The thug seems entirely unphased that he might shoot out vital technology — either for The Hood's plans or for their own oxygen supply. The panic in his eyes is overwritten with gold, but, surprisingly, he doesn't fire at Kayo.
There's a long pause. A stalemate. Scott is bleeding and John's breathing is all jagged and the whir of the machines aboard Thunderbird Five suddenly seems very loud.
It takes everyone by surprise when John is first to move. Even more so when The Hood puts him between Kayo and the gun.
"John, no!"
The words are out of her mouth before logic can remind her that these aren't John's actions, not really. But no matter if it's her adopted brother or blood uncle pulling the strings, the result will be the same. And Kayo refuses to let things end this way.
She pushes herself off from the wall she'd been trapped up against, hands outstretched. Scott's watching with wide eyes, but he's too far away to do anything in time and his skin is turning an unhealthy pallor as the blood loss takes its toll. At any rate, he can't stop her from trying desperately to shove John out of range.
The Zero-G works against her this time, however. Try as she might, the momentum needed to decisively push him out of danger just isn't there - she's not quite travelling at the right angle - and Kayo tries, but John's slack limbs tangle with hers and she twists, attempting to shield him with her body. Her whole body is wracked with tension, ears straining for the sound of a gunshot, skin tingling in anticipation of pain.

Brains rests his hand on The Mechanic's shoulder for a moment. A message of quiet reassurance. Brains isn't sure he could produce the right words to say so.
He takes a step back and puts on his guidance headset. He boots up the program, and turns to look at his friend.
This is their last chance to back out.
"R-Ready?" He asks.
Your concentration on the situation with Gordon is broken by a piercing set of beeps. You’re tempted to ignore them - after all, you KNOW there’s been a security breach and unwelcome people are in Five and that’s being dealt with by Scott and Kayo and Alan.
But this is different. This is the alert for unexpected data transfer. A huge one. Broad spectrum and seemingly random.
Yes it’s encrypted. Yes there are a number of safeguards embedded in the storage code of Five to prevent use of this data being in any way Easy. But given the Hood hacked his way into Five in the first place and nobody yet knows how?
This could be bad. Perhaps the Mechanic might have some ideas?
Brains is still monitoring the sub when a loud beeping sound echoes around the lounge. He quickly brings up the cause of the alarm on the holo-display, and immediately, his heart drops.
Someone is stealing data from Thunderbird 5. All of the data.
There is a brief moment of silence in the lounge, and Brains notices that even @zero-xlent stops his pacing to stare at the display.
This is bad. This is very very very bad.
He is brought back into reality by MAX tugging on his hand slightly. He exchanges a glance with the robot. They have to act quickly.
Brains taps at his comms.
" @scramjettracy , can you g-give us an update of what's going on up there? @squidsinashirt and @doctorspringerspaniel keep monitoring the submarine, but I fear that it may have just been a d-distraction. The Hood is stealing data from the Tracy Island network, and with it, he could gain access to the r-rest of the Thunderbirds. @iam-themechanic we need to figure out how to stop this data breach, any ideas?"

💥💥💥 BOOM!!💥 💥💥
There is an explosion about half a click out from the west side of the island. A fountain of water jets into the air and then —— silence.
Well, this hadn’t quite been the quiet day of maintenance Gordon had been planning.
Suffice to say, however, they were not having a repeat of the Zero-XL’s uninvited guests, that was for certain, and Scott’s instructions had been crystal clear.
Secret armoury permissions and all. Thankful that it was just as well at least two of them didn’t believe in that ‘non-violence’ thing when it came to protecting their home, as he pocketed a present from it.
WASP training had been rather quickly activated and he had barked orders in a very un-Squidlike fashion. Grandma had been put to work on securing the island and keeping their father from getting too involved - likely unsuccessfully. Squirt had taken care of the beach. Parker and Penny were enroute. Virgil had yet to reappear from securing Two’s hangar, and frankly Gordon was a little unsure what to expect his elder brother to return with at this point.
He’d left both Brains and the Mechanic to their work on the network and the island’s vast array of technology. Four’s remote controls hovering at his wrist as she patrolled with the mechas, Gordon peering out over the clifftop at her launch tunnel as he set a perimeter of deterrence around one of the transmitters (that wasn’t happening again). The island was eerily calm and quiet in the wake of Three’s launch.
That was until an enormous explosion rocked the water off the shoreline, and a curse that Scott would absolutely have objected to slipped out of his mouth. Tapping at his communicator, thankful for the sense to put his damn uniform on, as he slid back toward the villa
“Tracy Island, we’ve got a detonation off the west shore. @thunderfledgeling, get back inside, now. Everyone to cover. @brains-ir @iam-themechanic have you got a read on what that was?! Did the mechas get it?! Four’s scanners should have got a good look, I’m pulling them up on the main screen.”

