The all-male Shakespeare’s Globe repertory productions of William Shakespeare’s TWELFTH NIGHT and RICHARD III have recouped their $3.1 million capitalization costs this week, officially entering the hit column. The productions, which opened on Broadway on November 10, 2013 to ecstatic and universal critical praise, have been playing to capacity crowds at Broadway’s Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street), where they have broken the house record several times.
Good work chaps.

Stagedooring Ettiquite and Why It Mattters (regardless of who the cast is)
I was going to do this a few days ago, on the night I saw Mojo at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London (shameless plug: if you’re able to see it before it closes 8 February, absolutely do it; it’s astounding), but I needed to give myself a bit of time to think over what I was going to say, and how I was going to say it, before talking about it.
Fantastic show aside, the most baffling thing about the experience was what happened after the show. For those of you who don’t know anything about Mojo, it’s a play based on SoHo in the late 1950’s with a stunning cast - Rupert Grint, Colin Morgan, and Ben Whishaw included among them - and a very, very tiny venue. As you can imagine, it’s hard enough to get tickets as it is, but many of the people who made the trip to see the show were likely there for, well, one of the three people stated above.
(I should mention here that the remainder of the cast: Daniel Mays, an absolute stand out; Brendan Coyle; and Tom Rhys Harries [who were also fantastic] are just lesser known than the three mentioned prior, though, ironically, this post has to do more with them than anything.)

The second helping of my Coriolanus poster set. I’m happy with, like, 3 of these. I may fiddle with the others. It got a little Tom-tastic tonight. Other characters will be featured!
Are you getting excited for the NT Live screening yet? If not, why the hell not?!
