In October 2023, we embarked on an enjoyable trip to 𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐨 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞, 𝐁𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐧. Our curiosity led us to explore the park's various shops and dining options, eager to enjoy the experience. As the afternoon turned into evening, we realized that the park's outdoor activities were not at their peak, allowing us to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. We leisurely explored the park, taking pictures of the various dining and shopping spots to share our adventure.
One valuable lesson we learned was the importance of 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠. Our afternoon visit didn't fully showcase the park's potential, as the absence of dedicated seating areas meant we spent much of our time strolling around the open space. We decided to return in the evening to fully appreciate the park's beauty and ambiance, hoping to experience it at night. 𝐀𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐨 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐦𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, it was a lesson in timing and the 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐯𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬.

We went to Tungko Wet Market, located in Tungko Manggahan, San Jose Del Monte Bulacan. This public market is not your typical grocery shopping experience, as it is 𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐝𝐞𝐝. Consumers can access the market through public transportation, private cars, motorcycles, or bikes. Inside the market, consumers enter a maze with levels, including vendors selling street foods, styro, and plastic cups. Wet markets are not for the faint of heart, especially for vegans and vegetarians.
The stalls are arranged by meat, with pork, beef, and chicken meat displayed on a silver rod. Consumers can inspect the meat before purchasing, and sometimes even have the butcher slice or dice it for a designated dish. The seafood section offers live fish, like tilapia, freshly caught and packed for consumption.
𝐖𝐞𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐦𝐚𝐣𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬. A public market is known for its cheaper prices and good bargains for necessities, making it the primary source of daily food for Filipino households.

The 𝟑𝟎𝟐𝟑 𝐜𝐚𝐟𝐞 in SJDM Bulacan caught our attention as a worthy contender for the finest cafe in Bulacan. Despite its sophisticated appearance, the cafe has only been in operation for six months, with five owners who are all good friends. The cafe's name is a clever play on the nearby zip code, and the barista, Kenneth, is known for his impressive latte art.
During our visit, we enjoyed a 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐥𝐲 𝐛𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐤𝐞 made by one of the owners, and we rated the coffee's quality an eight out of ten. The warm and inviting ambiance enveloped us, and we couldn't resist asking about their best-selling items and what set them apart from the competition.
During our conversation, the friendly and open owner of the cafe came over, sharing the secret of the cafe's allure. They offered their customers the rare opportunity to become a barista for an hour, involving them in the world of coffee creation. This special opportunity allowed customers to not only experience a cup of their chosen brew but also learn the craft of making coffee under the expert supervision of the cafe's knowledgeable baristas.
We were satisfied after leaving the cafe and taking in the amazing understanding we had acquired there. The cafe's 𝐝𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬, along with its 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐳𝐲 𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞, made our next visit something we looked forward to. 👍🏻