Do you think you should follow Scott? What if he needs backup?
Yeah, the thought had occurred to him. Scott was self professed to not exactly be a fan of space. But he wasn't entirely alone out there! He had Kayo! And... John should be able to help. Especially with the Gravity off? (If he was able, who knows with the video cut-) (He couldn't think that way. Please.) Alan has to hope his other siblings are going to hold their own. Because...

... It seems he's not going to have time to worry about that! "Star! We've got company!" He shouts to @thunderbird-3-best-bird. (Sorry, @gdf-ridley-obannon - You're getting dragged along what may just be an interesting ride. Unless you're wanting to get involved?)
He's got Maximum MAX - He's not entirely unarmed himself, but he's not too thrilled with the idea of figuring out what those cannons can do to his ship's Cahelium hull. So. The first goal was to try to eliminate the initial threat. "Alright, MAX... Let's make some space." Hah. Space. He extended the arms of Maximum MAX quickly, trying to clear the space immediately around him, before moving further out. He needed to not be a stationary target either.

John's still fighting. It was better than John still being on the ground under that man's boot. Though he was going to have one heck of an infirmary stay after this. Because. They were going to get him and their 'birds out of this, and the hood will be arrested. And everything will be fine. "Scott, there has to be something we can do to help..." He says with worry to @scramjettracy. He knows Scott must be busy, he just. Sitting here is hard. And its harder still keeping the line between terrified younger brother solid.
The heavy boot on John's fingers stamps down, fully intent on breaking digits. When there's no immediate response from the Tracy's on the line the boot shifts onto John's neck, cartilage crunching, the threat clear.
If someone doesn't hand the metaphorical keys to the Thunderbirds over to The Hood soon, John Tracy isn't going to make it.
John, his back to the camera, is hardly conscious of his fingers breaking - tied so tightly as they are behind his back they're beginning to lose feeling - but the impact of a heavy sole against his neck sparks some kind of basic, primal fear in John that screams at him to fight back. Apparently, being choked tends to make you wake up and take action, no matter how many drugs are in your system.
The panicked adrenaline hits him all at once, and John slams the side of his sore jaw hard against the man's ankle, ignoring the bright, hot burst of pain it causes and using the man's surprised flinch to roll away.
Unsteady but firmly now on his knees a yard or so away, John glowers at his captors - that stubborn, Tracy resolve not beaten down yet, not even as the world seems to spin wildly around him; the dizziness unrelenting.

Havoc's diary entry
I'm not very good at this, but I'll give it a shot
Here are my thoughts on recent events . And it's damned scary. Just when I make a breakthrough with people, my past comes back to slap me in the face
I've been wondering if 626 was a figment of my imagination or whether I have actually managed to escape from prison.
Yet, here I am, out in the open and on the run
I don't have much time before the GDF find me or the Hood's goons.
I'm pretty sure that I've left a digital trail that is traceable. The weather is turning grim, so I'll have to find shelter.
Word has it that my Boss is up to his old tricks. I might have sort of forgiven him, but I will NEVER forget what he did to us
I'm going to give him a little 'gift' - a wormhole program that will inconvenience him and hopefully stop him in his tracks
The reason why I never used it before? I didn't realise just how powerful or useless it might be - as my Boss used to constantly remind me, so I put it aside
Just in case.
Well, the 'just in case' is needed right now and I'm glad I kept a copy of it and it's been sent to a trusted source, I hope they can decode it without triggering the wormhole.
Damn, the weather has turned nasty, and I can hardly hear above the rolling thunder overhead and the torrential rain. Especially if anyone is approaching, and that makes me very nervous.
I don't know how my future is mapped out, I could be locked back inside without external internet access
Or
At the mercy of my former boss, and trust me, he is NOT the merciful type
So, give my dumbass brother a punch in the arm cos that's how he knows that I care about him
Oh shit someone's here
See you all around
Losers

