If you write itasasu fanfiction you should know Sasuke never called Itachi "aniki". Only "nii-san" or just "Itachi", and this is important to understand if you want to write close to canon.

People think that "usuratonkachi" is Sasuke's special word, and they are right, but not all of them know that the first person who said that word was Naruto, not Sasuke. Naruto called Sasuke "usuratonkachi" before their fighting in school.

Also Sasuke wasn't the first who called Naruto "dobe". He just repeated what Iruka said.

Anyone who can't appreciate Sasuke's most important relationship in the manga with Naruto don't deserve to be called a Sasuke fan. You're no different than the SasuSaku fans who don't realize that Sasuke's biggest happiness is to be with Naruto himself. The only person Sasuke smiled to is Naruto only. first of all, before we even begin, I’m going to tell you something very important that you’re not gonna like.

gatekeeping the fandom and trying to force people to ship what you do makes you a manipulative asshole.

I don’t deserve to be called a sasuke fan? go fuck yourself you sauerkraut-filled hefty bag. if I say I’m a fan, guess what, I’m a fucking fan, and I’ll be one in whatever way I goddamn please.

I don’t know who you think you are or why you think you’re entitled to decide who interacts with this fandom or how they do it, but you need to step the fuck back and get over yourself.

now, here’s something else you won’t like. ready?

someone can be important to sasuke without him wanting to fuck them.

I mean honestly, nonny. boruto is important to him, you think he wants to fuck him? he cares about sarada, does he wanna fuck her? karin, suigetsu, and juugo were important to him in shippuden, did he wanna fuck them? he called team seven dear to him, did he wanna fuck sakura and kakashi?

what you’re doing is forcing your own view of their relationship onto others; onto me, and onto anyone else you told should ship SNS because it’s the only way to “appreciate” their relationship. it’s bullshit.

what you’re also doing is enforcing the idea that men can’t care about one another without sex. you’re erasing the possibility of them having a close but platonic friendship, or a brotherly one, which is how they reference their bond multiple times, from their own words to their having inherited chakra from actual brothers.

and you know what? it’s particularly bad in this fandom when it’s sasuke. if he shows even the slightest inkling of caring about someone–naruto, sakura, and karin especially–people start squealing that it’s canon and proof that he’s in love.

no, it’s proof that he’s a deeply caring and self-sacrificing character. no more and no less. anything else you make it out to be is on you.

now, I could end this here. your entire ask is garbage and I’ve said what needs to be said about it. but…if there’s one thing I love to do in this fandom, it’s shit on SNS. and naruto, for that matter. I just can’t resist such a prime opportunity.

so let’s start with the best part of this ask.

SNS shippers are guaranteed to say this dumb shit every single time, and it is always, always hilarious to me. sorry to burst your bubble, nonny, but naruto doesn’t even hold a candle to sasuke’s most important relationship, nor his most precious person.

I mean, he does care about him. I’d be as dumb as this ask if I tried to say otherwise. in fact, he cares about naruto more than any other person currently alive in the boruto era, the sole exception maybe being one of the kids. maybe.

but his most important relationship, and his most precious person, is and always has been itachi.

this has nothing to do with ships. this has to do with literally every single second sasuke is on screen. if you went through this series and came out believing that he loves naruto more than itachi I can only conclude that you skipped any chapter or episode that had sasuke in it.

naruto isn’t even his most important after itachi. after itachi are his parents and clan, and only then does naruto make the list. we know this for a fact. after all, if sasuke loved naruto more than itachi or his clan, he never would have chosen to abandon team seven and konoha to pursue justice for them.

now I’ll admit. sasuke is naruto’s most important relationship, and his most precious person. he is the driving force behind everything naruto does throughout the series.

but sasuke? sasuke’s driving force is and always has been itachi. and we see this especially after obito reveals the truth of the massacre to him.

the things he did in pursuit of justice for itachi’s suffering and the restoration of his honour are things he never did or would have done for anyone else. he wanted to raze konoha, naruto included, to the ground. he damn near instigated a war against all five nations singlehandedly in order to get to the man who’d orchestrated the massacre and destroyed itachi’s life.

and that man? he fucking crushed him to death for talking shit about itachi.

those aren’t things he ever did or would ever do for naruto.

now you can claim the curse of hatred made him do things he wouldn’t normally; I’d call you a fucking idiot, because the curse of hatred doesn’t exist. but let’s suppose it does. when did sasuke fall to it?

it wasn’t after seeing his entire ethnic bloodline massacred before his eyes.

it wasn’t after voluntarily leaving konoha and naruto’s bloody body behind.

it wasn’t after fighting naruto with intent to kill.

it was after he learned that itachi had loved him and died trying to protect him.

that was the loss that tipped him over the edge, because the curse of hatred doesn’t exist, but sasuke’s unstable mental state certainly did. that was what broke him.

and you know what brought him back?

itachi.

it was meeting itachi again. it was being with him, finding closure with him. it was having itachi finally tell him, all the secrets and lies between them discarded, that he loved him and always would.

that’s what made sasuke self-reflect and search for answers. that’s what made sasuke summon the kages trying to learn more, so he could figure out his next step with confidence.

that’s what led him to joining the war, which he’d been entirely disinterested in until that point.

and still, even after that point, he was driven by itachi.

I don’t see him thinking about naruto here. he’s dying, he’s bleeding out and in agony, and all he can think about, all he wants to live for, is to make itachi’s dream come true.

his revolution was based entirely on his reverence towards itachi working to protect from the shadows. he was willing to kill naruto for that. he still, even in the boruto era, holds onto that value and works in the shadows in the same way, and he’s teaching it to naruto’s son.

he was ready to suffer for the rest of his life to make itachi’s dream of peace come true.

hell, naruto can’t even convince sasuke to go back to konoha, or if he must go back, stomach it for more than a day or so. but you know what has?

remembering itachi.

so you know, nonny, I’m going to have to turn your own question back around on you. if you’re a sasuke fan, why don’t you ship itasasu? I mean, surely that’s the only way to appreciate his most important relationship.

sasuke is miserable because the piece of shit elders that supported the uchiha genocide are still in fucking power.

sasuke is miserable because his life is a slog of atonement for things he shouldn’t be sorry for.

sasuke is miserable because naruto cared more about having control over him than actually making konoha a place sasuke would be safe and happy in.

sasuke is miserable because the people in konoha think he just “went crazy”.

sasuke is miserable because his clan is still red-taped and it’s illegal for him to speak out about their oppression and the prejudice lodged in the heart of konoha’s political power.

sasuke is miserable because the senju monopoly has finally succeeded at wiping away the uchiha and coming out looking heroic for it.

sasuke is miserable because he honestly, truly believed in naruto.

sasuke is miserable because naruto fucking lied.

nearly everything currently wrong in sasuke’s life is because of naruto. you think getting a blowjob is gonna fix all of this? you think some assfuckin’ is gonna make sasuke happy? do you really?

no, I’m not an SNS fan. I cannot, in good conscience, support him being romantically involved with a man who can’t even bother to fire the fucking elders who wanted him dead as a child. who learned the truth of the massacre and didn’t even care enough to want to make the village safe for sasuke before dragging him back kicking and screaming.
