📚Do you read your own Fic?

Sometimes, lol. Especially when I’m writing a new chapter, I like to see that my wording and prose is all continuous. Helps me keep the narrative in flow. Other times I try not to, otherwise I get all up in my head about grammar or spelling or just paragraphs that could be better.

I love your works so much btw!!!! I’ve definitely read them more than my own, lol.

🍰 Name one of your fave comfort fics.

Wow, this is hard. I’d say something I go back to a lot, because it’s so well-written and so sweet and one of the first works I read in the fandom years ago is “Same Same but Different” by Ferritin4. There’s something wonderful about a cross-fandom work that doesn’t need to try so hard. (And even if Neymar has officially been on my shit-list for a good while now, him in fanfic is so well-meaning and sweet.)

🧠 What’s an idea you have that you can’t quite call a WIP yet?

I’ve been wanting to do an AU for so long now. Like a Uni AU so badly, I’ve got stuff written, like random tidbits. I don’t even know who the pairing would be. Or the context. It’s just something I’ve been thinking about for so long and sometimes I want to just dive straight into my notes and give it some life somehow.

There’s oftentimes when I wanna just publish all my WIPs or ideas just as they are, lol. Cause I know they’ll never get finished and I don’t want them rotting and dying in my drafts ahahaha.

💖 What do you like most about your own writing?

I think the freedom it gives me. Just to get something off my chest, to say how I’m feeling about the world in a different way. Or through some-one else’s eyes, whether that’s about love or friendship or relationships.

🌙 What time of day do you prefer to write? Why?

Nighttime! Always. Idk why. My brain literally gets more awake at night. It’s been like that since I was at uni, I’ve basically conditioned myself to be inspired when it’s dark. There’s something about being in a dark room, with a lamp and a candle and my laptop that just gets me in the zone.

💻Do you do research for your fics? What’s the deepest dive you’ve done?

Constantly researching dates for games and stadiums and areas of cities on maps. Just to give context and a timeline, even if by the end it’s all thrown on its head because nothing in football goes to plan lol.

The deepest dive I’ve ever done was for a Neymar/Kylian Fic that I published months ago now. It’s my proudest work mainly because I did a lot of research intro maladaptive dreaming and lucid dreaming, which was so cool and interesting.

Okayyyy?! Erm. I think “Authentic” is a good one, or at least something I attempt to strive for, which is ridiculous in the world of fanfic but hey-ho. We can all dream lol. Secondly, probably also “dreamy”, which is a juxtaposition I do realise but I think that’s one of the best things about writing. I love reading in bed just before I sleep and this is oftentimes when I write too, so I think (or hope) that there’s something especially dream-like about my writing. Thirdly. Probably “positive”— like, even if there’s ups and downs in the narrative, I don’t like cliffhangers or endings on a bad-note. Even with complex characters, they’re wholly positive.

What a load of waffle ahhaha. It’s so horrible trying to complement you’re own writing.

⏰ Do you spend more time reading Fic, writing Fic, or do you do both equally?

This has changed drastically over the years. I used to only read and write just for myself. Now it’s definitely split equally. I like to find a good balance between inspiration and down-times. When I’m having a bad day, reading is always my go-to. If I’m having a better day, I’m definitely writing.

Hmm. Officially it’s only one, but my draft and pages has about four 😂

There’s a Dom/Trent prostitute Fic I’m not sure will ever get finished. I started and never finished a Kylian/Trent Fic ages ago, which recently transformed into a strange threesome Fic with Jude since the unofficial Real Madrid signing. I’m really trying to stay focused on my current project before I dive into something else.

💭What is a headcanon you have about your own work?

Ooh, this is very interesting. I think I’m quite broad with this one, and if you’ve read any of my works you might have caught this but, I tend to complicate the majority of my characters feelings threefold. (Does that even make sense, lol?) In my most recent Jude/Trent Fic for example, I’m complicating Trent’s over-thinking as well as Jude’s perseverance. It makes the characters feel way more real even if in real life we know very little about their inside-thoughts.

🌝 Who is one character you haven’t written for that you would like to?

This is hard, ffs. There’s so many. It used to be Ibou, because he was always my favourite on the Liverpool squad ahead of Trent. Saying that, I’ve been loving Tchouaméni/Camavinga recently. There’s been some great fics on Ao3 that have really hit the spot. With Kylian joining Madrid soon (he will always be one of my faves, one of the only players I’ve seen up-close and playing for real that took my breath away aside from Ronaldinho) I’m very excited to see how these pairings for Madrid develop!!

anyway the actual point of fandom is to inspire each other. reading each other's fics and admiring each other's art and saying wow i love this and i feel something and i want to invoke this in other people, i want to write a sentence that feels like a meteor shower, i want to paint a kiss with such tenderness it makes you ache, i want to create something that someone else somewhere will see it and think oh, i need to do that too, right now. i am embracing being a corny cunt on main to say inspiring each other is one of the things humanity is best at and one of the things fandom is built for and i think that's beautiful
