Hart Legacy Recap - Gen 3, Part 5 (LAST ONE I PROMISE)
The pregnancy was blessedly uncomplicated, and before they knew it, Holly and Kellan were welcoming their baby daughter, Rose Hart, into the world.
They took to parenting like a fish to water, especially Kellan, who decided to leave his job and become a stay-at-home father- Holly had always been the primary breadwinner anyway.
Meanwhile, Holly went back to work (and got a gig in an apartment for the first time, which totally broke the career for this save. thanks sims functional game fr), Guidry befriended the cat, and they attended a family pool party for the summer solstice, where Kellan quickly bonded with his new niece Marina.
Everything was going well- right up until Kellan got up one too many times in the night to shush Rose and didn't make it back to bed, instead passing out on the floor in front of the fire and ultimately overheating to death.
Holly was- understandably- distraught by the loss. Guidry and his friend Bonehilda were quick to step up with the housework, and auncle Luke volunteered childcare for a while, to allow Holly to come to terms with it.
Slowly, and with the help of her extensive support system, Holly was slowly able to return to her normal life. And, at Luke's suggestion, she adopted a puppy to keep the now-elderly Pickles company, a bernese mountain dog whom she named Tiny.

Hart Legacy Recap - Gen 3, Part 4
Winter fell in Windenburg, and Kellan began spending more and more time at Holly's home. He wasn't entirely sure about this whole haunted house thing, but Holly believed it and he'd spent enough nights there to accept that something was going on, whether he understood it or not.
Winterfest was held at Holly's that year, with Luke and Tricia debuting their daughter, Marina, which got both Holly and Kel thinking about children of their own...
The holiday ended with a date on the pier, where Kellan had a surprise: a ring, delivered on one knee. And, after a tearful and heartfelt acceptance, they took a trip through the haunted house- for old times sake.
Kellan was quick to move in, and their lives slotted together like a puzzle falling into place. Before long, the wedding was planned and a date set.
The wedding was a beautiful event in the same church where her grandparents had been married. They spent the night at home, making sure Guidry was ready to hold down the fort, before heading out to Sulani for their honeymoon.
The honeymoon was fun and romantic, with plenty of swimming, kissing, games and, of course, some waterfall woohoo.
Once they got home, though, Holly began to notice a new feeling and, on a whim, brought home a test after a gig. Sure enough, it came back positive, and to both of their delight they would be growing their family!
Meanwhile, Pickles did This with the trash can. For some reason. I love her.

Hart Legacy Recap - Gen 3, Part 3
Now a young adult, Holly wasted no time in getting out of her childhood home- the beautiful old tudor house in Windenburg had seen better days, but the price was fantastic and she wasn't one to look a gift horse in the mouth.
She also became a paranormal investigator, following her passion into her very first successful gig. It was easier than she'd expecting, coaxing ghosts free from this plane and destroying cursed dolls.
Although, something about her own house left the hairs on the back of her neck on edge... which she assumed must have been from the old owners, surely...?
For a while her life was a steady flow of work and maintaining the ghostly presence at home, right up until she decided every haunted house needs a black cat- whom she dubbed Pickles. She is the real main character of this story. Look at those giant eyes. I love her.
Moving on (reluctantly), Holly finally met one of the resident ghosts- Guidry- who offered his services whenever she may need them.
With his advice, she was quick to begin rising in her career, but one night of a particularly successful investigation, she headed out to drink and dance at the local nightclub and recognized a familiar face in the crowd...
She tapped Kellan on the shoulder, and was surprised when they immediately seemed to pick up where they'd left off, with Holly tentatively offering a date by the end of the evening. She was even more surprised when he said yes.
brief Pickles interlude because she aged up too. I cannot overstate how obsessed I am with this cat.
The date went well, and all too soon they were laughing, kissing, and singing karaoke like no time had passed at all.
Harvestfest swept in, and Holly traveled back to Copperdale to see her family- Kellan couldn't join her, both because the Landgraab's had another event planned, and because they weren't sure if they were ready to openly announce their getting back together yet. And by the end of the night, Tricia had accepted a proposal and revealed news of her own: she and Luke were expecting, and now engaged!
The rest of the year came with good news and bad- Kellan had come over to spend the night for the first time and got the Pickles seal of approval, but Lilah died just days after Harvestfest and his night over turned into staying the weekend, offering Holly a shoulder to lean on and a friend to talk with.

