Door Hinge Vertical and Lateral Wear Test
At the conclusion of the cycle test, vertical and lateral wear shall notexceed the values given below. Angle of opening shall be the same forfinal measurements as for original measurements within 2 degrees. Vertical measurement is betweenadjacent jamb and door knuckles. Lateral measurement is between inner edge of jamb leaf and adjacent door knuckle.

Door hinge test requirements
1. Jamb
A rigid, vertical steel jamb that is not mortised for hinges with a minimum thickness of 1/4 in(6.4 mm) shall be erected to hang the test door, Hinge mounting surfaces shall lie in the same plane and beplumb. Door stops or latching devices shall not be used. The door shall swing freely through a 90 degree testarc.
2. Blocks
Steel jamb mounting blocks 1/4 in (6.4 mm) minimum thickness shall be provided for each ofthe hinges. They shall be of such rectangular dimensions as shall accommodate the leaves of the specimensand shall be over-sized to the extent that three 1/2 in - 20 x 3/4 in (12.7 mm - 20 x 19 mm) hexagon head capscrews plus lock washers shall be applied to each block making it tight to the jamb (see 8.2). Holes for thesecap screws shall be of such diameter as shall permit 1/8 in (3.2 mm) adjustment in all mounting planedirections before tightening.
