One week to Melbourne @ozcomiccon and I’m frantically making all the buttons!

If you’ve ever wondered where I got the name “Bruce loves you”, it was from the days when I used to photograph bands. I used to have an inflatable kangaroo named Bruce that I carry around to get signed (as he was easily deflated and chucked into my bag 😂). I used the name for my portfolio and it stuck ever since. My love of The Libertines was what made me interested in band photography in the first place (also thanks to Andrew Kendall for being the photographer I strived to be). Bloc Party in 2005 was the first gig I shot. From there I have made so many friends through this bandom and we went through so many highs and lows together. Sure I stopped band photography all together in the end and turned towards more design/illustrator work, but even that seemed to stem from The Libertines (my first “fan art” was of Pete Doherty 😂). Bands came and went but The Libertines have always had a special place in my heart. Tonight a bunch of us livejournal kids met up for the first time in years (some I haven’t seen in about a decade!!!!) to relive this beautiful era of our lives. If you told me 13 years ago that I would some day be seeing The Libertines live, I would’ve laughed and thought it impossible. But here I was yesterday, finding myself in a Melbourne lane way with Carl Barât of The Libertines after the best gig I’ve ever been to. It was a night full of laughter and a little bit of tears. After 26 VERY long days, (THIS IS A RECORD TIME YOU GUYS!!!) I've just finished uploading the last page of this year's @gishwhes book. I want to thank everyone who has participated throughout the past few years. You keep amazing me with your creativity and every single photo makes me so pumped about designing the book and the merchandise for gishwhes. Designing for gishwhes has occupied a HUGE part of my life these past few years and it's brought out the strangest and craziest side of my creative personality. HUGE THANK YOU to @monicad-photography who’s been my partner in crime since the start for these books. And @everkings , who is such a talented lifesaver! Yes, I'm sad this year was the last year of gishwhes. But if @mishacollins is to be believed, there's probably something more insane around the corner. I do hope to be a part of whatever it is he throws our way, but until then WE ARE DONE!!!
