I’ll never understand why anthropomorphic animal cartoons like Robin Hood and Zootopia will go to the trouble of creating character designs that are meant to be understood as “attractive” or even “sexy” to the human audience but explicitly avoid showing interspecies romances between anthropomorphic animals. Why is THAT weird but, like, trying to make rabbits recognizably sexy-coded to humans isn’t?

my friend @budaflyhi & their roommate are Black people disabled by LC & more. their slumlord wants them out of their property by December 31st, even if it means being homeless in the Winter. & it does.

A make-ready home was promised at move-in. Immediately, that was not the case. Many home repairs, one after another. A broken fridge cost them food, multiple times. Sewage flood in basement incurred total damage to washer/dryer. A fuck-ton of unexpected costs & setbacks (that weren't their fault) later, they're being told to leave. with nothing to their name. nowhere to go. just... +3k in utility debt, and their heat shut off since April.

This GFM goal of $7k will go towards this abrupt displacement, to make it as smooth as possible. Per GFM page, their first major goal ($3k) must be reached before Nov 22nd (application & deposits). In meantime, direct don0s are needed too (through this link). In order to focus GFM, they must raise November rent early, by Monday Oct 7th. Otherwise, the 410/1030 raised so far will have to be used as survival funds & major goals will be pushed back.

The only way forward is helping this reach *beyond* the people that are *already doing what they can.*

i just don't think it's fair for people to demand that trans people succinctly and correctly define the Self because that's something philosophers have been trying to do since the beginning of time and they haven't cracked it yet.

i can't tell you the Meaning of Identity but i can tell you how i feel + the impact of that on my life + what the current history and research and science says + the genuine violent harm being done to my community + how we as a society should care more about preventing that harm + explain observable reality. which like. i think that should be enough, no?

if you are a trans man or masc who has ever been asked to tone down your masculinity in order to make other people feel safer and more comfortable, i just want you to know that you're doing nothing wrong by being a masc and/or man. there's nothing wrong with masculinity or manhood. you are not inherently dangerous or a threat for being those things. they are refusing to make the space safe for you, not the other way around.

you are not inherently harming anyone by virtue of existing as a man and/or masc. you don't have to tone down your identity for anyone. you are not endangering someone else's identity by having your own. there's nothing to be ashamed of or wrong with being a masc and/or man. hang in there