Presenting Katie Wolfe, a.k.a Copycat!
@homegrown-blorbo-garden
I suck at drawing without a base, so here's the references I used!
First one I genuinely have no clue. I drew it like 4 or 5 years ago in my high school-provided subscription of Photoshop so I do not have the files. I searched up something along the lines of "superhero pose drawing reference female" though.
2nd!
3rd!
4th I used HeroForge as a reference.
Now that the art showcase is complete, I shall tell her story! Well, part of it. You see Katie is part of an entire multiverse I created called FiveOh Comics. At my count right now, there's 285 characters in this universe (plus an rp Discord server which I can link to anyone interested in joining). There's a ton of storylines all over the universe, and Copycat in particular has an entire 100 episode-10 season show I'm writing about her that I want to get officially produced, but I don't have time to go through all of it today, so here's the essentials!
Katie Wolfe is an anomaly, born with superhuman powers that manifested at 10. She could copy any actions she saw other people take, so long as she physically had the capability to do so. She could also chameleon herself to look like other people, or change her own appearance. Worth mentioning also that she's bisexual and polyamorous.
She's the daughter of Timberwolf (a.k.a Theresa Wolfe), one of the most famous superheroes in the world and the leader of POW! (Protectors Of the World), the first superhero team ever. Theresa's also the smartest person in the world, and runs the company Wolfe Sciences, dedicated to creating products that advance humanity's capabilities. I'll talk about Theresa again in a later post when I've drawn a not-shitty picture of her in hero mode.
Trying to follow in her mother's footsteps, Katie helped found Alpha Sentinel, the most popular hero team in the world, since it had two former members of POW! leading it and never seemed to lose. In the fight that formed the team, Katie met a shapeshifter from a doomed civilization in the core of the Earth, who'd been jettisoned to the surface to save her. Confused and angry, she lashed out, until the soon-to-be team pacified her and they slunk off. Katie later tracked her down and brought them to her mother. After a while of acclimating to the surface and its society, she took a human form, naming herself Emily and choosing to stay with Katie and Theresa. Theresa officially adopted her, and she became Katie's sister.
After 3 successful years of Alpha Sentinel's career, tragedy struck. One member was trapped within his own mind, one was killed, a third was traumatized so bad she quarantined herself in her room for nearly a year, and a fourth was hospitalized, leaving only Katie and Stingray (aka Steven Raye, Theresa's best friend) still active heroes. Of course, though, Katie was not unaffected by this event, and she retreated into a shell for over a month, right up to the start of the Copycat series, the events of which I won't spoil.
Over the course of the show, however, she deals with her own emotional scars and brings together friends, even saving the old AS member who was trapped in his own mind, and created a new Alpha Sentinel, consisting of herself, Stingray, the previously mentioned member of AS, Riptide, Timberwolf, her sister Emily, calling herself Goop Girl, her best friend Cassie Wright, or Libra, and a wizard named Stardust.
Oh, also there's a strong chance she's a daughter of Athena. At the very least, she's been blessed, as Athena has allowed her to summon Aegis and Astrape.
I'll get to all of these characters in due time, of course, but for now, that's Katie's story! Here's some quotes from her for good measure.
Katie: I live in fear of John Cena brushing my mouth like Colgate.
Katie: Hey, y’know how some people get birds released at their weddings?
Emily: …yes?
Katie: I want Cassowaries released at my wedding.
Theresa: "Katie, if you ever utter the phrase 'copyright incringement' in my house again, I'm kicking you out."
Katie, dying: I’m sorry… you know I had to do it to ‘em…
Katie: You're not a copycat. Nothing has ever been done the way you do it before. Everything you do is special and unique to you.

The first henchman with the thick boots tries to launch himself at Kayo while her back is turned, but the stray gunshot from the second has grazed Scott's thigh. Blood is seeping quickly into his International Rescue uniform, bubbling thinly in the 0G. The second henchman goes to re-load, and this time the gun is pointed at Kayo. John looks like he can't breathe, but at least he's stopped typing.
The relief Kayo feels as she catches sight of Scott's injury is fleeting. The injury isn't fatal. But her brother has been shot on her watch, and from the way his face twists even as he tries to remain steadfast she can tell it hurts.
All of this happens in a split-second. Not long, but enough to give her opponent an advantage. She barely manages to shift herself out of the way - the attack missing her head, but thudding painfully into her shoulder instead - and Kayo grunts. Her fist smacks into the henchman's bicep in retaliation, deadening his muscle (a technique she'd picked up from Parker, in fact). But then she hears the telltale click of a bullet slotting into a chamber and her attention ping-pongs right back to the armed henchman and to her injured brothers. Kayo turns and is met with the barrel of a gun, levelled at her heart.
She freezes, raising her hands slowly, placatingly. "You don't want to do that," she says calmly, ignoring her racing heartbeat. "You were lucky the first time, but one wrong move and that bullet wrecks this whole space station. I can guarantee the Hood won't be happy if you shoot out the computer systems before he gets what he wants."
Kayo stares steadfastly at the thug, refusing to let her gaze flit across to Scott. With the armed henchman's attention fixed on her, this is his chance to make a move if he can. Specks of blood float into her field of vision. She tries to ignore them. All she can do now is hope someone breaks this stalemate.

