The how to train your dragon movies are like someone put a very specific curse on me, with a level of vitriol hitherto unseen. What kinda sick bastard thinks up “I hope your favorite childhood book series gets adapted into a movie that has almost nothing to do with the source material. I hope your favorite characters get replaced with lookalikes with a totally different personalities. Important things that RTD set up in his second run of DW and somehow failed to explain:

Why is Ruby magically able to cause snowfalls and why does she have 'a song in her heart' (or something along those lines)?

Why is Mrs Flood able to break the 4th wall?

Why is the Doctor able to hear non-diegetic music and what's going on with all the references with DW actually being a TV show?

Why was it important to mention that Belinda had a descendant, who the doctor met in 'Boom', that looked exactly like her if we're never going to explore the meaning of it again?

How is it possible that during Jodie Whittaker's era UNIT was gone, and just in a couple of years the organization is back with virtually unlimited funds and a whole avengers-tower right in the middle of London?

What happened with Rogue and how was he able to communicate with the doctor whilst still being trapped in superhell? (I reiterate that I don't like him as a character but I feel that this particular plot should have been resolved with Ncuti as the doctor as it would have been coherent with their story arcs)

Now that the doctor changed reality to bring back Poppy, what happened to the original Captain Poppy and the other space babies? Who were Poppy's original parents? And what happened to Bel's original life, wasn't it important as well? What about his housemates? How do we know that they weren't by accident erased from existence because the Doctor altered reality?

How tf is it possible that Timelords can't have children? The 10th doctor (who is written by RTD as well ffs) specifically mentioned a couple of times having children?!?! Make it make sense. 

The whole bigeneration concept. I understand the idea, but I feel a more in-depth explanation would have been nice.

I'm sure there are more plot-points I'm forgetting, so feel free to add more, but the point I'm trying to make is: why would you set up so much stuff, if all Disney+ is giving you are 8 episodes per series?

It's frustrating, because the premise of those ideas are very interesting but they would require more time and more episodes to explore those concepts with a satisfying conclusion. Not to mention that RTD2 has been filled with fan-service galore, way too many characters (old and new) and publicity stunts, especially in the finale.

And of course the main victims of what happened in the end are Ncuti and Varada, because they were brilliant in their roles, and they deserved better and they deserved more. I just hope that they're getting lots of love and compliments from the fans, at least as consolation.

I'm not saying it's 100% RTD's fault, but I think some decisions led to some lazy writing and the result is... not the best to say the least.

Vague headcanons currently forming for me: I think the Master's first regeneration was them killing themself to try to get rid of the drums (under the logic that something was wrong with their physical body, and they could cure it with a new body). They'd already been stigmatized enough for the drums that the Doctor got the Rani to beard for him rather than publicly admit they were dating. Now the drums are still very much there, and they have the added stigma for killing themself, and they came back as a woman (the president's daughter), which miiight also be stigmatized in a time lord context...? (My fully vibes-based read is that regenerating 8 times in a row as a woman and once as a man is a minor embarrassment, but having anything closer to a 50/50 ratio for your regenerations is Weird :/. And at that point they'd only been Bowl Cut Boy and The President's Daughter).

So the Doctor "steals the president's daughter" (possibly breaking the Master out of some kind of institutionalization or family confinement?). They spend several years going on adventures together. They codify the original Doctor/companion dynamic. The Master takes a bunch of stupid risks that burn through most of their pre-Delgado regenerations. The Master always kind of assumes that once they're done exploring slash conquering the universe, they'll get married and settle back down on Gallifrey. This all culminates in an extremely messy breakup + the Doctor abandoning the Master to keep adventuring. Then the Doctor ultimately settles down on Gallifrey anyway, and rubs salt in the wound by marrying someone else (unknown spouse from the stag party incident). They spend years having an extremely tense academy professors colleagueship (while periodically getting drunk and hooking up). And then the Doctor abandons the Master again (running away with Susan), and they go fully nuclear about it

Now I want an s3 episode where 15 encounters the honeymoon phase young-Hartnell-lookalike Doctor & president's daughter Master. She swans onscreen like "I'm the Mistress, and this is my companion, the Doctor :)". 15 spends the whole episode shaking his younger self (who thinks he's a random impertinent stranger) by the shoulders and going "you need!! to be nicer to her!! and generally!!!!!" Yes the Mistress and 1 both kind of suck & treat non-time lords like funny little animals & only care about turning everything into a game, not about anyone else's wellbeing. Yes the locals are casually sexist to the Mistress, and 1 casually rolls with it ("why yes, I am the genius here and the one to whom you should direct all questions and credit"), and the Mistress pretends to be fine with it while quietly seething. She ends up pulling a dramatic sacrifice that's just a thinly-veiled excuse to regenerate as a man again (both Doctors scream "No!!!" in unison as she dies, and it's our first real cue that 1 genuinely cares about her). The Master now has high hopes about being on Equal Yaoi Footing - and if the Doctor is still a tiny bit condescending to him, then surely they're too in love for that to be a long term issue, right? They kiss, and 15 can hardly bear to look at them.

use flashpoint to play archived online flash games

find books, movies, games, etc. on the internet archive! for starters, here's a bunch of David Attenborough documentaries and all of the Animorphs books

burn your music onto cds

use pdf24 (available online or as a desktop app) instead of adobe

use unroll.me to clean your email inboxes

use thunderbird, mailfence, countermail, edison mail, tuta, or proton mail instead of gmail

remove bloatware on windows PC, macOS, and iOS X
