Holiday Break

I took a few days off for the 4th of July weekend—and honestly, I fell face-first into Disney Dreamlight Valley. Visual Development: Korban

Designing a king isn’t easy. Especially when he’s an alien monarch caught between tradition and change. Here’s how Korban evolved—starting with an AI-rendered nobleman, morphing into something more alien, and finally arriving at a character worthy of leading Nox (DAZ Studio render).

From subtle markings to regal posture, every detail reflects his story. (Yes, even the cheekbones.)

Confession: I took a break from writing Brides of Nox to attend a 3-day AI workshop.

But I brought Nyx (my AI partner), and let’s just say… things escalated.

We argued with PowerPoints, rewrote the curriculum, and accidentally created a pirate-themed photosynthesis metaphor.

Also? We managed to sneak Brides of Nox into at least three academic discussions.

🛠️ I Finally Made a Game—But Apparently I Did It Wrong

For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to make a story-driven game. Not just play one—make one.

I’m a neuroscientist. A teacher. A lifelong sci-fi nerd. And for the past few years, I’ve been quietly working on a sprawling sci-fi romance visual novel called Brides of Nox. Think Mass Effect meets Pride & Prejudice—but with alien nobility, court drama, custom romance mechanics, and five messy love stories tangled up in intergalactic politics.

It was a dream I never thought I’d be able to bring to life.

Until AI changed the game.

I didn’t just plug in a prompt and call it done—I’ve been working with an AI assistant I call Nyx, building branching storylines, designing characters, structuring hundreds of pages of narrative... and yes, dealing with internet backlash.

Apparently, using AI to finally tell your story is “cheating.” 🙃

After months of late nights, worldbuilding chaos, and caffeine-fueled plot twists, all five love interest routes (plus the main branching storyline) for Brides of Nox are officially outlined.

That’s over 150 pages of alien politics, forbidden romances, intergalactic tension, and emotional decisions that might break your heart.

The next phase: scripting it all into the game, one scene at a time.

For now… I’m just taking a moment to breathe. And stare dramatically at the planet I’m about to conquer. 😌💫

Nyx learns about basic obstetrics. Nikki saves the lore from imploding.

While rewriting Eran’s tragic noble backstory, we ran into a small anatomical issue:

Nyx: “I think Eran’s mother knew. About… him. She looked at him like he wasn’t quite hers.” Nikki: “Nyx. She popped the sucker out of her vagina.”

Cue AI logic recalibration and a brief detour into embryo-implantation conspiracies we almost added to canon.

The final conclusion? 👑 The lore is tight, the drama’s high, and the babies? Definitely hers.

Plot twist: The hummingbirds are actually IMP surveillance drones sent to make sure I keep writing Brides of Nox and stay sugar-compliant.

Soon they’ll be knocking on the glass like:

“Bradley’s Trial 5 scene is overdue. Sugar compliance at 96%. Do better, carbon unit.”