character name/codename: Wallace “Wally” Rudolph West || Kid Flash
character age: 21 (supposed to be 24 but no time passes in the Speed Force)
faceclaim: KJ Apa
species/status: Meta-Human || Hero
occupation: Unemployed (TBD in game - possibly student)
biography Wally comes from Earth-49, an undocumented Earth that all that is know about it by those on Earth-1 that study the multiverse is that is it mysteriously protected by some power that doesn’t allow the Earth to be breached. Wally doesn’t know any of this.
Earth-49 is actually very similar to the Earth in the Young Justice cartoon series with influences from the comics (like having the original Titans team line-up and he never dated Artemis but did date Linda Park for a bit) and other cartoon movie sources.
past: Born on the 11th of November, 1995, in Blue Valley, Nebraska to Ruldoph and Mary West. Wally’s relationship with his parents wasn’t perfect. He’d often stay with his Aunt Iris and Uncle Barry in Central City - who he says are the ones that really raised him.
At ten, Wally found out Barry was the Flash and decided to recreate the experiment that gave Barry powers. It worked and Wally, after a bit of training, then went on to become the Flash’s sidekick, Kid Flash. He moved in with Iris and Barry permanently.
While Barry and he generally saved the day on their own, Wally also became acquainted with other members of the Justice League. Through the other Justice League members, Wally met other sidekicks. He was pleased to meet other heroes his own age and became friends with a few of them especially Batman’s sidekick, Robin, who was the first person he ever considered as his best friend despite the fact Robin refused to tell him his real name.
At fifteen, Wally and some other heroes’ sidekicks were invited to form a team of their own by the Justice League. Robin was their leader, then you had Speedy (Roy Harper), Aqualad (Garth), Wonder Girl (Donna Troy), Lilith (Lilith Clay) and of course, Kid Flash (Wally). The team named themselves the Teen Titans and went on missions that didn’t necessarily require the big guns of the Justice League getting involved with. They grew and shrank in number over the years but one thing remain true for Wally, he loved his friends and would do absolutely anything for them.
After graduating high school, Wally decided he wanted to go to college but that meant he needed to hang up his running shoes for a bit cause he couldn’t be focused on both. After discussing it with the other Titans, especially Dick - who eventually revealed his secret identity to him - Wally dropped back to being a reserve member and went off to study.
Wally had almost graduated when he got the call that his friends needed him. He made the decision to skip his final exams to go to the Arctic and help the other Titans. Wally wasn’t going to lie, beating the baddies was a lot more fun than a chemistry exam. Plus, he friends needed him and Wally’s loyalty wouldn’t allow him to leave them.
The Titans won the battle in the Arctic, but when the dust had settled there was no celebration. Wally West had been lost.
present: Wally wasn’t technically lost. He knew he was in the Speed Force but the problem was he had no way of getting home. Unlike his Uncle who had been trapped in the Speed Force before, Wally lacked a conduit to anchor him and bring him home so he was stuck floating adrift, eventually believing he would just become one with the Force like a Jedi or something.
Then there was a disturbance, like a sudden storm rolling through. Wally took his chance and pushed at the storm, grabbing onto it in the hopes it would get him home. He landed near Central City but his victory dance was short lived as he came to realize that three years had passed since his disappearance.
His heart was dealt another blow when he went to what he believed to be the home of his Aunt and Uncle and found a stranger there. After a small conversation with the home owner, Wally learnt he wasn’t even on his Earth anymore.
positive traits: Loyal and reliable - Wally will always come when a friend calls. He throws everything into his friendships (which can be a negative if you betray him because it is heartbreaking for him). He is funny - at least he thinks he is - and would rather have those around him smiling.
negative traits: He tends to keep the negative to himself and therefore it gets bottled up and will eventually boil over in an explosion. He is hot-headed and has a mean temper once he gets going. Wally also takes a lot of blame onto himself, often feeling responsible for mistakes and believing he is the catalyst of them.
para sample:
The air crackled and sparks flew over the ground in a dizzying dance as the remnants of the freak lightning storm dissipated. Wally West always liked to make an entrance and breaking free of the Speed Force and arriving back on solid earth in a crazy ass lightning storm was probably his finest entrance to date. Light show and theatrics aside, his arrival also signified something very important - he wasn’t dead!
Wally had no idea how long he had been in the Speed Force, time had a different way of moving there. He could have been gone a minute. He could have been gone years. He hoped it wasn’t the latter - the idea that everyone had mourned him after coming to the conclusion he wasn’t coming back broke his heart. Surely it couldn’t have been years, though.
Taking in his surroundings, Wally spotted a sign that identified the place as a national park just outside of Central City. He was closer to home than he thought. Looking closer at the sign - which also was a notice board of events for those venturing into the national park - Wally spotted the date on one of the announcements. 2019.
2019! That was three years! His heart sank but he was determined to get back to his family and friends and make up for lost time. He could do that now. He was back. His body filled with hope of making things right.
Wally raced into the city. He felt faster than before - maybe a Speed Force side effect - but he couldn’t worry about that now. Stopping in a dead end street, Wally then took to a normal pace and went to the address he knew to be that of his Aunt Iris and Uncle Barry - at least he hoped they still lived there. Knocking on the door, Wally speedy thoughts went over a speech in his head - what did one say when they have been gone for three years?
The door opened and an older man Wally didn’t recognize was standing there, a curious look on his face at who Wally was and why was this stranger on his doorstep. “Er... I was wondering if Iris West and Barry Allen still lived here. I see they don’t. Sorry to bother you.” Wally spoke at such a rapid fire pace that many would struggle to keep up before he turned to leave. He stopped just on the bottom step when the man at the door told him to wait.
“Who are you and what do you want with my daughter and son?”
Wally’s eyes boggled comically for a second and he spun around. This guy definitely wasn’t his grandfather. “I... er...” he stammered, his usually fast paced mind screeching to a halt like rubber tires on asphalt when the brakes were slammed. “I think I’m on the wrong Earth.”

