National Geographic found this cool picture from 1927, taken at the Vermont summer camp where Jasper and Geoff first met as kids, and where the idea for B Side Shuffle was first hatched (around a campfire at a 4th of July reunion oh so many moons ago).
Thanks Nat Geo and Camp Lanakila for passing this along!

BALTIMORE 4/16/15 - B Side Shuffle and The New Deal ft. Rob Garza of Thievery Corporation
Guess what, Baltimore!
Tumblr media
On Thursday, April 16th, 2015, B Side Shuffle is raging Baltimore Soundstage with our homies The New Deal and Rob Garza of Thievery Corporation. Boom.
This is gonna be one for the books. You do NOT want to miss this show. Trust that.
Being from D.C. and all, Thievery Corporation has always held a pretty special place in our hearts. Every time we have an opportunity to share a stage with them, awesome things happen.
Over the past few months, we’ve been on the road a lot with Thievery’s own Frank Mitchell - but this is our first time sharing the stage with Rob Garza, and also our first time playing at Baltimore Soundstage - so needless to say, this is one debut we’re giddy about. You should be too.

B Side Shuffle to join Dopapod, Tauk, Rising Appalachia, The Werks, and More at Mad Tea Party Jam 2015
Click here for tickets and full(er) lineup.
Every now and then, life hands you a moment that warms you to your core - erases your cynicism - and proves that the world is good.
For us, that moment happened last year at the Mad Tea Party Jam.
Tumblr media
This year, the lineup is absolutely stacked. And we can't wait to be a part of it.
The Mad Tea Party Jam is presented by Appalachian Jamwich magazine, which is run by Taco and Elise Olmstead - two of the coolest people we've ever met in our journey as a band.
Their genuine love for life reverberates throughout every detail of the festival experience. This is one very, very special party - and not one you want to miss.
When they called us and asked us to be part of it this year, we said yes without hesitation.
I mean, look at this lineup - Tauk, Dopapod, The Werks, Rising Appalachia - and the whole list hasn't even been announced yet.
(More names are trickling out on the festival's Facebook page in coming weeks - we had a sneak peak at the list, and believe us, it's freaking stacked).
Look at this:
Tumblr media
Doesn't it look amazing?
(Spoiler alert: it absolutely is.)
By the way, our set times at this year's MTPJ are literally incredible, we're sandwiched in between some amazing bands, magical things will happen, and we can't tell you about that yet, but you can operate under the assumption this will be absolutely ridiculous.
Click here for more info and tickets.
See you down the rabbit hole, Shufflers :)
Oh, and by the way - we have more announcements on the way, on this and other shows coming up - make sure you stay tuned here, on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and our official website....
P.S. Check out our brand new live video in Live Music Daily with a FREE song download!

Saturday in Baltimore: B Side Shuffle ft. Patrick Rainey and Daniel Davis
Also... Charlottesville
Tumblr media
Patrick Rainey, photo credit Jordan August Photography
We're full of crazy announcements tonight.
For example, on Friday, Frank Mitchell Jr. (of Thievery Corporation and See-I) will be playing with us at Main Street Annex in Charlottesville, Virginia.
But that's not all.
The very next day, Saturday, January 31, 2015, both Patrick Rainey and Danny Davis (of Yellow Dubmarine) will join us for a very, very special one-time super collaboration at Baltimore's Metro Gallery - rocking the tenor sax and trumpet, respectively - with Will Sautter rounding out the horn section on alto sax.
We're amped to be playing with Patrick and Danny again. Including Will, that's basically an ungodly amount of horn talent on stage at once a recipe for an amazing Saturday night. Guaranteed.
The Northerners are playing too, and they ROCK.
In other words, this is not a show to miss. We have a very special set in store for you, and can't wait to see you all there.
18+, doors at 8pm, and tickets are very affordable (click here), so make sure you get them in advance because this one will probably sell out, kids.
Oh also, you can RSVP on Facebook here, if that's your style.
Why be less when you can Bmore?
Bohs and O's,
B Side Shuffle

P.S. If you live in DC - don't worry! This show is literally across the street from Baltimore Penn Station, and you can get there on the MARC train for $7 from Union (schedules here, but heads up, Southbound service stops around 10:30pm, so you'll need an Amtrak ticket to get back afterwards).

