It was a stupid question she knew it was however it was something she couldn't stop herself from asking. Telling the truth about oneself is vulnerability, trusting someone is vulnerability and it was this same fear of vulnerability that made him come up with this safety mechanism to make sure no one even attempted to look inside him. She knew it all too well. It was her greatest fear after all.

A small part of the story I'm writing. A little context, this happens around the time they first meet, Dazai suggested they play a game where if one of them loses they get to ask the other a question and of course Maki being Maki asks the questions that matter. Please let me know what you think of my writing im very much open to critiques!

Maki's personality can also come off as quite cold and brutally honest so to people who don't know her well she is usually perceived as quite rude and scary.
