I love this! 

This morning when I was vacuuming, I felt a strong urge to write. I don’t think many people read my blog (other than my mom, hehe) but I really want to speak what is on my heart, even if it is for myself. These past few weeks, especially this last one, have really opened my eyes to something. How quickly we allow fear and satan to rule us, control us, enter in our thoughts, and take hold of us. We continue to spiral, and go into these deep holes that it literally feels like we cannot get out from. Just as I am writing this, my phone beeped with another “Breaking News” that makes me want to check. Why though? Why do I want to check things that make me run towards fear, panic, and hysteria. Yes, it is good to be cautious, and know the base of what is going on… but, to truly act how we (myself included) have been acting.. it just makes me really sad. It makes me ask one question: “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Why am I choosing fear? Why am I choosing to tell myself that this fear is understandable, reasonable, and accurate - when I serve our Savior? The Most High. The Prince of PEACE. The LIVING God. The God who never fails, never changes, and is ALWAYS the same. I have followed the Lord now for about 10 years… and during moments like these, I am reminded of how quickly my faith fails and my dire need for Him every day. Every second. Every moment. Over these past few days, I have seen many people passionate to stay safe, to stay away from germs, to get that last toilet paper!- but- what if our passion turned towards Jesus. What if everyday we woke up with that passion to serve. What if everyday we longed to be closer to God rather than our phones, the news, the TV- what if every day, we ran to the Bible to find out more and learn more about our living and Holy God? This morning I woke up and said- that’s enough. Instead of choosing fear, I will choose Him. Have you ever noticed how quickly your heart begins to beat when you read things that induce anxiety, or watch things that make you panic? But then… the moment you go to the Bible, you feel an overwhelming, in explainable, indescribable PEACE. I felt that..and I know it was God. Just the other day I was talking to my friend about how quickly we allow fear to creep in. Everyday I fail, I fear, I fall short- but I am grateful that I serve a God who never will give up on me. Who will love me unconditionally, who will not panic, but will remind me that He has given me the gift of peace, no matter what is happening around me. I hope that who ever reads this is blessed and will feel peace that is indescribable. That you will look around the world, and pray. I also pray that you will serve, love, and help others at any moment you get- because you are the light. You are the light in the darkness. You are the calm that the Lord will use in the chaos. Even though I’ve read this before… I have been reading it line by line, very slowly..try it :-)! Psalm 46: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth. He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire. Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
