bircheyes is a reclusive doctor who generally does not like to participate in conversations, he prefers to just observe and listen to the others in his den. they were the mentor of coldsnap, too young to know how to teach properly let alone how to deal with someone who had a killer instinct, they get along well now but a near murder attempt had to happen for coldsnap to respect them.

i don't think i talk about houndstrike lore enough, so here's a summary of everything that happens in his apprenticeship. just for fun.

he starts as a normal cat, he has a brother and a single parent (dogpaw and purrchime) his kithood is totally chill and nothing really happens. only when he starts his apprenticeship things start to get complicated, halfstar appoints ratheart as his mentor, rat is one of the most aggressive and rough warrior of the clan and he's a awful mentor, he trains with his claws and pushes houndpaw a lot, Both rockpaw and dogpaw try to talk to halfstar to change houndpaw's mentor but they fail. houndpaw IS a great apprentice bc of ratheart methods but this significantly harmed how he perceived other cats, everyone outside of breezeclan was a constant threat to hound. he finally will become a warrior after so much time suffering he will finally free himself from ratheart and become a warrior along with his brother and best friend but then. dogpaw dies and everything spirals.

ratheart is a bastard at heart, Her upbringing wasn't that bad, even though ravendust had her difficulties and wasn't the best mother, micewhisker supplied anything his (ratheart) mother couldn't. So there is no clear reason why he became like this, his sister, Mousescar was always the target of competition, he had to prove that he was better than her and to whom? to his uncle, halftail, who was the deputy at the time and always pampered his nephew when he showed his violence.

his tail is naked bc he had a infection, his darker scars are also result of the same infection
