I finally made a press kit
Happy Saturday, friends! It's time for
✨Fiction Podcast Self Promo Saturday!✨
Every week I invite audio drama folks to share their achievements and shout out anything they'd like to promote! My intention is to get more eyes and ears on all the awesome fiction podcasts out there, and to introduce folks to some cool new audio dramas!
If you have a podcast, a new episode, a crowdfunding campaign, casting call, or anything else audio drama related that you'd like to promote, reblog this post! I'll reblog every one I see throughout the day!
I also want to hear from folks who are planning on releasing a fiction podcast this year! I've created a page on my blog (here) which features audio dramas due to launch in 2025, which folks have told me about, or I've found information on. I'm updating and adding to this page throughout the year, and podcasts once launched will remain on the page for ease of discovery.

just straight up have not been paid for the whole month of june (when i worked sixty hour weeks, by the fucking way) and am not hedging my bets that this money is ever going to find its way to me, which puts me in a position colloquially known as "Absolutely Fucked" because i don't even have the money to cover my next rent installment, let alone, like, food. the only two jobs who have gotten back to me are positions at places that are opening in late august/september and i've not got anything until then (if i even get those!) because i'm being ghosted by this agency for some fucking reason. was very much relying on this money to cover my ass which in my defense i don't think was unreasonable of me due to how jobs are traditionally expected to "pay you." so. hello again.

The health disaster is due to the lack of health in the country due to
The harsh conditions that Gaza is going through and the spread of diseases
The skin infection invaded Joseph's face and body
The pimples that appear on his face invade all parts of his body
Also, his sister Sham suffers from the same thing because the disease is contagious

After losing all necessities of life, the loss of the health system also causes illness in our children

Help Youssef and his family live a decent life and improve treatment and life arrangements

I don't feel like I exist like other people do. People *sometimes* acknowledge I exist but I never truly feel connected to them. I feel like I'm just a ghost watching other people live their life and connecting while I remain alone. I don't know how to get out of my lonely space and I'm not sure I entirely want to. I've felt so lonely my whole life that I find comfort in knowing I'm lonely and no one can hurt me. Equally, I want to meet new people, be able to connect, and break this endless self isolation cycle but I have no idea where to fucking start.
Maybe that's my new year resolution, to fix this empty feeling of mine

Omg horror sound desing sounds amazing! Pls tag me when you do.
So recently I've been seeing a lot of posts in the audio drama community of either 1. People asking for advice on editing their shows or 2. Giving advice, but usually it's through text without any audio examples. I love both of these posts, but have been thinking that since Tumblr is the only social media site that lets your share audio without visuals, that it might be a good place to do some sort of audio drama show and tell with audio from shows. Like each week there would be a prompt like "how have you created tension through sound design" or "what was one of the most challenging scenes you directed" and people could answer with clips from their shows. I think it could be a cool way to learn from each other since formal education for audio dramas is rare, plus it might help people find new shows. It's still an idea at this point, but I may or may not have started writing some weekly prompts lol.
PS I'm absolutely terrible at naming things, so if anyone has any suggestions on what to call something like this, I'm all ears 😅
