Here's a fun little thought that popped into my head, Hong-er never got a grave. He was just anouther soldier, just another body burried in a mass grave if at all. Hong-er was never known in life, not truly, he was just a kid on the streets, Hong-er was never mourned, he died just like thousands of other young men did in battle. And maybe that doesn't matter to Hua Cheng since he hates his younger self in a lot of ways, but I wonder how Xie Lian would react when he found out. I like to think Xie Lian would make a little grave for Hong-er, a nice one with his name engraved and flowers planted all around it. And I like to think that seeing that grave for his younger self would heal a part of Hua Cheng that he didn't even know was hurt
