I keep thinking about how the world ends for so many people every day. And maybe it's a selfish thought but I think about how much I just want to be held before my world ends. I think I tried to chase what I thought was love off a cliff because the realization of my mortality becomes more present as I age (and as the troubles of the world boil over). And if I do anything before the end of my world I want to have really loved and have really been loved. Is that too much to wish for?

Every year there's recurring discourse about older shows from the 90s and 2000s. It normally focuses on the lack of diversity found in these properties. Buffy being one of them, while it boasts gender and sexual diversity it lacks it in race, failing to take into account the racial demographic of it's setting in Southern California. This is a valid take, what frustrates me is, we've seen how Buffy handled race and it wasn't handled well. Did we really want to have that racial inclusion on the screen only for them to fumble in writing and perpetuate stereotypes or mistreat those characters? Just look at Kendra Sineya and Robin Wood. Kendra's weird amalgamation of accents, that fluctuates from Caribbean to Scottish to Irish? Sineya being portrayed as primitive (which they could've fixed narratively if they showed her life before being infused with the essence of a demon), Robin's treatment from Buffy & Spike and how they just disregard Spike killing Robin's mom even though Spike has been re-ensouled and should be exhibiting some semblance of humanity yet he pays Robin dust like he didn't kill that man's mom and wears her coat like a trophy. Just something that has been on my mind as of late.

Nervous scared and cautiously optimistic, the world being post apocalyptic and the formation of new cultures does intrigue me. The technological advancements in Legend of Korra took away from the more fantastical elements of the show. Not to say they can’t exist just maybe they should’ve been limited. With this new incarnation we’re getting a reset which gives me hope.
