“Oh, what movie did you set them up with? Hope it’s a long one,” Laserblast was kind of curious to meet the kids sometime; he didn’t really know what they were like when they weren’t attacking the plaza. But not tonight. Tonight was for him and Boxy.

He set the bag down next to the couch before stretching out and lounging on it himself, taking off his helmet and kicking off his boots, setting them atop his bag. Boxman did say to make himself at home.

【 𝐁𝐌 】— “ One of those bright cartoon-y things. They’re quite enamoured with ‘em! I even let them pick out a PG one. ”

For someone who is known for being snappy at them, Boxman did seem to care for his children to some extent. Although a brief peek into the kitchen happened to catch a brief peek at prying eyes as well, and his face immediately soured.

“ ...OR I COULD JUST PUT ON NO MOVIE AND YOU ALL CAN CLEAN THE P-9 RADIATORS. ”

Gasps, shrieks, and squeals sounded as they scrambled out of sight, Box turning on his heel and chuckling all nervous-like. A rough clearing of the throat sounded before he came over to settle next to Laserblast, wasting no time huddling close to him as he spoke. The fact that the hero’d nixed the helmet didn’t help his case, even with him seeing it many times, Boxman couldn’t help but love that darling face.

“ I was thinking since I have scallops I could do something along the lines of fettuccine, but I remember how much you seem to eat asian-esc food at lunch so I've thought about salmon with sesame, soy, and ginger noodles... Any of those catch your eye? Or— ear? Heeheehhooo—I'm— You get the point. ”

Well, that was certainly more prompt than last time, speaking of he still didn’t know what had happened last week, but those thoughts flew out of his head as soon as he saw his Box in the cardigan.

“Oh no! That cardigan is so cute on you!” He darn-near cooed and he meant it; it had taken a surprisingly short period of time to get used to admiring men that way but he had taken to it like a bi fish to water.

It was only after he squealed about Boxman’s outfit change that he registered what Boxman had said both about his handsome face and entering the factory, “No, I guess I didn’t.”

Shifting his bag to his other shoulder, he stepped past the shorter man and into the building. He was curious, not really having seen this side of the factory much before, “What should I do with my bag?”

【 𝐁𝐌 】— Perhaps Boxman didn’t expect to be doted on so quickly, because his face was flushed instantly from the comment.

“ This old thing? Wehehell I was— It’s a lot colder in Boxmore than you may think! It gets warmer the closer you get to the assembly lines, seeing as the generators send a lot of power there. I should really show you around sometime.... ”

Catching himsef before he lost his train of thought any further, Box cleared his throat and waved for the taller of the two to follow him. This side entrance was convenient for non - business visitors, as it led directly to the living quarters of the factory as opposed to going through mazes of package processing, model assembly, part manufacturing, things of the sort.

“ You can leave it on the table if you’d like, it’s not all that important to me where it goes. Just make yourself at home! ”

While the colors stayed similar to the rest of Boxmore, purples and pinks, once the hall had opened into the main family room it was a lot more homey in appearance. Furniture such as a couch and two lounge chairs ( one with claw marks on it, presumably from Mikayla ), electronics, heck — there’s even an electric fireplace! Boxman had his hands on his hips, looking quite proud of himself for how clean he’d managed to make it all look.

“ I’ll be getting dinner started soon, so feel free to poke around. I set the children up with a movie so they shouldn’t be much of a bother. ”

And yet, the sound of giggles and gears made it seem like Boxman had too much faith in his children for tonight.

Laserblast heaved a bit of a sigh as he climbed out of his car in his spot at the Boxmore parking lot. Hopefully, this went better than last time.

Slinging his travel bag over his shoulder, he paused briefly to wave at some familiar faces across the street at the Bodega before he made his way to the door of the factory. Not the public main door but a more hidden door off to the side.

He was dressed the same as last time; he wanted to wear something a little more… revealing but the autumn wind was just too cold, so sweater and sweatpants it is.

“Knock knock!” The hero called as he knocked on the door, getting a sense of deja vu.

【 𝐁𝐌 】— Boxman would have been lying if he said he wasn’t sat in the hall, phone out impatiently staring at his texts with Laserblast. It had been some time since they’d seen each other, especially given the busy schedule Boxman’d had thrown into his lap recently, and it went without saying he was growing anxious to see his partner. 

‘ I have arrived ’

Hardly a second before the knock sounded, he slammed his fist on the ‘OPEN’ button he had for this door, getting the hero with a wide ( anxious ) smile. 

“ Would you look at that? There’s the handsome face I was talking about earlier! ”

A sheepish chuckle sounded before Boxman cleared his throat as if to save himself from embarrassment that... Wasn’t even there. He certainly is on edge.  Since there was no work on his plate today, he’d discarded the usual lab coat and instead opted for a cardigan to combat the chill. While Boxman spent most of his time inside, the near - pure metal and steel interior did the temperature no favors.

Speaking of which...

“ Well— Ahehehh—You might as well come in! I’m sure you didn’t come all this way just to stand in the cold, did you? ”
