Unless you are buying original art, or prints, from artists whose work you love (which I always recommend as the first choice) don’t bother spending money on those Target, Hobby Lobby and HomeGoods prints when you can do it yo-self! Get yourself some frames, a thick stack of watercolor paper (or paper for your preferred medium), and get out those brushes and paints. Search through Pinterest for some inspiration and start painting! You most likely won’t like the 1-10th one you paint, but stick to the original inspiration and learn as you go to find what you love and hate about each one until you hit your sweet spot! We moved into our new home, and we love it! Living in Arizona, I tend to look back at my life in California with rose colored glasses. There are wonderful things about both states, and not great things. In Arizona, young families are able to afford homes with property and also have money to travel. Living in California, people are often house poor and there isn’t money to travel, but who needs to travel when you have the beach, mountains, the desert, etc in your backyard! Arizona has been knitting its place in my heart, and this home has definitely helped. I’m able to travel back to CA for work often, while my family is making roots in Arizona and being greatly cared for by my parents. It’s the best of both words for us. Things are crazy busy. I’ve been making over our new home, and I just finished a huge @disney job for their social media that will release some time in August. I also have @disneyd23 coming up! Happy summer, everyone! I painted the van Gogh portraits in Europe, the paper version isn’t finished just yet. I’m hoping to use the impressionistic style of van Gogh’s on the paper portrait using paint. I’m all over the place with making art this week. It’s probably because I should be doing something else (packing for our move🤦🏻‍♀️😜) so I’m inspired to create things I’ve been putting off until school was out. I have some Disney items due, I’m teaching classes @michaelsstores next month, and I need to complete some personal art to sell. Van Gogh and Picasso are my two favorite artists, so I made a pair of paper portraits of them. I’m not sure if I’ll be adding these to my Etsy, or selling them at a booth sometime in the near future.
