I caught the first and last few hours of the livestream for thephysicsgirl, Dianna Cowern, and the difference in vibe that Simone and Ian bring in is so amusing. Simone is sweet, in near tears a lot of the time, just a warm vibe with her as the co-host. With Ian he really does go on and on if left to his devices, chill but also funny, with the cheeky, dark, and self-deprecating humor he brings in. But it's nice to see Kyle laugh all the same

Whenever they were asked about whether Main shows would come back or the future of Smosh, Ian and Anthony would say that they don't want to reveal all their cards/plans just yet. To me, it always seemed like they had more things planned than they would ever say. I mean even something like the Funeral Roast, which happened in December, was an immediate point of discussion (acc to Courtney) once the news of their buyback hit the crew. They aren't ignorant of these things, it's simply that these all take time. Anthony said it himself under Ian's Insta post about the new year- that 2023 was for finding themselves, and 2024 was for refinement.

I'm so excited for Smosh, because they just seem to be in a good place right now, if their comments on Smosh Mouth are any indicator. The cast feel like they have more freedom, there's less red tape, some things are hit or miss (on Main and yes, even on Pit and Games) but the fact that they feel comfortable making them is proof that they're doing well.

Granted it's always possible I'll eat my words in two months sure but I'm genuinely so excited for this Smosh Main break. I think it's been clear that they're still looking for Main's "voice" and that it's felt very separate from Pit & Games, and I'm really glad that they're taking the time to actually work on content to make this more cohesive and not just putting out things for the sake of having something out there. They're being really open about wanting to bring more of the cast on, content for members and non-members alike, doing the podcast on Smosh Cast, etc.

It's all things they've mentioned before in interviews or on the channels themselves, how they want this to grow beyond just them, incorporate the cast, want the experience to be different than Defy where they felt like they had to do so many things for the sake of the algorithm. Like! It's just really exciting to see them doing all these things that they've been talking about for the past year (or longer, in some cases). I'm really excited to see what they're working on in two months and getting to see the cast incorporated more into main as well! <3

That Assumptions episode with Ian and Anthony was so good! Mentally I'm still there. If you haven't watched for whatever reason, you should. Funny, touching, interesting, I loved it. It was such a gift to the whole fandom. I'm gonna cherish it for years to come.