'I think you misunderstand, Scott Tracy. I have no qualms whatsoever about disposing of your brother, and Thunderbird Five is under my complete control. The rest of your precious Thunderbirds would merely be an added bonus, provided you do, in fact, want this one back to you in... mostly one piece.' The screen flicks to show a groggy John being dragged before a holocamera, tape across his mouth and bruising up his jaw. He's being held between two burly men, clearly the muscle hired to invade their highest flying Thunderbird. 'I have been monitoring your little ascent,' The Hood says, 'and I think you will find yourself unable to access your space station to,' and here he laughs, 'rescue your brother.' - H.G. Silverstone The Hood
Scott doesn’t try to push away the anger that surges at the sight of his brother in such a state. He intends to harness it. To be released at such a moment it will be most effective. So his reply is calm, measured:
“You have spent so long mocking me for my unwillingness to hurt you or your agents, Hood, I do believe you have come to rely upon it too heavily.
Let me make myself perfectly clear - if any further harm comes to my brother, I may find myself unable to balance my desire for revenge with that wish to maintain the moral high ground. The balance may shift in a way that is likely to be to your disadvantage. You may think you have power, Hood, but we have a lot of friends.
The fact my brother is on that station is the only reason we aren’t going to blast it into atoms. You can try your best to steal from us but we will never let you keep it.
So I say again - come and talk to me. Like an adult. Take off the mask for once.”
He mirrors the camera signal back down the Tracy Island - although he’d rather none of the others had to see what he could see, he needed to give Brains and the Mechanic every possible chance to find a way IN to whatever jamming and control system the Hood had smuggled on board. He’d learned from the best but every system had its weak spots all they needed to do was… …
Find someone who already knows where they are.
Scott quietly adds a new one time share invitation to a select part of the IR network and hopes against hope this isn’t going to be a terrible mistake.

The Mechanic nods, dutiful as he listens to Brains' instructions. There's a thick tension in the air, apprehension about what's about to happen and nervousness as to the situation on Thunderbird 5. He hopes it isn't too late, but that gunshot could have meant anything.
His limbs feel like dead weights as he lowers himself into the chair. He briefly pats MAX, his way of saying thank you, before looking up to Brains.
"I have every faith that you will succeed, Brains." The Mechanic says. Whilst it's not a good bye, it feels like one.