Hart Legacy Recap - Gen 3, Part 2
Holly and Luke had always had a shared bad habit of staying out long past their curfew at various parties. Now that they were each romantically involved, the nights spent out only increased in frequency.
This led to many fights with their mom, though Luke was always faster to try and diffuse the situation than their sister.
Winterfest came and went, with Holly getting into a... disagreement with Father Winter. Which isn't plot relevant but I thought it was really funny that she fought him and won.
One night in early spring, their friend Davis announced that he'd found a fantastic party spot- a haunted house near his home. Of course, the entire group wasted no time in lighting the bonfire and exploring the house, and when Alicia found a seance table upstairs- well, what would you expect from a group of teenagers? Still, Holly found it deeply fascinating and even snuck back upstairs later to try a seance on her own. And that painting in the living room seemed to be looking directly at her...
When they got home that night, Holly couldn't sleep. She kept thinking about the feeling, the buzz of connection under her skin from the seance, and spent most of the night laying in bed and coming to the realization that this, this was what she wanted to do with her life.
Prom was quickly approaching, and while Luke's promposal to Tricia got an enthusiastic yes, Holly's reevaluation of her life had revealed to her that maybe this wasn't the time for a serious relationship yet, that she should get a hold of her temper before committing to anything. Still, after some hesitation, Kellan agreed to go to prom as friends.
Prom was a surprisingly laid back event, with Luke winning prom jester- because, of course, Holly had cast her vote for them- and Tricia taking queen. They all met up at Thriftea afterwards to bask in the glow of their impending adulthoods.
They rode that shared high right up until their birthday, as the duo aged up into young adults and left their childhoods behind.

Hart Legacy - Gen 3, Part 1
As soon as Holly Hart was old enough to express herself, she was a hot-headed child, a stark contrast to her more level-headed, creative twin.
While her mother, Lilah had done her very best, Holly was also remarkably perceptive, and she was quick to figure out that Lilah hadn't wanted motherhood, which led to many an argument between them. It didn't help that, between the two kids, Holly bore a much closer resemblance to their absentee father, making her feel even more ostracized- though Lilah tried to assure her that she loved her just as much as Luke.
Luke was quite outgoing, finding it far easier to make friends than Holly, who- while not completely content with it- preferred their company to anybody else's anyway.
One day, at a local rec center, Holly spotted somebody that she only recognized from the childhood photos of herself and her sister that her aunt Sarah had shown her- one Grasshopper Green. Impulsively, she chased after him- but the interaction left her with more questions than answers, which her mother wasn't inclined to clear up when she marched into the kitchen later that day to ask.
It wasn't a great start to her teenage years, and high school was something of a drag, but Holly was able to piggyback off of Luke's newfound popularity and integrate herself into the friend group they'd formed. While Luke dealt with their raging crush on a cheerleader, Tricia, Holly threw herself headfirst into her friendships.
As they began to grow into themselves, both kids began to find their own passions. Luke had taken up comedy and guitar, while Holly had began boxing. Their bond with one another grew as well, sharing their feelings and fears late into the night. Luke's relationship with Tricia became official, and Holly still felt like something of an unwanted child, with how much time their mother spent at work.
Holly had also had an eye on a particular boy in their friend group, Kellan Landgraab, and when he encouraged her to pick up a violin one day at the local thrift store, she made her move. She was delighted when he agreed to a skating date, and even moreso when the date ended in their first kiss.

