Pakistani Cyclist: Samar Khan - First Woman To Ride A Cycle On Top Of Biafo Glacier

CYCLING ON TOP OF BIAFO GLACIER
Samar Khan is a Pakistani Cyclist and the first woman in the world to
have cycled on the 4,500-metre-high Biafo glacier in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The 26-year-old Samar Khan from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has done Masters in Physics.
She passionately enjoys paragliding, trekking, mountain climbing and cycling.
Samar developed an interest in cycling during her university days.
Her first major ride was from Islamabad to Khunjerab Pass last year.
She also cycled from Minar-e-Pakistan to Wagah border in Lahore along with other cyclists earlier this year.
Samar made an amazing trip to Biafo Glacier on July 24, 2016.
She first left for Skardu and it took her 18 days to reach Biafo.
Due to lack of resources, she could not hire a company for her trip
so she contacted professional mountain climber Asghar Hussain for her journey.
Samar trained herself for six months before setting out for Biafo.
She used to walk on the weekends, routinely visited the gym and also followed a strict diet plan.
While talking about her trip, she said that elevation to Biafo was the toughest part of her journey.
She plans to join the national team and desires to make more challenging tours around the country.
Her mother and siblings greatly supported her during her journey.
Samar wants others to see how beautiful Pakistan is.

Mobeen Ansari is a painter, a sculptor, photojournalist, printmaker,
and storyteller from Islamabad, Pakistan.
He has graduated from the National College of Arts with the major in Painting.
At three weeks of age, he had a severe meningitis attack due
to which he lost most of his hearing and smell.
Somehow this strengthened his visual sense and a keen eye for observation.
Over the years it led to his love for painting and then photography
He travels all over Pakistan to capture ‘uncharted territories’,
beautiful heritage as well as inspirational stories.
Mobeen has worked with publications like Newsweek, Timeline, The Friday Times and a few others.
He launched his first book, with the name Dharkan: the Heartbeat of a Nation last year,
which includes portraits and stories of both iconic and very ordinary people.
The book highlights the visible and unsung heroes of Pakistan,
who have shaped it and continue to work for its betterment
He has launched another book with the title White in the Flag on the 70th birthday of Pakistan.
The book focuses on religious minorities. Mobeen has explored the diversity,
depth, and vibrancy of its religions, cultures, and subcultures in his book.
Hello, Magazine selected him as one of Pakistan’s Hot 100 talents.
His biggest dream is to capture the Earth and other wonders from outer space as he is greatly fascinated by nature.

Abdul Mueed is differently abled amazing Pakistani entrepreneur
who is successfully running his own Home Food Delivery Startup
He was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy at the age of 7 — a rare disease,
where a person cannot move a single part of his body without help.
Despite this, he continued his passion for education and passed matriculation with first division.
After that, he got admission in his dream institution the Government College University of Lahore.
He later went on to take admission in the University of Central Punjab
but had to drop out after 2 months because of his worsening condition.
When his condition got stable after a year, he decided to do something productive with his life.
He wrote an autobiography and created his own blog along the way.
He also started his own welfare trust to help other differently abled people.
With the moral support of his mother, he started his own homemade Food business and came up with his website Rasoi.pk
He targeted a very profitable niche and started supplying food to offices and restaurants.
Rasoi.pk has turned into a successful business with a lot of clients from various places. It gets supplies from meat and vegetable suppliers.
Abdul Mueed’s mother cooks the dishes according to a pre-decided menu and forwards them to a destination with the help of delivery boys.
He currently has 5 people working with him, including himself and his mother and interacts with his customers through his Facebook page.
He is now planning to launch a mobile app for Rasoi.pk.
Mueed comes up with the message of never losing hope.
He says that he himself got success on his 3rd attempt so one should continue trying.

Fatima Hassan is a highly talented, confident, and differently abled Pakistani graphic designer.
She was born as a normal kid. At the age of 10, she was affirmed with a rare
a neuromuscular disease named “Dystonia” which affected her trunk, neck, and right leg.
Around two years later, the disease traveled to her vocal cords; she developed “Dysphonia” and almost lost her voice.
After she was diagnosed with this disease, her mother took it upon herself to make sure that she never feels alienated.
She communicates with people by writing on her iPad or her cell phone.
Fatima got admission into Beaconhouse National University but the first year was hard.
Fatima had to work extra hard to make her mark and she succeeded in doing so.
She graduated in 2015 with three dean’s honors and thesis distinctions.
Fatima was selected as an inspiring woman for UN Women Pakistan’s recent campaign.
She’s just an ordinary girl from Lahore and has managed to
soar to new heights despite the extra set of challenges she faces.
Fatima is a living testimony to the fact that people with disabilities don’t need your help,
what they need is an environment that supports them to achieve their potential.

Inspiring Story of Pakistani female Ski Racer Insha Afsar is a Pakistani girl with one leg who is representing Pakistan as a ski racer in Paralympics 2018. In 2005, when the northern areas of Pakistan were struck by an earthquake, Insha lost her left leg up to the hip. She was one of the 138,000 people injured in the devastating earthquake. Insha came to the USA after six months of the earthquake for her prosthesis. After TIMES magazine photographed her, she caught the attention of one of its editors,

who offered his space to her and also sent her to school. She is now tearing down the giant slalom course at Loon Mountain as she competes for a top position in the US Paralympic Alpine National Championships. Insha Afsar competed with more than 40 athletes in US Paralympic Alpine National Championship in 2015. Today, Insha is one of the best skiers in Pakistan and is going to represent her country in the upcoming Paralympics 2018 in South Korea.
