    Castiel intends to just go through the motions, but gets swept up in it all. That’s the point of all this after all, to tap into their instincts, forge some sort of connection before the Alphas are turned loose on them. Something made abundantly clear when his offerings for their Bakeoff are blatantly vandalized. As dangerously inept he can be in the kitchen, despite all efforts to the contrary, at least there’s one thing he can get right. Pies are nothing special, why he made cobblers the first time, but at least he won’t have an empty booth to offer them. Surely someone won’t mind painfully mundane apple pies, right?