Hart Legacy Recap - Gen 2, Part 3
Breaking the news of the pregnancy to Grasshopper went about as well as could be expected- which is to say, very poorly. It resulted in their third and final breakup, as per the ultimatum that had been issued when they'd last gotten back together.
Lilah's life quickly became a rollercoaster, after that. Between dealing with the symptoms of the pregnancy, moving into a new home, and work, she was quite thoroughly overwhelmed, but Sarah and Byron were there every step of the way to hold her hand and shore her up when she needed it- which was more often than not.
The greatest surprise came not long after the move, when she delivered twins- a major shock, considering Lilah hadn't been expecting or wanting even one baby.
The babies were named Holly and Luke Hart, and all three adults pitched in to help care for them- it takes a village, after all. But all good things must come to an end, and Sarah and Byron had to leave soon before the twins aged up, returning to their own lives and leaving Lilah to keep her head above water by herself.
It wasn't easy for Lilah to adjust to motherhood, and she celebrated her adult birthday alone with the twins- Luke was turning out to be quite a laid back baby, but Holly was a fussy little one.
Only a few days after her birthday, Lilah sent both kids to daycare for a very important event- Sarah and Byron's wedding, where she was the maid of honor. To her surprise, she didn't miss Grasshopper at all during the ceremony- she supposed she'd always known on some level that it wouldn't work out, and she had more than enough love in her life to make up for the lack of a boyfriend.
Having a break from parenting- even just for a day- was a breath of fresh air, and Lilah was able to return home with a newfound vigor for her little family. She also rose in her career, though slower than before, and plunged herself headfirst into family medicine- she had always enjoyed pediatrics, come to think of it.
Winterfest came and went, and with the twins getting a little older, Lilah could finally truly return to the rhythm of her life. Family was always held close to her heart, and soon Sarah and Byron welcomed their own little girl, Alicia.
She had never understood the idea of children growing up "so fast" until she'd become a mother, and soon young Holly had shown herself to be a remarkably hot-headed girl
Elderhood snuck up on her somewhere between fights with her daughter and shifts at work, and before she knew it her kids were grown and moved out, her sister had welcomed a second child- a son, this time- and she was retiring from her hard won career.
She was surprised when Holly- who had moved out the day she'd aged up to a young adult- invited her out for a spa day, but it was a welcome day of relaxation. Clearly, her daughter had had some healing to do, and was finally ready to start rebuilding the bridges she'd burned- except...
Except her years had finally caught up with her, and Lilah passed away of old age at a local park one pleasant autumn afternoon.
In her lifetime, Lilah maxed her Logic, Charisma, Cooking and Wellness skills and reached the top of the Doctor career.

Hart Legacy Recap - Gen 2, Part 2
Their birthdays came and went, and before she knew it Lilah was living in her own small house in Willow Creek, hosting Harvestfest for the entire family.
Grasshopper, also now a young adult, came over the next morning with a housewarming gift- that turned out to be a stink bomb. A second breakup quickly ensued, with Lilah stressing in no uncertain terms that until he could accept her career choice- Grasshopper had always "joked" that she would never become a doctor, and should instead work smaller part-time jobs like he did so they'd have more time together- they were over.
Instead, Lilah committed herself to her personal life, practicing wellness, going out with friends, and, indeed, working as a nursing assistant at a local hospital.
Their parent's passing hit Lilah and Sarah both hard, and Lilah was able to convince her to go for a spa day- as a doctor, she was well aware of the importance of self care.
Afterwards, Lilah and her friends had planned another get-together at a cafe in Windenburg, and maybe it was the grief, or the drinks they'd all been sipping, but when she spotted a familiar face across the bar- well.
Surprisingly, though, the fight didn't serve to only ruin their relationship further- if anything, getting the feelings out gave them an opening to try again. Which they did. Under the condition that this was the last time, and if it didn't work now it would never work, and they would cease trying.
And for a while, it was good- Grasshopper had accepted that there was no chance in hell that Lilah would leave her hard-earned career for him, for one thing. (Especially because at work she had literally brought someone back from the dead.)
Of course, a relationship built on as rocky a foundation as theirs wasn't without it's ups and downs, and privately Sarah- and her now fiance Byron- shared the sentiment that Grasshopper wasn't right for her, but they did their best to make it work.
(side note look at these cutie patooties. Sarah and Byron healthiest couple this generation fr)
Eventually, Lilah noticed that she had been gaining weight and feeling ill, and- well, she was a doctor. One positive pregnancy test later, she barely made it through her shift before calling Sarah in a panic. Neither she nor Grasshopper wanted kids, and she invited Sarah over to calm her down before calling Grasshopper to break the news....

