You don’t want to compromise your health for a kick it, or go into the New Year sick. We want to go into the New Year healthy and happy.

Mommy Shanelle Gets Cozy With Us
Hi Mommy, Introduce yourself.
-Hi!! My name is Shanelle Holmes, I'm 33 years old and currently I reside in Charlotte, NC. I am from Cleveland, OH.
How many kids do you have?
I have 2 children. My son Mack is 2 and my daughter Lena Zen is 5 months old.
How did your pregnancy/pregnancies go and is there something that you would do differently?
My pregnancies went well. I honestly don't have any complaints.
What three words would describe your motherhood journey?
Courage, Determination, Healing
What advice would you give to new mothers?
I'd tell a new mom to trust her judgement and intuition when it comes to caring for her child.
Did you go through Postpartum Depression? If so, what helped you overcome the depression?
Fortunately, I did not go through postpartum depression. I believe meditation helped me stay positive. It still does.
Are there any Mommys on Social Media that you follow? Who are they?
Yes so many! I follow @halfietruths, @ase_doula_co, @fashiondree, @shayna.ceo, @miaray and so many others. I love seeing their tips. We can learn so much from each other when we share information.
What do you do to stay in tune with yourself while being a mother?
I try to get up earlier than everyone in my home and just have time to myself. I cleanse my skin really well. I make myself either tea or just a large glass of water and take a few moments for myself.
Mommy, what do you do to stay cozy?
I believe your home should be your sanctuary. I keep things around my home that bring me peace. So that every time I see them, I feel the cozy, positive vibes. My favorite item is my Himalayin salt night light.

accept that not everyone is going to appreciate you. accept that your personality won’t mesh with everyone. accept that you are not defined by someone else’s opinion of you. accept yourself for your strengths and weaknesses. please just accept you and not anyone else’s idea of you.
