeing through the blanket of darkness. Shapeless bodies press against one another as hands illuminated by the small pockets of light scramble to grasp at anything remotely useful. The resourceful have had little difficulty in the dark days, but the lesser have seen better days. Regardless of how they've fared, everyone is looking for answers. A hush falls over the shouts when a voice announces they’ve found something. 

Stumbling in the dark, they gather around an oak table where a hefty book sits open. The book details the balance of the world and the elements that make it so. It goes on to describe the consequences that would befall the people of Zemlya if the balance was disturbed. An ancient prophecy had predicted that the greed of men would plunge the world into darkness, and that would only be the first of the many horrors to follow until balance is restored. 

The voice reading the passage stops mid sentence, head suddenly whipping upwards. “Did you hear that?” Confused questions rise in answer until hushed loudly. The crowd stands in a chilling silence in the library until ears begin to pick up low moans. The shelves of the library creek and wail. Out of the corner of their eyes a glowing figure slithers across the floor, but is quickly forgotten when they turn their attention back to the haunting figure before them. Their heart drops to the pit of their stomach, and the colour drains from their face.

Hey babes ! Made it through prompt number one and we’d like to thank everyone for participating in the poll. It was a close call for the results and that makes it just that much more exciting. This prompt has a little more of a personal touch aside from the general spookiness. 

Ghosts have begun to roam across the nation just as your muse was about to uncover what exactly is going on. In general, the land is alive with the dead. Your classic bumps in the dark, spooky vibes. The one ghost everyone has seen at some point during their haunting is that of a large serpent, or has heard hissing at some point. No one can make head nor tail of it, and they’re not meant to. Hold tight, it’ll make sense in a few more prompts. 

But muse specifically, and pertaining to the poll, your muse is being haunted by a ghost of their past. Doesn’t matter who, just someone that left an impact on their life! Could be a good spirit, someone they miss, could be a bad spirit, someone they did wrong, could even be themselves, a ghost of their past self. Whatever works for your muse and you, just have fun with it!

SPECIFIC RULE FOR PROMPT ONE:   No sun, no light at all. This includes any kind of natural light, lamplight, electricity/gas run lights, etc. The only thing that works is fire or candlelights, lanterns, etc.

Reports flood in from all across Zemlya. Traders send messages of a brewing storm, merchants arrange meetings to avoid the wrath of the weather looming, Grisha move their training indoors save for a handful of Squallers. The clouds roll into a tight blanket across the sky, and heads inevitably turn upwards. From near and far, all eyes watch as the sky above them grows darker and darker. What began as increment weather, slowly sends a chill down spines. The sight of the sky before them was no freak climate incident. Before long, the world is plunged into a darkness deeper than any midnight they had ever seen. 

The wise take it as a sign to rest their head and the wiser search for answers. Night, one spent in a blinding shadow, turns to day but there is no sun to be seen. Zemlyans awaken to the same pitch black and a discomfort begins to settle. Lanterns are lit, and voices whisper as they try to solve the mystery that had unfolded overnight. What had led them to a life without light and how would they bring back normalcy? What had happened to cause their sun to disappear?

Hi grishaverse babes ! Welcome to the first event of spooky season and sorry for the slight delay. Tl;dr: your muse wakes up to absolute darkness. No sun, no light at all. This includes any kind of natural light, lamplight, electricity/gas run lights, etc. The only thing that works is fire or candlelights, lanterns, etc. Your muse must rely on other sources of light to get around and about. And furthermore, how exactly does your muse look for answers? We’re assuming they’re proactive here! 

Since the next prompt will be up in two weeks you can assume that this lack of sun spans at least a few days to a week. So feel free to plot how your muse maneuvers around this, how they react, etc. And don’t forget to vote in the poll even if you don’t get around to threads or anything. This dash event is super dependent on some participation!! If you have any questions, feel free to shoot us an ask. Have fun with it, it’s only the start!

WHAT IS BOOVERSE ? 

BOOVERSE 2021 is an interactive, “choose your own adventure” style grishaverse RPC dash event meant specifically for spooky season! This event is not just for Grishaverse specific muses, but also for anyone with verses set in the Zemlya universe (Zemlya meaning earth / soil, our name for the planet Grishaverse is set in). We encourage anyone and everyone to join if they wish! For the purpose of tracking, or finding others to plot/interact with for the course of this event, feel free to use the tag #booverse2021

HOW DOES IT WORK ?

BOOVERSE will be a prompt based event. Starting the week of August 8th 2021, a prompt will be posted every two weeks (though this is flexible). Along with that prompt, will be a poll where you get to choose the most likely path your muse would take in response to whatever has occurred. An unrelated example: if the prompt was about going to the ice cream shop, the poll would be a list of flavours your muse could choose. The result of the poll and whichever poll option has the most votes will determine how the plot of the event will unfold. Continuing on the ice cream example, if chocolate had been the most voted choice, then chocolate ice cream would play a part in the next step of the adventure. The most voted result may differ from your initial vote, and will be the one the event uses.

We decided on the two week timeline to give people a chance to plot out and develop threads or self paras about the prompts that are posted. This event is meant to encourage interactions and plotting! Each prompt is something that your muse will be able to react to, and all other muses participating in the event will be aware of/involved in. If you miss a prompt, or decide to join after the first prompt has been posted, don’t fret! You can join whenever you’d like, and it is entirely up to you to decide which prompt you want to get involved with and how. Even if you choose to not post anything about a certain prompt, you can still vote in the poll just to play a role in how the rest of the event works out! No pressure on our end, just have fun! 

The final prompt will be posted on October 31st, and the result of that prompt and the finale of the plot of the event will be wrapped up early November.