Hart Legacy Recap - Gen 2, part 1
Lilah Hart was always an inquisitive child, in contrast to her more athletic sister, but that didn't stop the girls from being close friends.
She realized early into her life what she wanted to do with it: she was going to follow in her father's footsteps and change the world for the better, just on a smaller scale, and become a doctor.
When she reached high school, she buckled down and set to work- being a doctor isn't exactly famous for being easy, but she'd always been a hard worker.
The first wrench in her plan came in the form of a boy: Grasshopper Green, a member of the programming team who Lilah couldn't keep her eyes off of, in the classes they shared.
They got along well, at first, sharing notes from their shared classes and even allowing themselves to be dragged to a skating rink by Sarah, with her own friend group.
Their first kiss took place at the local amusement park, and they made it official- boyfriend and girlfriend- but only a few nights later Lilah's family cat, Rusty, passed away, putting a damper on her good mood.
As a distraction, the girls went out with their mutual friend group, but the mood was soured further during a double chess game and a fight broke out, which followed them home to Grasshopper's and led to a shouting match and a breakup.
Lilah resolved herself to be committed to her schoolwork and nothing else for the rest of high school, but she couldn't seem to keep him out of her head- passing him in the hallways and, on one particularly annoying occasion, being paired on a group project snowballed until she ran into him on the beach during the summer solstice.
They picked up right where they'd left off, attending prom together, ostensibly as friends, though Sarah- who had brought along her own date, Byron Romeo- teased that nobody was buying it.

Hart Legacy Recap - Gen 1, Part 2
Fire and Ulrike Hart welcomed their second daughter, Lilah (who, quite frankly, does NOT look ready to be born yet. like girl put her back in she's still halfway in her past life), not long before Sarah aged up into a toddler.
With two very young daughters to take care of, Fire made the decision to step down as leader of the Paragons- having both adults juggling their careers alongside parenthood was hard enough, and though Fire was still eager to be a Paragons member, he simply didn't have the time to host their meetings anymore.
The girls grew up fast, and before they knew it Fire and Ulrike had the time to dedicate to their careers again- not to mention hobbies.
In this time, Fire was able to max both his Handiness skill and the Politician career, and soon the girls became teenagers and began to attend high school, no longer requiring their parents to be home when they got there- freeing up plenty of time for the couple to indulge themselves.
Aging up into elders didn't slow them down, and Fire- ever the romantic- continued to woo Ulrike right up until their daughters moved out, one after the other. After all, they were so close in age in was merely days between their leaving the nest.
Ultimately, Fire died of old age just days before Winterfest. The rest of the family gathered in the apartment, both to mourn his loss and celebrate the holiday- including Sarah's boyfriend, Byron.
Ulrike too passed away from old age not long after the holiday.
In their lifetimes, they achieved the following:
Fire maxed his Cooking, Charisma, and Handiness skills, as well as completing the Politician career and the Leader of the Pack aspiration. He also got to the second level of the Super Parent aspiration.
Ulrike maxed her Cooking and Painting skills, completed the Painter career, and the Painter Extraordinaire aspiration.

Hart Legacy Recap - Gen 1, part 1
sooo I want to start posting my sims legacy story in real time but I'm already like. three and a half generations in so I figured I'd make some recap posts about prior generations.
(and yes, I promise I got better at taking pictures over time. because goddamn these first ones are bad lol)
our story begins with founder Fire Hart (who was shamelessly named after the warrior cats character), an aspiring politician living in San Myshuno.
He was quick to join the Paragons club, becoming fast friends with member Sergio- and fast enemies with Ulrike, a member of their enemy club the Renegades.
Fire's life was quite peaceful- he worked on his woodworking skill, adopted a cat named Rusty (also shamelessly named after the warrior cats character), and attended Paragons meetings.
When he ran into Ulrike at the spice festival one night, they were both initially quite hostile, but after a while they began to hit it off (getting them to have one positive interaction took me like an hour irl. I was in the trenches.)
Their relationship progressed fast, and after introducing her to Rusty, Ulrike confessed that she'd been planning on leaving the Renegades for months and hadn't had the courage.
Their relationship progressed rapidly after she dropped out of the Renegades and moved in with Fire, though- like any relationship- they had their ups and downs.
They got engaged just days before Ulrike found out she was pregnant, and the wedding was held soon after.
The wedding was a small ceremony with a handful of friends, and not long after they welcomed baby Sarah Hart.
Parenting suited the couple well, and it wasn't long at all until baby number two was on the way.
