I love this moment. Troy is genre-savvy. He knows zombie movies and he knows that in zombie movies once anyone is zombified, that’s it, they’re lost, you kill them or they kill you. There can’t be any mercy or hesitation. He shows no qualms whatsoever about punching Pierce and Annie when they block his way and the only reason he hadn’t punched Shirley yet was because he couldn’t come up with a good punchline immediately. 

And then Abed grabbed him. Zombie Abed. The last words he’d said to him had been a declaration of love. Abed is the only person he couldn’t fight.

Troy is genre-savvy. He knows that Abed’s a zombie now and there is no Abed left, but he looks him in the eyes and fully expects their friendship to be stronger than this. Because he loves him and zombie or not Abed would surely remember that.

There are so many reasons I love this episode.
