I love watching Dianna Cowern's Physics Girl videos and found out this week that long covid has left her bedridden and barely able to move.
Another of my favorites, Simone Giertz of shitty robots fame, posted this video with an update on Dianna's health and a way we can help by subscribing to Dianna's Physics Girl patreon.
Spreading the word and hoping the best for Dianna - please consider subscribing to her patreon if you can!

We just wanted to give you an update on Dianna’s health, since she’s been sick for a while and may not be returning for longer than we previously thought.
Her science videos are postponed until she can make a full recovery. We really appreciate everyone's support here on her channel. We know Dianna wishes she could be here making videos and happily physicsing, but right now she needs to stay in bed and away from work until she makes a full recovery.
Get vaxxed, mask up, stop the spread.

With the expected announcement tomorrow of a significant fusion breakthrough, people might like to check out this video which came out today in which Youtubers Cleo Abram and Simone Giertz construct and operate a simple fusion device in Simone's workshop using equipment provided by a company called Helion.
The type of device they created uses electrostatic confinement and the first of these devices was created by Filo Farnsworth (the inventor of the television) back in the 1960s. But the problem has always been how to get more energy out of a fusion device than you had to put into it to create fusion which is why tomorrow's announcement is so significant.
The CEO of Helion towards the end of the video does say that with so much progress being made of late that fusion power being a reality in their lifetimes seems reasonable. And while he said that his company hopes to see that happen faster what he didn't say is that Helion is hoping to have a facility that produces net electricity sometime in the next few years.
BTW, Simone mentioned in social media back when they first shot this video that porch pirates made off with some of the equipment that was sent to her and Helion had to send replacements.
P.S. For those who love hard science fiction, once fusion becomes practical and reaches a certain level of efficiency, then helium-3 is seen as a better fuel source than deuterium. And the best place to get helium-3 is the Moon. I haven't seen many SF stories yet talking about miners on the Moon but it wouldn't surprise me if more come in the near future.
