this is too early for most of you but i got a tooth infection god knows how this weekend and it's been the worst, and will remove the remaining wisdom teeth in 3 weeks which will be a pain again to not be able to eat properly !! i love and need food !! also in the mid of half marathon training which is HARD on the mind ngl, specially with all the illnesses that have been stopping my training AND mentally i'm still battling through it

And that is why i haven't been here but i miss you all 🫶🏼

I got sick last week but i also haven't been feeling good mentally ever since i came back from vacation and it's really eating me away. not sure when i'll be back writing but i will try to do some drafts this long weekend, no promises though

i don't think i've ever talked about lena luthor over here but while she's mainly based on supergirl, i prefer smallville's take on the luthors so it's a big messy mix in my head.

basically she's lionel's child out of marriage, he never cared about her nor did he ever planned to take her in but when lena's mother died when she was four years old, they took her in. up until adulthood, she'd think she was adopted and not actually lionel's daughter.

again, lionel never cared about her and abused her verbally constantly. lillian resented lena since she was a child, but there were moments she was kind to her, until her health started to decline and lena was back to being invisible.

lex however (and obviosuly this depends if i'm writing with a lex) always cared about lena and they used to be close, lena often looking up to her brother and idolizing him.

she went to an all girls boarding school, barely living any time in smallville ever since she went to school.

she has a double degree in biological and chemical engineering from MIT, as well as a phd and has a mba from harvard. some would say she's smarter than her brother 🤭

need to rewatch the downfall of lex to insert lena as the ceo of luthorcorp but she does eventually take over and is better at her job than her brother ever did, sorry not sorry.

she is constantly trying to prove her worth and changing the luthor name in the public's eyes but it's very hard and there are times she really wants to channel her inner villain and just say fuck it let's be bad.

she has a very hard time trusting people and at the minimal betrayal, she goes feral and can be very vindictive. those luthor genes don't spare her.

she has seen her brother obsess over clark kent and kryptonians and while she doesn't have the same desire to take over the world, she shares lex's curiosity for the unknown and may or may not be experimenting on what she shouldn't. she looks at it from a science perspective and a way to make the world a better place but at the eyes of superheroes, she's still very much "against" them. you can come at her, she can take it.

unlike tess in smallville and later in supergirl, she doesn't join any of the superheroes. they don't trust her, she doesn't trust them to not turn their back on her either. there's plenty of plots to have there though.

she's based in metropolis and doesn't have many fond memories from the luthor mansion in smallville, often neglecting it.

"oh, really?" stella had learnt that anything important at the firehouse had to get connie's approval before it went over to HR. she kept her files close to her chest, body half shifting on her feet already. it wasn't that she didn't trust florence but they didn't exactly have the best track record with other secretaries besides connie. "ahm, no. actually, i'm doing a double shift." a pause. "do you know if she'll be back tomorrow? this is kinda urgent."

"connie's not in today, you've just got me." florence was getting to grips with the workings of the firehouse –– at least enough for her supervisor to decide that she could be trusted on her own for a couple of days. and from what she'd seen of connie, that was a big deal. as a doctor, people usually came to her very desperate to be saved. she never did the job for the gratitude patients gave her but it was very rewarding to be valued as a professional. and olivia loved the attention and the purpose it gave her. it was like a fire getting lit up inside of her.

when she was caught forgering insurance documents to help patients who didn't have the money to pay for their medical treatments, and forced to leave medicine behind, she hadn't think she would ever find a purpose in life anymore. it had been it for her. nothing else would compare. until she had landed at the firehouse and her life took an 180.

the thing with working as a paramedic was that people weren't always very grateful. she was the first one to get to a scene, usually even the only one. not everyone wanted her there. as despite their wishes or the situations she had to walk in, she always worked towards saving the life in front of her. the days she couldn't were a loss, another blow that she had to recover from very quickly if she wanted to keep herself afloat.

this man had not been a loss. and while she knew she had no business visiting him at the hospital, she felt compelled to. there was something about his situation that olivia couldn't quite shake the days following his rescue. "i didn't come for a thank you. i just wanted to make sure you were alright." she said from the door, hesitating to walk in. "but you didn't want to die either." she took a step forward, fingers holding tight to her radio in a way to ground her from the memories that flashed before her eyes. "i've seen people given up before. you hadn't lost hope." a beat. "so, what was it?"

"what do you mean?" he walks towards lois, dressed in dark blue scrubs and the very same white lab coat she's offending. "i think college is more accurate, no? there's dorms, a bar around the corner and we have way more fun." he flashes her a smile. "you'd fit right in, lane."

" okay, sloan, seriously, what's the deal with this place ? it's like i'm surrounded by high schoolers in scrubs & lab coats ! "
