Styraphant average size ref! They're p large. Lady on the left and gentleman on the right! The males are a good percentage larger than the gals and are mainly differentiated by their 'bottom heavy' crest. Which is mainly for show.

You have seen my brief worldbuilding pieces, but I have never really told anyone about this Universe.
It's a science-fantasy taking place in a galaxy resulting from the collision of the Milky Way and Andromeda Galaxy, so in a very far future. But billions of years before all those species were created, humans also existed and became insanely advanced. They have never met any other lifeforms, so they made hundreds if not thousands species of single-cell organisms designed to survive the environment of many specific planets, to populate the barren Universe with life. However, humanity went extinct due to unknown reasons, and only few of the human-made organisms managed to thrive in their new environments and evolve further, and the species shown here are those cells, but around 3-4 billion years later.
Also their height chart:

two guys with matching copula dropping in present tense in their native languages... new level of gayness
i got possessed by conlanging spirit and began reworking Ruomic (the upper conlang) which i've been trying to create since 2020 but it never worked out the way i wanted (especially because i lacked experience with tones and pitch accent). hopefully this time i will finally settle with what i'm doing......
the latter conlang is Astarian and let's just pretend that it is more than a paper cutout posing as a conlang with at least basic grammar rules fleshed out, i literally had to improvise the possessive pronoun to make this simple as fuck sentence
anyways the idea that they are gonna teach each other their native languages has been living in my head rent free for years now so yeah im so fucking happy about these drawings and the conlangs
and about the script – it is basically the latin script but for Kélas, with it being the most widespread script on the continent. it is just a simple alphabet with some more "exotic" stuff like special glyph for marking long consonants and separate diacritic for marking long vowels. the inspiration was mainly the armenian script (shocking)

maanul coastal fauna, several land crustacean, a wet thing (i say fish but its more complicated), and a bug that is widely owned as a pet in homes and appreciated for its look. Maanuls think they look like them. They hold spiritual importance in sani group.

Due to their lack of expressive eyebrows and forehead ridges, selkie are regarded by humans to be 'difficult' to read. Of course selkie send plenty of signals of their emotional state through body language, chuffs and whuffs, and other cues formed in selkie culture (e.g. thumping the tail twice to express pleasure/contentment). Many an ignorant tourist to Antarctica have commented that a selkie "just snapped at them" when the truth is that the selkie likely tolerated a great deal of intrusion and annoyance before showing their teeth.
Conversely, selkie find humans extremely hard to read with the overemphasis on the face as a means to cue the viewer in to what the human is feeling. Selkie particularly having trouble making eye contact with humans. Having divided the world into creatures with 'hard eyes' and 'soft eyes', selkie find humans large, and frankly wet, eyes to be hard to look at along with a general culture of staring being seen as an assertion of dominance. This also leads to a general idea that humans are always vying to climb the social hierarchy when they are simply engaging in active listening.