Scott knocks one man down, then, across the station, the other thug holding John is taken aback by the spaceman's sudden physical reaction and takes a half step away from him, gun up, pointing wildly between the both of the two Tracy's. John's face is slack, but he's certainly having a bad reaction to whatever's going on inside his head because he's shaking so hard his hands can't control the holograms anymore. The man Scott had been fighting whirls on Kayo as she drops out of the ceiling.
Her back turned to the boys, she doesn't see the gun go off, but she certainly hears it.
The Hood's henchman, irritatingly, managed to dodge her stun as she attempted to knock her out. He swung - she dodged his clumsy attack easily - her fist connected satisfyingly with his jaw and sent him reeling back. Kayo had the advantage of having trained for combat in zero-G, but this guy was a lot bigger than her (just this once, she'd love the bad guys to literally pick on someone their own size, but at least she's used to being at this kind of disadvantage). He thudded against the wall but quickly pushed back towards her. She twisted out of range, taking advantage of his momentum to throw him into the wall again. Still, he wasn't giving up. He managed to grab onto her arm as she shoved him and nearly got her into an armlock. It's sheer muscle memory that had her moving quickly enough to evade him.
Distracted as she was by her opponent, Kayo wasn't keeping tabs on the boys - or on the other thug. The gunshot stopped her dead in her tracks. Her blood ran cold, a ragged sort of inhale straining in her chest. Eyes wide, Kayo whipped round, trying to see where the gun was, who fired it, where the bullet had ended up. She'd never seen a bullet wound in zero-G before. A strange, oddly detached part of her brain wa morbidly curious as to what it'll look like.
A much, much bigger part of her was terrified that she's about to lose someone else close to her by her uncle's hand.
And, stupidly, that fear made her take her eyes off her opponent - something she'd drilled into the Tracy boys during their sparring sessions that they should never do, that she would be furious at them for. It left her wide open. Remembering at the last second, Kayo whirled back round just in time to see the butt of a gun hurtling towards her.

'Scott Tracy.' It's one of The Hood's men who answers him, taking a threatening step toward Thunderbird One's pilot. The taser gets lifted menacingly in his direction, though, behind the action, The Hood doubts this Tracy will be as easy to subdue. Especially not without the strong cocktail of sedatives he gave the first.
Ah well, it's no real loss. In a few minutes the first will have emptied every bank account in London into his own and, if he has more time than that takes, he's considering a nice mass download of top secret GDF files. Jeff's brat shouldn't be hard to hold off for that long. It is his lucky day.
'I have orders to stop you from interfering.' The thug with the big boots says, though it might be a little late for that. It doesn't stop him from rushing at Scott though.
Scott had no time to even acknowledge, let alone process or even vaguely recover from the horror of seeing his brother’s body, his brother’s face so devoid of everything that made him John. A hollowed out version of the man he knew and should know him.
Pushing it violently to the back of his head to haunt him in perpetuity later, Scott focussed his intention on the immediate threat - the muscle-bound, taser-wielding Hood minion about to advance on him with extreme prejudice. He blinked rapidly as the man stepped towards him, removing his foot from the horseshoe strap keeping him floating in place at John’s workstation and then flailing impotently as he foundered in mid-air, unable to reach anything to push against for the momentum he’d forgotten to give himself.
Had he not noticed the gravity ring slowing? Or did he just not understand what it meant?
The man’s face contorted in pain even as he flung his arm out and wildly misfired his taser, hitting the wall several feet to Scott’s left. Scott suddenly recalled that very same look on the face of their former enemy turned friend. So this one wasn’t acting of his own free will either?
That complicated things. It would be wrong to harm him, knowing that, but a lack of sense of self-preservation or instinct to stop when something hurt made the man all the more dangerous.
And the other? Scott spared half a moment’s glance for the other man, standing seemingly placidly next to his brother, but for a weapon, perhaps a pistol this time, aimed almost casually at John’s back. If the Hood thought Scott was winning too easily that might… not go so well for John.
With a slight sigh, Scott curled his legs and pushed hard against the doorframe, propelling himself into the flailing man and slamming him into the toughened glass. Every scrap of rebound momentum absorbed through the surface of his suit, the clash of helmets made his teeth vibrate but didn’t cause him any concern. The empty-eyed man swung for him and Scott let out a cry of pain that was entirely artificial and delivered a solid knee to his opponent’s gut.
Now how to engineer this ‘fight’ close enough to John for Scott to disarm the goon with the gun?
