Broodman saw the hesitation in the girl and used it. He fired another stream of web past the girl, using it to suddenly yank himself towards her. He reached out his hand as he flew towards her, wanting to tag her emblem to show her she left herself open. Detective Silk hustled down the stairs not wanting to test their stability. He picked up the pace, becoming increasingly worried about the women he was sent to find.

Broodman twisted through the air dodging the sloppily placed shots. The third was surprisingly on target. He summoned up his buster, charging briefly before firing a stream of web to the ground, and tugging on it to change direction. The shot still grazed his arm as he tumbled to the ground (less than gracefully). "That last shot was pretty good kid! You need to lead most of your shots more though otherwise you'll never hit the faster Navis." He scanned the field with his eyes before dashing off again, this time circling Lilah rapidly. "Now lets see how you react to your escape route being cut off." The Detective headed through the door, pulling out his small snub-nosed revolver. Safety off, finger off the trigger, just like he was taught. As he headed through the secret passage his chest felt tight and adrenaline surged. Eyes constantly scanning for movement he kept pressing forward.

He grinned, leaping up and towards his opponent. He falls towards her, one pointed leg leading in a mighty kick. "C'mon sport, give it your all."
Detective Silk followed the footprints. He scratched his chin, puzzled before looking around the wall and floor for a seam of some hidden door.

Brood man dashed towards her, practically skating across the ground on his nearly pointed legs. He didn't draw his buster, this was about seeing how she responded. His eyes watched her intently, gauging her reaction to such an abrupt charge.
Silk carefully opened the door, hand still near his coat pocket. He moved inside and followed the footsteps in the dust, observing his surroundings carefully as he went.

Broodman shrugged, "The Detective is away so I'm chipless too. Just show me what you can do kid. I won't even hit back if you're really worried". His legs stayed poised, much longer than the rest of his body. His eight eyes locked on the small Navi across the field from him.
Silk moved towards the front door, rapping on it sharply. Hopefully he'd be able to talk his way inside.

Broodman stood again grinning wildly. "No good at Netbattling? Why don't you show me what you've got small fry?" With a snap of his fingers the trappings of the detective agency de-materialized leaving behind a clean stage for Netbattling. "Gimme you best shot sport. Maybe I can give you a few pointers if I watch you long enough." Detective Silk crept closer to the house, surveying the area for people or other structures. He crept towards a window and did his best to smear away the dust to peer inside. His chest was tight, his hand hovering near his coat.

Helping Detective Silk is what I was designed for. Hunting down dead beat Navis, trapping them on the Net so they can't escape, and best of all NET BATTLING! The visor that housed Broodman's eight eyes gleamed at those words. I live for the thrill of fighting other Net Navis. Going all out and pitting my wits and skill against their's. It gets my blood pumping more than anything else on the Net. Leaving his car behind Detective Silk began hiking through the woods towards the coordinates on his PET. His right hand never left the knife in his pocket, and his thoughts drifted towards the small revolver in his coat. As he got closer and closer to the blip on the map, he hoped both of them would remain unused.

"He'll be just fine. Detective Silk's handled dozens of cases before this one. He knows how to handle himself. Not sure what the hell to do until he reports in though." Broodman sat back in his chair, grumbling to himself dejectedly, "I hate being cut out of a job".
Detective Silk sped towards the coordinates given by the girl's Navi. He occasionally fidgeted with the knife in his pocket as he drove further and further away from society.
"I really hope I'm looking for a kid and not a corpse", he sighed heavily to himself.

Looks like there's a fresh face poking around my little detective agency. Don't know who he is, but those pylons on his back are pretty boss. I'm sure he'll bug me if he needs anything.

"This sure is some fix kid", Broodman exclaimed shaking his head, "Looks like the Detective is gonna be completely solo on this one. That odd ball lives so far out I couldn't get eyes close even if I wanted too." Broodman paused for a minute, listening to his NetOP. "Lucky for you the Detective is good at taking care of himself. He's already on his way out to that shack in nowheresville." Broodman knelt down, still more than a head taller than the small Navi, and put a hand on her shoulder. "Besides, can't just leave you by the wayside now can we?", he said with a soft smile.

"Not a problem sport. Everyone's first Navi has a kink or two. Even I had some. Anyhow, Detective Silk can go confront the guy outside of the net. I'll send someone to the closest available terminal to watch out and let me know if the actual police need to be called in." He paused, looking the obviously shaken Navi over. "You should probably stay here in the Detective's terminal with me until this all gets sorted. Wouldn't want your goose getting cooked before we find your NetOP."

"Kekekek", Broodman laughed, "C'mon kid, brass tacks. Ya know, the details? The fine print? Specifics. What exactly are Mr- ahem, Detective Silk and myself doing for you? Is Detective Silk going some place in person? Am I running the net looking for this stumblebum's PC? What's the plan?"

Broodman stood in silence for an uncomfortable period of time before continuing. "Sorry kid, no money no case. That's the way Detective Silk opera-". he said flatly before stopping short. "You sure Detective? You realize time is money right? Whatever you say then", Broodman spoke to his operator, leaving the other Navi privy to only half the conversation. "Detective Silk says we're all your's kid. So what's the brass tacks on this missing NetOP job?" His tone was blunt and more than a little condescending, obviously questioning the decision of his NetOP.

Broodman smirked, the only tell of emotion on his otherwise expressionless face. "Detective Silk always has time so long as you have some dough." He paused for a moment, scratching his chin in thought, "You look kinda young to me though. What problem could possibly make your NetOP hire a detective?"

Broodman towered over the young Navi, perched precisely on his unnaturally long legs. "You should really look people in the eye when you talk sport", Broodman drolled, "people will think you're an easy mark that way. Besides, I've got eight of 'em to choose from".

"A moment please…" Lilah approached quietly, her hands behind her back. Her eyes fixed their gaze firmly on the ground. "I need your… assistance. I had heard… you were good… in this line… of work." She shuffled her feet uncomfortably. Talking to people was never her strong suit, especially with her impediment.

Sorry for the Static
Unfortunately, the display of Detective Silk's PET was damaged today in scuffle with some two bit punk. He's doing his best to get it repaired, but doesn't have the scratch right now. I guess it's just gonna be static until we get a case. Sorry for the inconvenience.
