headcanon that at the beginning of keith and shiro’s relationship shiro always wanted to turn the light off during sex bc he was ashamed/insecure of his scars. keith is supportive at first bc he’s dreamed so long of being w shiro that he doesn’t push it, but as time goes on and they become more and more comfortable w each other, sexually and romantically, keith gets increasingly frustrated that shiro doesn’t understand how gorgeous he is. 

so they’re in bed one night and shiro reaches over to turn off the light, flush high on his cheeks, but keith presses his wrists down onto the bed and tells him to stay put. he strips shiro down, slow and with careful hands. shiro doesn’t argue, but he’s clearly uncomfortable and not even hard to boot; so embarrassed that even his thighs are shaking. 

keith maps out his body, presses a kiss to every scar, every mark, every freckle, every divot. shiro screws his eyes shut, his breaths erratic and panicky. keith stops briefly, just long enough to reach forward, hold shiro’s face in his hands.

‘look at me,’ he whispers. shiro’s eyes flutter open, strikingly gray and shining with unshed tears, like a thunderstorm amongst a hurricane.

‘i’m not–’ shiro cuts himself off, inhaling a shaky breath. ‘i’m not what you expected, right?’

keith presses his lips to shiro’s forehead. ‘no,’ he murmurs, ‘you’re more beautiful than i ever could have imagined.’

shiro ends up crying so hard that they have to take a break. keith holds him, whispers sweet nothings in his ear, makes promises of reassurance. when shiro calms down, they make love with the light on for the first time ever, and when shiro comes, toes curling and mouth falling open in bliss, keith thinks, i’m the luckiest bastard in the world, and falls in love all over again.

On this blog we love and respect the staff of Voltron

to be honest, when i first got into this show i expected nothing. i loved all the characters and the vibe and shiro and keith in particular grabbed me, but i didn’t really hope for anything. i just assumed one of them would be killed off or they would grow apart or get a lesser role. instead, i’ve gotten to watch seven seasons where the two of them grew as individuals to a degree that was real and beautiful and inspiring and, beyond all luck, i got to watch them grow together, too. they’ve fought for each other and gained strength and developed as characters through that relationship beyond my wildest hopes. it just feels so good to have two characters you adored become truly an inspirational and victorious pair. i don’t know what the final season will hold and i have no expectations or entitlement because it’s been such a privilege to watch this series expand into a tour de force along with the two characters i happen to love most. just huge props to all the cast and crew. i don’t think i can thank them enough for all they’ve done!
