I work for Wayin. I've worked for many others, but today... I work for Wayin. I do social media, tech, and business culture for that particular portion of my life. For this particular portion, I share whatever I have go share... and I would hope you know better than to consider it as a reflection on anyone or anything but me. I'm also on Twitter (@bpdouglass) and G+ (plus.ly/bpdouglass).

The better half and oldest return from Indianapolis… as luck would have it (pun totally intended), their trip coincides with a moment of personal conflict and vulnerability.
I have been a Bears fan for many, many years. Raised in central Illinois in a house without historic loyalties (my father cheered for the Saints when he cheered… in the ’80s, that wasn’t often), I grew up knowing Sweetness was a god.
We learned the same about Jordan along the way.
I’m not a kid anymore. Media has evolved. I absorb the game differently, and my views (I hope) have evolved.
Right now, I hate the Bears. I despise every move they’ve made over the last three years and am especially offended by the moves made since the end of the season. I loathe the attempt to drive positive emotion… and in response, the wife made an observation.
“You’re a Colts fan.
“What?”
“It’s a disgrace, but it’s true. You’re a Colts fan. The only NFL people you speak positively about these days: Tony Dungy, Jim Irsay and Andrew Luck… and that kid from West Virginia. That’s it. Every time Dungy is on Patrick you get shitty with ANYONE who dares to talk over him. You’ve been talking about Irsay’s Twitter account like he’s a prophet, and I’m sick of your fantasy football OCD on trading for Luck. They were on Parks and Rec and you sat there glowing like you were watching a miracle.
You’re a total nerd, and you’re a Colts fan.”
To drive the point home, she brought me a collection of gifts to help celebrate… or as she says, so I can stop lying to people.
She’s right.
(That kid from West Virginia = Tavon Austin… and I remain hopeful for him as well.)

The better half is in Indy and sent this my way. All my heroes are criminals... at least by technical definition.

This is Joe... he's staying with us right now.
The wife is working with Colorado Pug Rescue and Joe is our second "foster". Mac was our first, and he was so young and energetic... he wasn't with us long. I'm told that's a regular thing in the rescue game. He was cool, and now he's with other people who are cool.
Joe is older. He's got a bum right paw - I prefer to call it his "pimp paw", and would prefer you do the same - but it doesn't affect him at all. He runs as well as any pug you've ever seen, and he's not afraid to throw.
He's survived cancer. You can see where he was shaved. It's just not growing back too quickly. He's on a few different meds, just like he's on a few different homes.
Joe's bounced around a ton. He's been with several fosters after his first owner (abusive) gave him up (I don't know much there, total fine with that). That's when they found the cancer, found someone to help them with it, and he started bouncing around the foster homes. We are his fifth.
Some at the organization know him as Frankie Joe... whatever. He's Joe. He prefers Joe, makes no bones about it. The fact others miss on that proves they didn't earn the chance to know as much. Here's the thing...
Joe is a rescue and he's up for adoption... but I'm not dealing with that so well.
I really like Joe.

(I know it's not really in the vein of most of my followers, but it's been nothing but basketball cards and pics from me for some time... and I AM producing words in support of thought streams via my fingers. This is proof, so I'm being selfish and sharing the latest. As always, I appreciate your support and will repay with pints when in Denver.)
