Ep 11 - Two-Face: Part II

*sigh*

The Showdown. The Reckoning.

Here goes nothing.

Y'know, Two-Face and his peculiar habit with the coin, it makes me think that Harvey is still in there, or rather, that 'Harvey Dent', Bruce Wayne's friend 'Harvey Dent' IS Two-Face, and that makes it all the worse.

That it wasn't that 'Big Bad Harv' finally and completely suppressed 'Harvey Dent', but that 'Harvey Dent' was finally done with it all, succumbing to the rage and the sin, becoming one with 'Big Bad Harv' all on his own.

Harvey Dent was unendingly torn between good and evil, between kindness and rage, between himself and 'Big Bad Harv', so much so that he couldn't decide for himself, and so Two-Face has to rely on the luck of a coin toss to make that decision. Sure, he goes to Rupert Thorne's base first, and why would he do that if not to intrude? But nonetheless, he can't take the important step, the step you can't turn back from, without that coin.

It breaks my heart.

Oh, Bruce. Stop it. You can't do that to yourself. It wasn't your fault... You couldn't have predicted this.

This is a tragedy.

"Keep your guard up sir, Harvey is no longer the fellow we knew."

In a tragic episode like this, the gentleness of this old man shines through so brightly.

The loss of his coin, the loss of his crutch... and the loss of control? Hopefully not.

"It's all right now Harvey. I'm here."

"Poor Harvey. So filled with anger. Do you think there's any hope?"

"Where there's love, there's hope, Commissioner."

"For you, Harvey."

Well. What an episode. Honestly, the ending was hopeful, with how the coin landed.

I suppose we'll see what life has in store for Two-Face later on.

This has been quite the rollercoaster, a fantastic, thrilling, heart-breaking and heart-warming rollercoaster.

Ep 10 - Two-Face: Part 1

HERE WE GOOO! Boy have I been looking forward to this one. I imagine it will be less memeable and more painful, but hey! Both is good.

"And thank you."

You gotta love Gordon. I can't wait for them to start properly interacting in the show.

Ohhhh boy. We're in for it.

"Maybe you should get some help."

"Don't be embarrassed. Lots of people see psychiatrists Harv."

"Well, I for one am proud of you. And relieved! It takes a strong man to admit when he has a problem."

THIS SHOW! So incredibly ahead of its time. It's fantastic.

Oh. Oh man.

Definitely one of the coolest shots in BTAS but all I feel is my heart sinking and sinking.

Oh, Harvey. You should've prioritised yourself.

The emotions, the action, the animation, the despair.

Ep 9 - Be a Clown

A cute, fun, Jokey episode.

The voice acting for the kid at the start was a little lackluster?

"It's always what you say, you, you, you." And then he runs away crying. But it sounded like he was reading off a script? Sorry bud 😂

Nonetheless, this was a solid, fun episode! I had a great time memeing it anyhow.

Ep 8 - The Forgotten

Ok THIS is what I'm talking about! What with the refreshing plot, Bruce in a disguise, and some Alfred action, what's not to like?

You have to love how good of a guy Bruce is, and how much he actually feels. The face he makes when hearing how nothing has been done about the homeless people going missing is a testament to the core of Batman; a genuinely good man that wanted to make a difference.

Also in that lighting? Perfection.

Yeah, still hot.

When being a cat lover gets you kidnapped 😔

ALSO BATMAN IS A CAT LOVER Y'ALL (Supes would have a field day this)

Good to see that Bruce Wayne that doesn't know he's Bruce Wayne is still in fact our boy Bruce Wayne.

Ep 7 - P.O.V

I can't lie, for the first time, I was a little bored.

Bullock lying out of his ass is funny, but also kinda annoying imo. I feel like Bullock is great when used sparingly, but not too much.

Officer Montoya is pretty fun to watch though; she's smart, beautiful and an upstanding officer. Also how many people can say they've saved/assisted Batman before? Thrice?!

Marry me, Renee.

Also, I love it when they do this:

It's just the coolest thing, like, he IS the night. Also I would be terrified of the man if I was a criminal, like bro is SCARY.

Batman Pose of the Episode:

Either that, or he's posing for the cover of Vogue. Take your pick.

Overall, though, I'd say this was a fairly slow episode. Good, but slow.

I'd give it a 7.4/10 as of today.

Ep 4 - The Last Laugh

Ok this ep is frickin terrifying, the mad laughing, the robot clown, the TITLE CARD - I would have had straight nightmares if I'd seen this some years back.

Just look at that monstrosity.

"Not a single funny bone in his body," said Alfred, lying through his teeth. (Batman is hilarious, fight me)

The tension when the laughs get to Alfred... no one messes with Alfred, eh?

Ep 3 - Nothing to Fear

A pretty serious one

Alfred and Bruce’s father-son relationship ;-;

Not the exact line, but, Alfred says something along the lines of, "Nonsense! I know he would be so proud of you. Because I, am so proud of you."

“NO. I am NOT a disgrace. I am vengeance. I am the NIGHT. I Am BATMAN!”

Bats completely in the darkness; just a silhouette with the white eyes when Scarecrow backs into him. So cool.

“What’s the matter, Scarecrow? Can’t handle your own medicine?”

“Ohhh yes.” - Batman, just in case you weren't sure.

Bruce walking away from the Wayne grave with Batman’s shadow is such a cool image.

Ep 1 - On Leather Wings

First impression, literally perfect.

Batman. SMILING. On like first ever appearance. I LOVE IT.

HIS VOICE IS YESS - not comically deep but still super deep

The Alfred and Bruce banter is THE BEST + Sassy King Alfred

EVERYONE HAS SO MUCH PERSONALITY - commissioner Gordon, the chief, Bullock, the guard that got injured, the helicopter dudes etc. etc. all the dialogue has so much life it feels like no one’s an npc

The old, fluid and dark animation is somehow super charming - the whole thing is STRAIGHT VIBES

HE’S SO COOL 

The way he puts on a voice when he’s in Bruce Wayne mode - Hearing Bats with a higher voice in custome is funny af 

HE EMOTES SO MUCH - Smiling, Shock…

After watching two shows where Bats is a main character’s dad this is SO refreshing (I'd watched Young Justice and Teen Titans before this)

Watching Batman: The Animated Series (BTAS)

Alright y'all this is my first rewatch of the series, first time in six years so I don't remember nothin', which is great!

After watching a couple episodes, I'm realising just how goated this series is, and I started putting my comments on a doc anyway, so I thought I'd go public. ANYWAY, this is the start, I'll put out comments for eps 1 - 3 in just a sec!

There should be a new episode (or two) every day!