Frank Mitchell (of Thievery Corporation/See-I) to join B Side Shuffle in Charlottesville, Virginia on Friday, January 30th
Tumblr media
Charlottesville!
We have some good news.
Like, really good news.
This Friday, January 30, 2015, Frank Mitchell Jr. (of Thievery Corporation, See-I, and now B Side Shuffle) will be joining us on stage for our show at Main Street Annex.
Doors at 8pm. Tickets are just $8.
If you haven't seen us play with Frank, you gotta. Last year we teamed up with him a lot, and awesome things kept happening - like the night when he and Jason Hann (of the String Cheese Incident and EOTO) both got on stage with us at the same time and a drum battle broke out.
But back to the main point: we couldn't be more stoked for Friday.
Here's why.
In mid 2014, we decided to write ambitious horn arrangements for some new B Side songs. Danny Davis and Mario D'Ambrosio of Yellow Dubmarine, our friend Will Sautter, and Frank immediately jumped on board. Together, we brought these ideas to life, and we've basically had the time of our lives since.
This Friday, Will and Frank will be tag-teaming horn duty - rocking smooth harmonies and white-hot solos on brand new B Side yams never before heard in Charlottesville.
Fun fact: Will knows how to map the sea floor with lasers. If you yell loud enough, we might be able to convince him to explain exactly how that works into a microphone.
But more pertinently, our kickass friends The Northerners are playing with us at this show. They're incredible, as you may know. Llamas at Brunch kicks the night off.
See you this Friday at 8, Virginia.
Love :)

B Side Shuffle was on the news today!
Huge thanks to CBS, WUSA 9, Regina Griffin, Simon Landau, and Nikki Burdine for playing Omajimawoma this morning on the teevee.
Morning music for the win! We usually listen to Omajimawoma at least three times before getting out of bed every day, so it's good the rest of DC has now joined the party.
Listen to Farmalade EP here: https://soundcloud.com/bsideshuffle/sets/farmalade
Check out the broadcast here: http://on.fb.me/1tRfyRK
And if you like what you hear - word to the wise - Farmalade EP is also on Spotify and iTunes! #SupportLiveMusic

B Side Shuffle on the WUSA 9 Morning Show!
Well, this is awesome.
Tumblr media
We just got some news here at Shuffle HQ - tomorrow morning (Friday, November 14, 2014) we are gonna be on WUSA 9 in DC!
WUSA's 9 and Shine morning show will be featuring tracks from our sophomore album, Farmalade. We are stoked to be part of all this and can't wait.
If you live outside DC, don't worry. We're working on getting a high quality capture of the broadcast, so we can make it live forever on the YouTubes, where it will hopefully be included by accident in some sort of video mixtape involving kittens, instructional farming videos, Michele Bachmann's greatest hits, and James Brown's 1967 show at Madison Square Garden.
HUGE thanks to Emmy-award winning producer Regina Griffin, 9 and Shine's anchor Nikki Burdine, long-time OG Shufflers Simon Landau and Terry Mullan, the go-go-gadget-Shuffle press team, everyone else who made this happen. Here's to many more, friends!
And DC peeps, don't forget - we'll see you at the 9:30 Club on December 19th.... we have a ridiculous show planned for you with our homies White Ford Bronco. Click here for tickets - they are going so fast it's almost scary.
Okay, time for band practice. Shuffle out.

Frederick, MD - We're Coming for You!
Oh hay, Frederick Maryland!
Tumblr media
We are oh-so stoked to announce that B Side Shuffle will return to Cafe 611 in Frederick on Saturday, November 22, 2014, with our good friends Big Something from North Carolina.
Since the dawn of B Side Shuffle, Big Something has been one of our favorite bands to play with. Not only are they uber talented, but they are some of the nicest musicians we've ever met on the road--they are a classy outfit, and we can't wait to play with them again.
Doors are at 8pm. Tickets will be very affordable. As always, expect lots of cross-pollination and epic sit-ins - last time we played with Big Something, Casey Cranford slayed his EWI (which is basically a saxophone from the future) with us in a moment we will never forget.

The String Cheese Incident AND Thievery Corporation?!?!
Tumblr media
Holy crap, everyone. Tuesday's show with our friends Electric Love Machine definitely gave us a moment of pause... actually, we're still pausing to think about it almost a week later. It was that awesome.
At one point, both Jason Hann of The String Cheese Incident/EOTO AND Frank Mitchell Jr. of Thievery Corporation were sitting in with us - at the same time. And there's video. Stay tuned.
My, what a long strange trip it has been... In times like these, all we can do is turn around and thank the entire B Side community for being the best damn fans a band could ask for. You all are what motivates and inspires us. Without you, we'd still be practicing in Geoff's kitchen... without Jason Hann or Frank Mitchell.
Big thanks to:
Phrazz for his great photos, ELM for raging the stage with us (can't wait to play again with yall in Baltimore next Spring), to Johnny Thorne of Proper Playground Clothing Company, to Jim of The Vinyl District, Stu Kelley of Relix Magazine/Jambase, Marc Worden of Appalachian Jamwich magazine, and everyone else who made the night special.
