A quiet day on the island today, so much so that Scott took Alan to England for the day.

In the meantime, I was able to finish the repairs to Thunderbird 3, after it's run in with Haley's Comet.

Ever since MAX helped Grandma Tracy bake that apple pie a while ago, he's been keen to try baking new things. Because we had the time today, he had a go at a lemon drizzle whilst I spent time with Kayo. She's trying to convince me to join her in the gym to practice self-defense. I'm not sure how long I've got until I run out of excuses.

I realise that this is turning into a diary instead of a report, but I guess I don't have much to report on.

I can tell you I plan on kidnapping @brains-ir and taking him with me to help me but shh he doesn’t know that yet.

It’s in support of my Masters, and about the project we did looking at the impact of ultrasonar on the behaviours of cetaceans of the Pacific. We’ve got a lot of he spiral data, and also looking at how we can improving monitoring and use around sensitive areas - breeding grounds, migratory tracks etc.

tl;dr How badly are we pissing off the whales and dolphins with our squeaky noises (badly is the answer 😩) and what are we gonna do about it?

And I got a specially selected new shirt lined up for it 😂

If the actual metal is damaged, it could be dangerous. Thunderbird 3 is covered in a very important heat shield, and if it's damaged, it could risk the life of the pilot upon re-entry to the Earth's atmosphere.

I understand you wanted to make a nice gesture to Alan, but there are other ways of going about it.

I suppose... If it's only the paint that's damaged, Alan and Brandon can just repaint it.

But, if the actual metal plating is damaged, the whole plate will have to be replaced (which is not only time-consuming but also expensive).

Notes:

Two of TB3's engines were damaged by the comet.

The Rescue Pod was completely destroyed with the Solar Wind spaceship. A new one will have to be built.

According to Lemaire, my ration bars are "bland" and "primative." Although, based on his suggestion to "replace them with camembert", I'm not sure his ideas have much validity.

An uneventful day for MAX and I. It gave us the opportunity to get on with the usual checklist of maintenance.

Ten hours on the S.S. Cyanide Sunshine Death Wish, four hours cleaning up the mess, two hours in a decontamination soup, and @ilikebigshipsandicannotlie and Grandma trying to Velcro me to a med bay bed? Obviously, I pulled the classic Tracy escape - swan dive back into the sea before anyone catches me.
