Bonnie’s Keeper

Once again, Bonnie is doing her “keeper” pose, but this time instead of telling a random girl to be Clemont’s keeper, Bonnie is telling Max that he’s her keeper. Bonnie winks at her, causing Max to blush as red as May’s bandanna. Now Max was already blushing from Bonnie telling him he’s her keeper, but Bonnie’s wink made Max blush more. Max’s mind was flowing with thoughts of how to be the perfect keeper for Bonnie, but he knew he’d be worthy.

Max & Bonnie Sleeping

Here’s my first ever Fourthwheelshipping (Max x Bonnie) artwork… at least one that was made using Procreate.

Max and Bonnie are sleeping together in bed, with their closest Pokémon pals; Jirachi and Dedenne. The four are sleeping peacefully, huddled close together for warmth and comfort. Who knows that these four are dreaming about? Maybe Max is dreaming about Bonnie in a cutely beautiful outfit, maybe Bonnie is dreaming about Max in a cutely handsome outfit, maybe Jirachi is dreaming about what wishes Bonnie would make, and maybe Dedenne is dreaming about playing with not just Jirachi, but also Max’s other Pokémon pals like Ralts and Mightyena.

As a little side note, like @brotherofmay2 and @hunty627, I’m a fourthwheelshipper, meaning I ship Max with Bonnie as both are the same age and have several things in common; such as being the smaller younger siblings and having deep bonds with several Pokémon despite being too young to have any.

Surprise

I just wanna give an update on how I’m doing after over a year since leaving this blog. By the way, this isn’t a full-time return, but I might pop in every now and again to check up on things.

I’m doing well by the way, I’ve just been focusing on bigger things. Trying out different stuff I’ve never tried out before, from movies to video games and even food. For the most part, getting exposed to various pieces of high art in the past year has been fun, and that includes starting my own YouTube channel.

I have a bunch of videos planned in the coming years, a few of which are Max-related, so in case copyright on said vids doesn’t become a problem (as in usually they instantly get blocked), I will share those on here once I release them. Gonna be sort of a trilogy of vids declaring how underrated he is in his 3-4 years on the show.

Personal life’s still gonna get in the way, my brother’s just moving back home and it’s gonna be a bit rough at first but I do wanna stick by him however I can. Very busy life ahead of me, and that includes trying to meet my online girlfriend in person after years of knowing her, so yeah.

Thank you all for reading, I really appreciate sticking by me. One last surprise before I go…

New year update

I would like to give an update on how things have been in the past year, I have a message for you all and it won’t be pretty.

First off, you may have noticed I don’t post as often in the time since I started this blog. The thing is, I’m starting to lose interest in this Max blog in general. I’ve been focusing more and more on other stuff like introducing myself to so many games and movies that I missed out on all my life. I wanna focus more on that this year, but adding a goal of watching a movie I’ve never seen before every day this year means there’s less time to post on here, and honestly it’s for the best.

I’ve been running out of stuff to post related to Max. I wanted to do a bunch of posts showing off Max in Pokémon Journeys if he ever got his episode, and I also wanna show stuff like merchandise with Max in them, but with the former, that didn’t end up happening, and with the latter, there’s barely any Max stuff out there. And besides, even if I do find something else, it’s barely gonna get any attention (outside of my manga posts but that’s beside the point).

So yeah, I’ve been feeling less confident in this blog, and thus, I feel like stopping this blog in general. Losing the momentum of followers and likes my previous blog had kinda had this feeling of wanting to stop doing this within me, and it grew more and more as I focused on other things.

That, and the people I talk to in this fanbase are… out of my ballpark, to be generous.

If anyone wants to continue the legacy of Max in a blog of their own, that’s completely fine, nobody’s stopping you. It’s just that, to me, I barely have any reason to keep posting on here anymore. I hope you all understand.

And with that, I would like to give you all a parting gift. This fanfic about Max and Bonnie travelling together is really good and I wanna give this more attention, and it’s still regularly updating too, so enjoy everyone.

I’m disappointed.

The series finale of Pokémon (or at least Ash’s journey, the series will still go on with new characters) just came out, and after one final season where a ton of companions come back… I’ve been very underwhelmed. Now, I don’t mean to diss any of the other companions here, not at all, but I was kinda hoping everyone would’ve been treated equally.

Misty and Brock reunited with Ash and had a small journey of their own again in the last 11 episodes.

Tracey said hi to Ash in Pallet Town and his Venonat evolved.

Dawn was very prominent with her return, even appearing in a 4 part special, The Arceus Chronicles.

Iris and Cilan also reunited with Ash for a bit and it was nice to see them again, same with Clemont and Bonnie and the Alola gang.

Serena got her own solo episode as a rising star in Hoenn.

And as for May and Max…

This is all we get.

I get it, May’s Japanese VA isn’t here anymore, but as someone who actually likes Max, they shouldn’t have brought him down to silent cameo hell with her. I would’ve been happy with Max getting a prominent episode or two, separate from May, similar to May’s return in Diamond and Pearl, and he could’ve finally had that battle with Ash that he promised him before his departure. Heck, the least they could’ve done is one huge reunion with every single companion and they couldn’t even do that.

I’m kinda mad. Everyone else came back in this final season filled with returning Pokémon, returning travelling companions, and the end of Ash’s journey as a whole. Each companion had a nice little bookend to their stories in just one, two, four, or even upwards of eleven episodes, so why do nothing with May and Max?

I have a feeling that they had a story planned for May and Max, seeing as May is seen in a new outfit (and it would’ve been cool to see her and Serena perform together), but they scrapped it because May’s VA isn’t working with them anymore. Very unfortunate.

All I can say is that, if companions from Ash’s journey are allowed to make an appearance in the sequel series, it would be very nice to have May and Max come back just to make up for their absence in Journeys. They deserve more.
