For today's Throwback Thursday, we recognize the wonder that was wonderstudy Nicholas Christopher as Sweeney Todd in the Third Broadway Revival. I was so lucky to see this production 13 times, and 6 of those were with Nick as Sweeney. If you want to see him in his current role as Seymour in Little Shop at the Westside Theater, you'd better hurry!

Recorded from front row mezzanine. Significant improvement in filming technique since my first Sweeney video. The railing for the mezzanine gets in the way a little sometimes, but nothing that major. NFS forever except through master and NFT through September 24, 2028.

Oooh, I’m reading heated comments about Jordan being casted for Orpheus now, and there’s an interesting take I didn’t take into account when I first posted the announcement. This again is a low blow for all the understudies that have been and are on Hadestown, how about Chibueze Ihuoma (let us remember he was Tour Orpheus)?, what about Brandon Cameron? Guesses are (and I agree with them) Betty Who wasn’t the push they needed for the show (and I can see why, she is lame, she is slow, she is lacking of everything that makes Persephone, Persephone, is horrendous and painful and their PPRR efforts to make her happen just demonstrated how badly she lacks of everything it is needed to portray Persephone), and while I love Jordan’s voice I haven’t really see his acting (vocally, I loved what he did for Rent, and for Sweeney, his voice is butter in my ears I truly love how soft and nice, yet clear it is, it just makes me happy) that some people seem to think he could be lacking of.

And that’s it for now, hopefully he will do justice and make a great season at the show, as for at least I now vocally he will make a great refreshment :)
