We have a lot of worms around here, or we did. The parents are constantly feeding these babies.

The heron rookery is in the tree below the heron, going out after delivering twigs for it's nest. The airport flight path was right over the rookery, nice of them to show off flight styles together.

A brief but heavy spring rain hitting the redbud blossoms, didn't bother them at all.

The dogwood are shining in the early morning sun and so far have managed to avoid the frosts.

The snowdrops are glorious this spring, every spring actually.

The crocus come up through anything, here they are mixed in with lavender.

The crocus are in full bloom, hanging out with the lavender plants for a nice contrast. Our neighbor's honeybees must not have made it through our weird winter this year though as there were none in sight. Our mason bees have started to hatch so maybe some of them will show up.

The sun finally came out after weeks of gray and gloom.

Jewels are washing up on the shoreline at Lake Michigan.

Walking out on the ice shelf is dangerous. The waves come up underneath and holes can open up that you could fall in. It's really hard to resist though, especially when it looks solid and like lots of other people made it.

In between all the melting snow hills, a feral chicken appears.

The orchard in the snowstorm will in a few months be carrying a coat of apple blossoms instead of snow.
